Watching Chelsea and Tomas in the same scene highlighted how much RR has come from the premiere and AA is still giving us absolutely nothing. They can switch him out with AI at this point.

I really used to have no use for her as Chelsea but she’s definitely come a long way.

The same thing happened to Chelsea that happened to Martin a few months earlier.

Neither of them (RhonniRose or Brandon) was very good in the first weeks of the show.  Someone on the board pointed out in the initial episodes that Brandon Claybon delivered all his lines like a Southwest Airlines flight attendant telling us where the emergency exits are located in the aircraft 😉 ) Chelsea wasn't much better.

Late in the spring, Martin was given a storyline in which he was required to express fear, desperation, anger, remorse -- sometimes all in the same scene.  At times he did fine, and at other times he was pretty awful.  But by the time the storyline came to its temporary conclusion, he was like a whole new actor.  He found his character, he found his range, and now he exudes the confidence of an actor who knows what he's doing.

Chelsea got the same treatment during the kidnapping storyline.  She had to express a host of different emotions all in the same scenes.  It was a tough job.  Sometimes she was good; other times she came across as an absolute amateur.  But by the time she was rescued and brought home, RhonniRose's confidence in her character and in her talent range had increased 100%.

Those two storylines were the best experiences that could have possibly happened to those two actors.  They were "baptized by fire", and they survived it.

I hope we're not subjected to a storyline like that with Alex Alegria.  lol.  It won't do any good.

I just don’t think the level of bad that Alex Alegria is is even fixable 😂. Not even the best acting coaches in the world could get him to show an ounce of emotion. But you’re right RR and BC definitely were baptized by fire and now fully incapsulate and live in their roles.

@Taoboi If you want to see TMG play a much less clowny character but still has some of the fire of Leslie, I really recommend the show The Family Business.

I might take you up on that. TMG is too good to keep being reduced to a clown. Let Leslie have layers as she feuds/fights.

I agree with all you said, but especially this. I really loved a lot of RR's subtle work post-kidnapping. A lot of people know I loved her since her diva hair toss during the photoshoot hehe, but there were layers going on that I felt intuned to her doing.

I did laugh when she walked in and called her Auntie Nita today 😭

well, I didn't say she couldn't have wit or be sarcastic. I love those kind of characters. And I giggled at her playing mocking Eva today, but that was an isolated incident. The writers need to keep her with some layers.

I think she needs to have some more obstacles. She was initially this huge suspect for Jacob and the cops and it just never went anywhere. Hell she’s rich now and even if Ted claims he doesn’t want her, his drunk ass still let her in his hotel room and banged her again.

-- That top on Eva and that jacket on Leslie did not work.

--The clownery with Leslie was too much today. I'm guessing that some of that isn't written, but is added by TMG. It's a mistake. Every other line she has with Eva turns into a clown show.

-- I do not like at all the way the Duprees are allowing Leslie into their lives. Vernon said they "have to let her in." To Fairmont Crest, yeah. Into their front door, no. It is absolutely ridiculous. These two have fire for others but Leslie gets this treatment like she's some sweet thing who's a little off?

-- Leslie's teardown and construction began already? Wow...she knows all the right people! I guess the mansion will be finished by next week.

-- OTOH, let's hope those lines about Leslie not having a project manager and someone supervising construction mean this entire building process will be a nightmare.

-- Nicole defending Eva to Kat was a bit much. The truth is that Kat HAS been right all along about Eva. Nicole is pathetically understanding to Eva.

-- Why are Kat's family members not telling her to be glad skank cheater Tomas is out of her life? Why in the living hell would any of them want NoMas with her?

-- Good scenes with Smitty and Martin, but it's kind of hilarious that Martin thinks turning himself in will make their lives better. LOL

Tomas literally cheated on her with her sister right after a fight and her family isn’t doing backflips to be rid of him, it’s so weird. But they also pretty much love Bill again while Ted’s cheating 30 years ago and then completely recommitting to their relationship is the end of the world.

Yep to all of that. THE DUPREES are a hypocritical mess. Their sanctimony and self-righteousness is embarrassing.

Ooo also Valerie P.(Amy on Y&R) plays the badass matriarch. It’s given me a newfound appreciation for her as it’s a COMPLETE departure from Amy. Eva La Rue is also around for the first 3 seasons too!

It reminds me of the Newmans on Y&R but at least Vernon doesn’t treat his kids like shi.t for fun like Victor has done forever now.
