Happy New Year y’all 🎉🎉🎉

Today was mostly about the lead up to Javi and Leo’s wedding, so yeah I didn’t find it all that interesting, even though I admit I probably would have if it had been about any other couple. But I am looking forward to tomorrow though 😉

I wasn’t here for Leo’s pity party either. Idk if it’s the way Greg Rikaart plays it or it’s just my hatred of the character, but when Leo goes on and on about he’s unworthy, I often feel the same way that I do when RSW tries to play sincere; where it’s like he doesn’t truly feel that way and is only saying that stuff just to make the other person feel guilty or to manipulate them. Idk. But Javi did look hot throughout those scenes 😍

His suit though… 😂😂

Arianna spoke for all of us today. I’m glad that she’s still anti-Leo and so loyal to Will and Sonny. I can’t even imagine what their relationship would be like if Ron was still writing. I also like that she was able to discuss how she was feeling with Marlena. Establishing these strong relationships between Arianna and her great grandparents was a very good idea. And she finally got to have a scene with her grandfather! Hopefully, we’ll see Lucas again soon. And I definitely wouldn’t mind Ari’s dislike of Leo playing into the storyline somehow, after tomorrow 😉

I always enjoy Johnny/Chanel scenes but their disagreement today seemed a little unnecessary. I think Johnny is totally justified in fearing for Chanel’s life because of her pregnancy, so I don’t get why Chanel is this upset. I hope this isn’t the long term conflict that they choose for the two of them. Johnny vs. EJ/the Dimera’s would be better for them, IMO.

And despite Rafe in general, I did like how he was so concerned about Sydney today. He really does work well in any situation or storyline involving Sami’s kids. I kinda liked the way that Cat comforted him too. And that he had concerns about Leo too.

Cwikly and Ford really know how to screw up formerly entertaining characters. Leo was insufferable today. Bad bad writing for the character. It’s not Greg’s fault. Dee and Greg tried to sell the crappy script but they did not succeed.

These headwriters are terrible. There’s no real drama and they are ruining well defined characters. Days used to be in Peacock’s Top 10 shows all the time when Ron was the headwriter and now it cannot be found in their Top 15 shows. New writers, please.

All of it was awful. What a terrible episode to start the year. The writing is horrific, but I'm not letting Greg Rikaart off the hook, either. He plays everything in a cheeky way, and it doesn't work. It isn't cute.

I love DH, but the idea that Marlena has to give Leo these lessons on love is pathetic. It's cringe to me in every way. Leo's nervousness is ridiculous.

Cwikly and Ford are not working. We're stuck with them for the time being, but overall, I find the show boring and the pacing to be way off.

Paula Cwikly and Jeanne Marie Ford are solid head writers; they've definitely brought a sense of family and familiarity back to CHARACTER as opposed to plot-driven drivel. However, what they do lack is story and intrigue. Hopefully that comes in the next month or two, but that is truly what is missing from their stories.

The last time days was in the top 10 was John's funeral

Not much happened today, even though it was a long one. 44 minutes.

But as much as I hate Leo, the Javi/Leo pairing and the fact that they’re getting married so quickly without having to go through any good conflict and drama, that was a good cliffhanger. And not just for the obvious reason.

Speaking of that obvious reason, welcome back Peter Porte!! 😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍

I knew that we would be seeing him again sooner or later. That’s just the way Days is lol. And despite how disgusted I was and how much I utterly despised Dimitri’s storyline and pairing in 2023, and am still very worried about what might happen now, I’m so happy to see him. Peter Porte/Dimitri was completely wasted back then. Definitely one of the most wasted actors and characters that Days ever had. Despite the storyline, you could tell how talented and charismatic he was and he never got the chance to really show it. Hopefully, he’ll get that chance now, despite my concerns. Paula/Jeanne have a lot of flaws but at least they don’t let their toxic qualities write the show for them, and also don’t get a sick pleasure out of humiliating some characters.

And personally, I’m just so glad to see his beautiful face on a soap again 😍😍😊😊

I’m looking forward to seeing what happens next week!

Overall, today’s episode was pretty romantic too. The wedding wasn’t bad either actually. And honestly, I probably would’ve loved it if it had been for any couple other than Javi/Leo 😂😂😂

Btw, congratulations Stephanie and Alex… even though they’re still kinda boring and need a better storyline.

And yeah just a reminder, Chad already has a gay bestie and Marlena already has a bestie, in general, and it’s not Leo 😂😂
