the only character i see right now who is being written as the be all & end of all of the show is Zach. he is involved in almost every s/l .Ryan is not even a little bit responsible for G's miscarriage that was a physical problem with her. the past can be forgiven and most of that stuff happened a long time ago. kendall was a major witch back in the day and no one gives a rip about what she did anymore. it's a soap and things are magically washed away like all the vile things, control freak Zach has done, which no long matter cuz he's such a swell guy now. the double standard of rehashing Ryan's past and justifying zach's is getting old.

One of the best parts about watching soaps is having good debate with fellow fans all around the country and world. And Mel I can understand your point of view. You are a Ryan fan it it must get tiresome coming on and reading so much negatitivity about Ryan. Well I for one over time have come to like Ryan more again... he is being written alot better than he was last year and over time they are sorta half redeeming him in my eyes. Still a long way to go but when I look at him and don't have the sudden urge to hit the TV I know somethings getting better :lol:

I can understand frustrations too :)

And I try not to bash Ryan....I do try to stay objective and get along with everyone. Heck I post on another board and two of the Ryan/Rendall fans are my 2 of my favorite 'Net buddies. Heck I'm even sporting a Rendall banner there because I made a bet and lost :lol::) {She had to sport a Zendall banner so I'm returning the favor. Hehe}

That's awesome Laurie. Like I've stated before I used to be a huge Rendall fan but I am not gonna beat a dead horse and lay out as to why I do not support them as a couple anymore.

Mel, if Erin Hersley-Presley say got the role of Annie McDermott do you think her and Cam would have chemistry? I think they could.

    • I usually don't want Tide placement in the middle of an intense sad scene, but this is an interesting point

    • Thanks!   Was anyone watching during this time? Wondering how Peggy’s rape played out onscreen. It just seems cruel to subject the Brooks family to this trauma a 2nd time.   Feels like the writers have already given up on the character of Jennifer, even though she sticks around another year-plus. She should be a passionate and fierce protective mother, but instead she seems just reactionary (and not even mentioned in this recap) This was also the case in ‘73 when Chris was raped. The writers are definitely more invested Stuart as the Brooks parent.
    • BTG got another SNL reference at 00:50  CONTEXT (so it isn't misconstrued) in this joke swap segment, Michael Che frequently makes his white cohost Colin Jost read racist jokes written by Che.

    • It's obvious that Israel's presence is a major divisive issue, and this is something that the EBU needs to deal with. According to the now published results Israel got 13 out of a possible 19 max points in the semi-final, and while their song isn't bad there's no way they would get those numbers without some kind of manipulation/political voting. They are clearly using this contest as a way of improving their somewhat tarnished reputation. I know that some people are comparing this to the massive sympathy votes that Ukraine gets and which propelled them to victory in 2022, but I feel that that was a more genuine show of support than this concerted effort from Israel to influence the televoting. I even had an ad on Youtube from Israel in Swedish(!) asking for votes! It might not be against any rules, but it feels a bit icky nonetheless.
    • Yeah, as you wrote, an Israeli win would have been a political disaster. Congratulations to Austria. 0 points from the televoting to Switzerland was a disgrace. Other than that, I really enjoyed the show ... but I'm also glad that Eurovision season is over

    • Hahaha Sorry if I was too negative, I just started typing and typing once I got going hahaha
    • @dc11786 Thanks for taking time to answer my various questions, along with giving your thoughts on the different writing teams. I wonder why they didn't just have Ryder and TR leave together if Jane was going anyway. The discussions over the last few pages have made me more interested in watching these episodes than I have been over the years - without the extra details and analyses provided, these years can be difficult to decipher (not helped by how often Jo seems like a side character).
    • I didn't think this was very good (I've never yet seen a good episode of this revival), but you do get a lot of Michael Stroka. And if you are a Donna Reed Show fan, you also get Paul Petersen.
