The character imo needs these type of days and moments to not just feel like a clown though Trisha does do both very well. TMG is great. Here's where I need the writing to help her out and make me believe this softer side is not an act.
November 4Nov 4 Member My guess is that Vernon is getting singing lessons from Sharon. We heard him singing -- badly -- earlier in the episode. We also know that in real life, Clifton Davis knows music. He wrote the song "Never Can Say Goodbye" which was a huge hit for the Jackson 5 and for Gloria Gaynor. I wouldn't be surprised if Vernon sings that to Anita at Winterfest.

November 4Nov 4 Member Yeah, I know he's lying, but GET HER, DEREK!!!! NAIL THAT INDECISIVE HARPY TO THE WALL!

Clifton Davis is still a good looking guy even at 80, but damn, was he fine in the 70s when he was on the comedy That's My Mama.
November 4Nov 4 Member Well since the other thread was shut down as I was replying... @ranger1rg...you're welcome. Your post are always fair and ususally 50/50 with food for thought. Keep them coming. PS. And thank you for the compliment. We might not agree on many things, but at least we agree on Josh Morrow's bubble. @Maxim awww thank you as well. Looking forward to more of the fab Hayley posts.

November 4Nov 4 Member First of all...we are getting an EVVVVVVVVVVVVVENNNNNNNNNNNNNT!!!! I know those first few months spoiled me because we were getting an event a week and things happened at each one. And then...they stopped with the anniversary party. I think my mind is going blank, but outside of the Articulates concert and Chelesa's kidnapping...which was more a plot story than a social event...when was our last event? Come on through Winterfest. That said...I felt today's episode was off. I can't put my finger on why. It was setting up a lot which I like. And C plot Dark Derek was giving because Derek confronting Ashley on her dragging feet was loooooong overdue whether he is lying to her or not...he ain't wrong. And then there was Jacob and Naomi... And now that I have some time on that...I wanted to see the storyline play out a little bit more before I made a comment. But now? Just ugh. I think we all know I like Jacob and Naomi as a couple. Good guy. Good girl. Potential conflict due to her family and his ethics. And they look great together and you can't tell me that man don't love that woman. But so far...every time this show seem like it's about to give them a story (as in story about one of them or them dealing with some as a couple)...it comes to an abrupt story stop. Naomi and the lawsuit would have been a good spotlight for who she is as a person. It was stopped. When Naomi thought she was preggers and didn't want the baby while Jacob did, I was kinda of excited because it was something different...new for them, but I can't recall a soap where a couple fought over this in this way where one of the parties didn't give in or have a sudden change of heart and went for it. So...it was a refreshing story turn. And then...Naomi wasn't. And Jacob...actually felt a way. Now...Naomi is being too unreasonable for me. And she needs to quit. It would be one thing if Jacob was coming across as a jerk. But...HE'S NOT. So every time she has a moment, I can't help, but find myself siding with Jacob. And knowing that Izaiah was watching them as his intro scene and ran into Naomi first...does make me worry since the tension between Jacob and Naomi is still there. I do feel the writers have done such a good job with Jacob and Naomi's mess along with the Dark Derek storyline that it was nice to see the tension between all four of them today and the undercurrent of drama going on when on the surface it was just about Derek making one phone call. Them landmines. I like how they are using Winterfest to give us another Anita/Vernon story. They have been setting it up for an event. But going back to my A story template, it has been noticeable that outside of Hayley's reveal, they are letting Dani/Bill/Hayley flow, but heading to a simmer. Given all the things going on with Silk Press Sheila and how they have her showing a sympathetic side on an extended basis FINALLY, I have started to wonder if they are setting her up for a fall at last. She is finally making in-roads, too. And how Anita seems like she just hasss to include a Barbara mention will only bring SPS there like a moth to the flame. Add the increased presence of Laura...which reminds the audience of the fact of how we were introduced to SPS as THE villain...continues to make me wonder if the show is slowly but surely circling back around to Laura's accident. As for the Sharon cliffhanger at the end...I'm sure Vernon is planning something for Anita with her. It was like puzzle pieces, but not a complete picture today. Not bad. Just off.
November 4Nov 4 Member Of course, a Ron Carlivati episode would start with a guy looking all hot 😂😂 Vanessa is definitely trying to infiltrate Joey's organization as a way of bringing him down. As for Jacob and Naomi, this storyline is not doing her any favors, and making Jacob look like the bad guy isn't helping either. I think this storyline would work better if Jacob and Naomi were an engaged couple, or even newlyweds. As a married couple, they really should have had these conversations about children already.
November 4Nov 4 Member date: Tuesday, November 4, 2025 | Ron Carlivati, Cheryl L. Davis | Phideaux Xavier Anastasia is back! I wonder what kind of 'procedure' she got. I am sure it was elective. The con artist child bride is dumb as a brick; Randy may have cut the security cameras, but surely Joey has the casino itself bugged for audio. He is not dumb. Hmm... something about having his photograph taken is off-putting to Andre. I truly wonder why. Damn. The con artist child bride is heartless as frick and jealous, too. She needs to do some serious soul searching. So, Winterfest is celebrating its twentieth anniversary? So it began in 2005. How sweet. Chelsea's recap of the Jacob and Naomi situation was short and to the point, and it worked for me. I appreciate that Nicole keeps the professional lines crossed; it is refreshing to see in daytime. I appreciate the Dani backstory from Pamela's perspective. It is refreshing, and I love her loyalty to Dani. It feels like Joey and Vanessa are getting more daring with their public appearances. IT is very interesting... but Vanessa as the head of the escort business? I know it is an attempt to shut her down, but I do feel like she would excel as the head! So, it is confirmed: Diego, who works at the country club, also works for Joey (well, now Madame Vanessa). How interesting is that? I am not surprised Jacob and Naomi are having their rough spot; since the beginning, they have seemed tighter than tight, so hiccups were bound to happen. What a fantastic idea, Nicole! Both of those ideas are solid and could be very helpful for Jacob. Look at Madame Vanessa asserting herself. Hilarious. Get him, Joey! Get him! Not hiding the poison in her chest. JFC. Ridiculousness. Notes: Ugh. Not a breakdown by the writer. Argh. Between him and writer2 it is painful to watch. Once again, I really like the café set that we are getting. It is intimate, cute, and feels familiar. Nicole might be the most professional therapist in American daytime soaps. The same cannot be said for Marlena Evans. I like that even though the focus is not on her, we can still see Timeca Seretti (Anastasia) eyeing both Joey and Vanessa. Not the 'hide the pickle' reference. I love that it was made. Davis is so smart for that.
November 4Nov 4 Member Just started today's show and already I'm howling. -- Anastasia's return was perfect camp. She's so ridiculous, yet perfect for someone to go after a ridiculous mobster like Golden Corral Mobster Joey Armstrong. -- Joey in that "Don't All Mobsters Wear Leather To The Country Club?" sportcoat. He's such a lowlife wannabe. -- Love the difference in the way Dani is dressed compared to Hayley. Dani's outfit is model-chic perfection, while Hayley looks like a hoochie mama on her way to the club because she wants free drinks. -- And what would a Ron Carlivati-written episode be without one of our members again saying the breakdown is awful -- without providing a single reason. 😂
