Dear members,

In November, the SON Community will undergo a design revamp with the release of Invision Community 5, marking the first significant update to the forum software since the release of Invision Community 4, which was installed over a decade ago.

As a result, particular features/services, including SendGrid, our automatic email service provider, will be permanently removed. 

New Experiences:

• Modern interface
• Built-in dark mode
• New layout modes
• New post editor
• Topic summaries
• Community experts
• Tags & content discovery

To accomplish this, there will be an expected short period of downtime for the SON Community. This will enable us to make the necessary updates and changes, allowing the community to continue thriving after more than 24 years since its original launch as an ezBoard on October 8, 2001.

Thank you @Errol! I'm gagging about the DARK mode, since SON is the only site I don't have it on... and that will SAVE my eyes literally. YEEEEEEEEES. 

Can't wait! 

I am excited for the new UI. I saw them post it (as I operate an Invision board myself), and it looks so damn good!

I didn't see an "unread" button at the top of the page.
But then I saw that "unread content" is within the "MORE" dropdown menu inside the banner at the top of the page. Thank you.

I actually like this new format. It seems more mobile friendly too.

Kudos to @Errol for this. IP5 is actually quite beautiful and very seamless. The board feels faster, and I will certainly have to adjust to how some things are visually. But overall, amazing! However, does "Source code" not exist on IP5? Is it now "Inline code"?
