Bree Williamson plays both Jessica Buchanan and Tess, the alter ego Jess created to cope with her unthinkable exploitation at the hands of a child pornographer. "Tessica" recently gave birth to a baby girl named Brennan, leaving One Life fans with two big questions: Who's the mommy, Jess or Tess? And who's the daddy? Either it's Jess' beau, Antonio Vega (Kamar de los Reyes), or Tess' man, Nash Brennan (Forbes March). Spoiler alert! If you'd prefer to avoid any clues or hints, you'd better not read my mini-quiz with One Life head writer Dena Higley below. TVGuide.com: So it's paternity-testing time? Dena Higley: We'll find out who the father is, and that catapults us into the next part of the story. TVGuide.com: Speaking as an armchair viewer - I'm no pediatric expert - the baby looks very Caucasian to me. So she's Nash's, right? I'd think that if she were Antonio's Latina offspring, she might have a bit of a cocoa hue.... Higley: Yeah, well, we'll just have to wait and see! Believe me, anything's possible. TVGuide.com: I'm worried for Antonio. He and Jessica have been mostly back-burnered while you got viewers invested in the Tess and Nash coupling. Higley: Let's just say that, from the point of the paternity results and onward, it's more of an Antonio-Jessica story. They're gonna have their turn in the sun. TVGuide.com: So the baby's Antonio's? Higley: [Laughs] I didn't say that! TVGuide.com: Well, if Jessica's coming out of her psychological shell, it must be because she likes the baby news. Higley: Well, we're gonna give Antonio and Jessica fans something to really cheer about. TVGuide.com: So the baby's Antonio's! Higley: I didn't say that! [Laughs again] Somebody asked if it was an animatronic baby because she has really fine features. As far as I know, they're using a real baby. I'm based in Los Angeles, so I don't know what they're doing over there in New York City, where the show is taped. TVGuide.com: That's funny! So how much longer will it be before Jessica is one person again? You've previously hinted that would happen after the baby's birth. Higley: Right. There's so much to the integration process and Jessica trying to recover the lost memories of the molestation and all that. It plays out, in my mind, fairly quickly. Some people might think it's slower than they would like, but I think it's a pretty good pace, so that by the end of the summer, she is pretty much one person. From the end of May sweeps on, there's a lot of internal struggle and you don't see a lot of flipping back and forth between personalities, even though it's not technically the end of the story. We've had to endure Antonio's Life to Live since 2004 (or there abouts) and she says he's going to have his 'turn in the sun'? I am disgusted! I hope Jessica finally is integrated with Tess, with some of Jess's personality----the good part---memories, love for siblings, Viki, Clint and the good part of Tess----her fashion sense, her smartness, her love for Nash----as well as all of Jess & Tess's memories. I hope Jessica & Nash end up together. I wish Claudia would go crazy and try to kill Nash but kills Antonio instead. I wouldn't mind Antonio if he'd get over Jessica. I wish OLTL would somehow bring back Keri Reynolds (Sheri Saum). R.J. could've faked her death after a suicide attempt and she could've been in a coma sense and comes out of it as the nice Keri and not the crazy one when the character was ruined. That would do my Antonio/Jessica hating heart good. But then again, I would have to wonder how long it would take for Antonio to try and adopt the baby as his... while continuing to ignore the one he has. I read that too. It is revealled that Nash is the father, after which Claudia reveals to Nash that she switched the results and Antonio is really the father... *zzzzzzzzzzzz* And that hasn't been confirmed as a spoiler.
