Young and the Restless fans could never forget that blond, slinky soap siren, Jennifer Gareis. She played Sharon Newman's ex-best friend, Grace Turner, who was always lusting after her husband, Nick. So what's she up to now?

On today's episode of SoapNet's Soap Talk, Gareis' manager, Michael Bruno, revealed that she is headed over to Y&R's sister sudser, The Bold and the Beautiful, to play the new Donna Logan!

Donna is the younger sister of B&B's long-suffering fashionista, Brooke Logan Forrester (Katherine Kelly Lang). Gareis will debut as Donna on June 20. Expect lots of drama with Brooke and their father, Stephen (Patrick Duffy).

FYI, the role of Donna was originated by Carrie Mitchum, who is a granddaughter of the late Robert Mitchum and the ex-wife of Casper Van Dien. Mitchum last appeared in 2004. So why isn't she reprising her role? Probably the same reason B&B chose Lesli Kay to play Felicia Forrester instead of the original Felicia, Colleen Dion. They wanted a younger, sexier actress with more of an edge. It sure worked in Kay's case, and I have no doubt Gareis will be faboo, too.

Jennifer Gareis will make a GREAT younger sister for Brooke! I can already see the love triangles between the two and various men once the see the new & sexy Donna!

Sounds interesting but I really liked Carrie Mitchum in the role. Of course I liked Colleen Dion too, but Leslie Kay is good too.

I just hate when they keep making characters younger though by hiring younger performers.

Oh I want to see a Dante/Bridget/Donna storyline. I had to think there for a moment and remember that Donna is Bridget's aunt. Okay, so yeah bring it on. To bad Deacon isn't around anymore they would be HOT together.

It is not B&B who didn't want Carrie Mitchum to return it was the actress who declined this offer many years ago due to personal reasons.

Since her marriage to Casper VanDien broke and her grandfather died, Carrie Mitchum left the world of acting in the late 90s and chose to be just a mom for her children. She could be persuaded to return to B&B one last time in January 2001 for Brooke & Thorne's wedding because the whole original Logan cast assembled and she didn't want to stick out. But it is simply INCORRECT that Donna last appeared in 2004 since it was Nancy Sloan who plays Broke's youngest sister Katie...

As for the recast Donna: The character is SO not needed but I like Jennifer Gareis although she'll probably always be Grace THE SLUT© Turner for me.

Jennifer's a great actress...I'm sure she'll do a good job as Brooke's sister!

Knowing that the original actress declined a return makes me more accepting of this recast. I hate when soaps recast important characters with "sexier" alternatives and end up changing the entire character for the worse. (STEPHEN!)

I'd rather she return as Grace on Y&R. Brooke works best as the outsider and that has been the formula for many years. The last thing we need is a Logan revival.

I love her. Too bad I gave up B&B. I might watch her once in a blue mood.
