Exactly no one knows. How do we know the new writing team wanted to write for him? We knoe [!@#$%^&*] liked him but maybe Sheffer has other things in mind or maybe Corday didn't like what was planned and decided the show was better off sending J&J away rather then risking ruining them even more.

I won't leave outright because Matt isn't back, but sure close to it. I'm livid. He has so much to offer on Days and it is difficult to believe they would cave into the J/J fan base to send them off together. I HATE THAT. That is why couple fan bases are soooooooooooooooooooo wrong. Jack is so much more than half a couple. He is Steve's brother. He is Abby and JJ's father....what will happen to them? Surely Hogan will fix this.

I agree and as I said they control the show because Corday let's them. He needs to stop with that because that is where Days becomes a mess. I am not bashing the fanbases but I am certain they played a part in this decision somewhere. We will never know for sure though.

That's funny too, they are keeping Abby yet she has the least airtime amongst the teen, and of course, she is the best and the most historically grounded. Benson is a great younger actress and her character is good yet she hardly has airtime outside of the Chelsea mess. Her supposed bf is also hardly on. Give her some airtime, damnit!!

If Abby's staying in Salem then that makes me concerned that J&J won't get a happy ending. How would they explain her not going with them? The girl is like 15.

The only time i could see Jennifer and maybe Jack returning in the future is for Alice's funeral, when FR passes away...They have to at least bring jennifer back for that, and i would hope MR would return..

Matthew has really stomached a lot of crap from DAYS in the past 3 years. From July of 04 to June of 06 he has been "on again off again" and mostly off. He was just hanging in the balance. Utterly ridiculous. Why try and please the J&J fans now? Matthew should NEVER return to the show so long as the people responsible for his poor treatment are still running it. There's just too much one can stomach...

Poor Matt: is this the 4th time he's been fired from DAYS? This must be almost a world record.

I never thought I'd say this,but I wish JER hadn't been fired after all, because I think he actually wanted to keep Matt on DAYS, as part of the triangle.

Ken Corday can go and get fucked!

A lot of you will hate me for saying this, but without Matt & Missy on DAYS, I won't be watching anymore, even with Steve/Kayla back.

Matt has been loyal to this show for years, he has put his heart and soul into the portrayal of his character, he has never said a bad word in public about the writing or Jack Deveraux's lack of airtime.....and this is how he is repaid? To put it mildly, I am outraged!

Let's hope Y&R or one of the other soaps hires him immediately, and treats the man with some more respect than he has ever been shown by those bozos at NBC.

Honestly, from rumors I have seen, Hogie had a big story planned for Jack. Unfortunately, Corday felt it was better to fire Matt and write J&J off together.

As for Billy Warlock, if he stays I expect Hogie will finally give Frankie some layers. Let's face it - Jennifer was the love of his life and he is losing her because he helps save Jack. I would think this would cause a major change in a person. Billy might even get a good story under Hogie's pen - anyone who saw Billy as AJ on GH knows how talented he is and how good he is at being a little bad.

Billy Warlock should stay and he should be paired with someone worthy of his talents (not that Missy wasn't, lol)... if we're not going to see Mickey, decide that Mickey wanted to retire and spend more time w/Maggie and let Frankie have the law office.

The character has lots of possibilities. Just because Jennifer's gone doesn't mean this character should be eliminated. Heck, Days, didja forget that Frankie/Jen were finished back in 1991?

Corday should never have let Missy get away. Not that I can blame her for wanting to flee the show after the crap that Reilly wrote.

The show has improved lately. I love Steve and Kayla and love Jack & Jenn but still the storylines are stupid.

Ah, well, my excitement for Days was very short lived. I hope they have them go off into the sunset together, at least. Won't be watching Days afterwards, though. I'm just way too annoyed with TIIC.
