I was confused by what Hayley was insinuating to Naomi about her miscarriage.

I recall that Hayley originally claimed to be pregnant but it was a false alarm, yet shortly after she got pregnant "for real." There was also the cramping scare that led her to the hospital the first time where she denied an ultrasound. Was she claiming that one of those instances is where she lost her baby or that her carelessness during the first scare may have caused the miscarriage this time?

Either way, it is clear she is lying, but the motive just seems so empty.

I am having a hard time caring for most of these stories, they just seem so limp and deflated of any real urgency or strong emotion. They kind of just are. Doesn't help that there's an actor/character I don't care for much in most of these stories. But it's not even that, questionable acting has been seen time and again on daytime, many times it feels like something is missing. I can't put my finger on it.

Also, couldn't they have made the cliffhanger Ashley walking in on Andre and Dani. Why did they go beyond that in today's episode, we could have seen it play out next week.

So the previews... I wonder who the older lady is that shows up at Leslie's house? That looks fun. Otherwise, seems like Naomi and Jacob assume June is the mother, like we assumed. That's starting to fall a bit flat for me, but I guess we'll see how the kids react once they know. Maybe this is what brings Smitty/Martin back together.

It's tiiiiiiiiiiiiiiime!!!

And I do like that they picked up right where they left off.

And hmm...So RC has written the breakdowns for most of this week. Interesting.

lol it would be crazy if that was Barbara who comes out of hiding after she saw the Articulettes and confronts her daughter Leslie about how her revenge against the Duprees to get what’s owed to them is going

I don't know...I am liking the turn/progression that the Doug/Vanessa/Joey storyline has taken.

Naomi, really!!!! If you don't blow that heffa out of the water...

Randy involved in TWO stories? YES, PLEASE.

Jan sitting here with Tank-Top Derek and playing a meddling mom. It's not Mary Williams, but I am liking it.

Ahhhhhhh not Hayley admitting she got that picture from the internet. And now I'm rolling at Naomi talking to her about her motivation!!! Are we sure those writers are spying on this board? 😎

Well, I'm happy that Andre is there for Dani at least.

I hate to say it, but I am actually liking this Ashley/Derek conversation. Finally, she's not being neurotic, but verbally expressing herself. Meanwhile, Derek is not being the himbo, but finding the words to say how he feels...and kinda seeing his worth, too. Cute. Sidenote...I do like Derek has almost always had Andre's number.

I see my love-to-hate for Hayley will continue. So...November Sweeps for the reveal?

Well, good to see that that's it for Derek/Ashley. Still not here for Dani/Andre/Ashley, buuuuut it does have firmer legs now. Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhh not Ashley FINALLY finding out Dani is the OTHER woman.

Let the games begin. Nice cliffhanger.

And next week...FINALLY, the next turn in the SilkPress storyline coming. Actually it looks like all the A stories are about to take a turn as expected by Month 6.

In regards to the Doug/Vanessa/Joey story... I'm wondering if Vanessa is slyly playing Joey and Doug out of revenge for Doug's debts leading her to laundry money to save his behind and to Joey for making her fall for him and admitting he was manipulating her.   There is an old saying that nothing is scarier then a woman's scorned.

While the Hayley 'miscarriage' is a cover up... I do like that Dani is suffering from guilt for once.  Ironic she's suffering guilt for something she didn't actually do... not because she pulled a gun out at a wedding and throws tantrums when she doesn't get her way.

Seeing yesterday how Jacob's dad gas lit him... it makes perfect sense why he seems willing to be dominated by a domineering Naomi.  I'll be honest that I wish that MVJ would have beefed up Jacob's family and left some of the Dupree family branches off screen.

Is Jan pro Derek because she thinks he's right for Ashley... or because she kind of likes what she sees?  Jan's an attractive woman in the prime of her life and she would value someone like Derek... I bet Ashley would think Shanice being with Derek wouldn't so bad as long as he wasn't with her mom LOL

Previews for next week look interesting with Kat/Tomas/Eva being focused on plus the older woman showing up on Silk Press Sheila's doorstep (finally something different for her to play).

Also, I'm confused about the Hayley arc.  Not only because we didn't get her POV.. but because the motivation is off, the pacing is off, and it just seems to have been generated because the writers realized they had nothing for Hayley to do while Bill and Dani had separate stories going on.

And the sad thing is that she had opportunity for other stories. Hayley could have been more with Caroline. Or they could have explored Hayley and Derek getting closer and making Ashley even more neurotic than she already was. It was definitely a missed opportunity and just like with Ashley's personality, Hayley's kept changing between woe-is-me and gold-digger without anything concrete coming through. But I've waxed poetic on that way too many times the past few months because Dani/Bill/Hayley is my least favorite of the A stories.

Heck, she didn't come alive until Bill winded up in the hospital and even that is a slight reach for why she would fake a pregnancy. Unless she is going to owe that she was that insecure about the power the ex-wife can have over the ex-husband even after the breakup. I liked the writers seem to get that today given the words that were coming out of Naomi's mouth, but it felt too little too late.

I don't have a problem with rotating stories in terms of focus (i.e. Plot A, Plot B, etc)... but the show is still trying to figure out the timing to which the rotate the stories.

For instance, the Silk Press Sheila situation has been oddly paced.. and I'm not talking about the Nicole/Ted/Eva/Kat situation... but the Laura hit and run arc.  If the show insists on keeping the character on the show, it wasn't smart of them to focus so much on the Laura situation(i.e. search warrant, Eva keeping the evidence in her room, etc) so soon.. that should have been something that could have waited to be revisited until later (i.e as we were getting close to the end of season 1).

Oh, I was agreeing. Sometimes they got it. Sometimes they did not. Not helped by them seeming to stall stories. I think they should let it rip and allow them to flow and err a little bit better. It just happens to work better for them (from what I can tell) when they are focused on  one of their main stories (which are really 3) with the other stories littered around that. It's when they don't have a creative reason for pushing a story back, that the flow seems to suffer. That or when a new story has had no time to really build. I do hope they find the right rhythm. Not hating it, but it could be better.

I definitely feel everything post-anniversary story for the SilkPress storyline has been oddly paced. Before that, it was the best paced really. But now even I am sitting here wondering if Jacob is going to get that test done. Or when they are going to remember that Shanice can verify that SilkPress was Lulu. I thought that the test taking time would have been their clever and realistic way to stall the story at first, but then it abruptly stopped to focus on SilkPress just being a cartoon instead and I started to side-eye a little bit. Definitely feels like an attempt to keep the actress rather than story flow.

In time. ;) I really feel she will eventually.

I really liked it as well. It was giving classic heroine for a change for Dani. It might even bring back the Drunk Dani thread that has vanished.
