Dear members,

In November, the SON Community will undergo a design revamp with the release of Invision Community 5, marking the first significant update to the forum software since the release of Invision Community 4, which was installed over a decade ago.

As a result, particular features/services, including SendGrid, our automatic email service provider, will be permanently removed. 

New Experiences:

• Modern interface
• Built-in dark mode
• New layout modes
• New post editor
• Topic summaries
• Community experts
• Tags & content discovery

To accomplish this, there will be an expected short period of downtime for the SON Community. This will enable us to make the necessary updates and changes, allowing the community to continue thriving after more than 24 years since its original launch as an ezBoard on October 8, 2001.

I'm not seeing anything but my name up top on the far right. When I click it it gives me the usual profile dropdown menu but no sign of PMs or those icons. What am I doing wrong?

ETA: Never mind - they're there but literally invisible. I had to mouse over them to get a pop up of what they are. The icons above are not visible to me. Nor was the edit button on this post, lol. I just ghosted the mouse over where it usually is, and it said 'edit' so I clicked.

This might be due to a cache issue. I had that problem for quite a while before I turned the boards back online, as it was the kink I mentioned in the notice. The solution is to clear your browser cache, which may log you out of the site.

Source code as an option was removed completely with the revamped forum software. However, inline code is the best replacement for what most people would need in terms of using HTML.

I will have to figure it out, because it is completely different visually from what the source code option was. 🫠 Feels like the definition of "if it ain't broke, don't fix it".

So far so good! MUCH faster too. The large banner ads that were buggy in the middle of the screen are gone, which I love. The ad experience is SO much better and makes everything faster for me. I hope it continues, don't want to jinx it haha.
