Is Kenneth really sitting at Martin's dining room table playing chess with Tyrell, or is Martin hallucinating?

With it being a Ron Carlivati episode I can only imagine that was a fantasy but definitely was a surprising cliffhanger.

I appreciate Naomi caring about June.

I love this June storyline. It feels very old school soap.

If the Joey/Doug/Vanessa story along with the Martin secret are Guza contributed ideas... then I'm going to miss him because those are the best stories right now.  It seems like old school soap with a bit of sleaze/darkness without the earnestness of the other parts of the soap.

I don't think Randy killed Kenneth either. But boy was I excited when Doug walked in with a backbone. I pray nothing happens to either character. I enjoyed their friendship on the show. And I hope they build on their history.

Lol. I got you but it's actually the one storyline since the Nicole/Ted/Leslie debacle that I seem to be interested in. I just hope it's not some dud of an outcome.

My thoughts exactly. Clearly, the standout storylines since the show premiered.

I agree. 🫶🏿 I also wanna see them dive into Joey's escort service.

I don't like Guza sleaze/darkness.  And can't stand Joey.

I do hope the Martin secret storyline circles back to Nicole's reaction to it all.

Well, let me get started by saying that now that I know what's under that suit per this weekend, Jacob's father suuuuuure can get it. lol.

I am soooooo happy the show is back. But the week off definitely hurt the momentum of the stories. There were definitely a lot of stories going on and it was a struggle to keep up...something I'm not used to with this show. Or it could be that the A story of Martin's Secret was not as focused has it has been for the past four three weeks.

That said...I did love that there was a sense of 'closing in' in terms of the plot though. Smitty's investigation leading to tea about a link between Vernon and Marcel. That Jacob and his father scene setting up some stakes between them...which honestly makes me think that post-reveal will probably be when we finally see Jacob's mother and his fellow cop brother...who is probably a bad boy. The status of Joey, Randy (hey, Randy, hey! nice bubble), and Kenny. The fact that husband and husband are now keeping something from the other officially. And Martin's hallucinations/paranoia increasing even more. It's turning into a perfect storm.

Doug/Vanessa/Joey are always going to give good B plot. I can believe Vanessa would be daydreaming about him cuz...VANESSA. But now Joey is thinking about her, too? Uh oh. And Doug trying to use his BFF against Joey?? It is about to get messy.

I didn't get around to saying it last week, so I don't mind saying it this week. I love that we are getting a triangle with Chelesa. I didn't like how fast Chelesa and Madison were moving...and I appreciate Dani owning up to her pushing them into that Vernon meet...but I do like them. They have a good vibe. I enjoy both. And now they are in a potential triangle. I don't think I've seen a triangle between three black women and it's refreshing. And Allison is coming across a bit crazy, too. So I didn't mind it having B plot status this episode after being (well-deserved cuz it needs time) C plot status last week.

THANK YOU SOAP GODS!!!! What am I talking about? Giving me a Dani/Vanessa scene. I have gotten used to Dani with Pamela, but Dani/Vanessa just...fit. Speaking of which, loved Vernon/Dani having another little scene where Dani showed how well she can read her father, too. And now Vernon knows about her and Andre? lol. I love how this is coming out.

Wait, wait, wait!!!! The June storyline...which has also been a C plot...got a little bit of movement??? I think the writers have done a good job of making me care about her as a person. And I definitely care because I love Jacob probably too much and Naomi so I would care that they care. And the picture June cares about has a phone number?? And Naomi called it to be hung up on. Oooo the plot thickens.

And good cliffhanger today. Though I'm sure it's Martin hallucinating again.

We back!!!

Mike Manning is doing a great job as a reporter.

I think he is, too. He's giving me what I like to see when Chance is on a case on Y&R

-- Joey's casino was closed? And there was a sign saying it was "CLOSED"? I thought casinos were open 24/7.

-- Did Randy kill Kenny? I doubt it, but either way, we should have seen Randy/Kenny scenes on screen. If you want me to believe there's real danger to this story, I need to see it -- not have Randy show up and hear Joey say "Good job."

-- So all those guys in on Martin's story were also in on Joey deep-sixing Kenny? They had a big secret meeting to come up with "Kill Kenny"?

-- Vanessa being in heat for Joey is gagworthy.

-- Smitty's scenes were the best of the episode, and Mike Manning gets etra credit for those pumped biceps.

-- The Alison story with Chelsea is poorly written. More scenes were needed to build SOME kind of relationship between Alison and Chelsea. We were shown very little: Chelsea getting infatuated with Alison on a couple dates, and that's it. We got NO sign that Alison was taken with Chelsea to that degree.

-- Now Alison -- after telling Chelsea she was married and committed -- is all of a sudden in a panic over Chelsea??? Huh???

-- Also bad: Chelsea saying she couldn't cheat on Madison, that she couldn't do that to her when they were in a relationship. Isn't Chelsea the one who didn't give a damn about Alison's marriage?

-- What was up with Tyrell's dialogue? Every other word was slang. Talk about overdoing it.

Lots to unpack here. I think CBS might have wanted to hold back these episodes from airing during a holiday week because it already seems like there will be a lot going on that needs maximum viewer attention.

Allison is definitely going to be unhinged and start stalking Chelsea. Her whole demeanor was giving a few steps from unstable.

Martin hallucinating would certainly be a good way to add more repercussions to this story.

Vernon wouldn't have ordered a hit, but it's clear that Joey plays by his own rules. Or maybe Vernon is more dangerous than we thought and they are on the same page.

I am so happy BTG is back and yesterday's episode didn't disappoint. I love Smitty and I'm really happy he's getting into the thick of things with Martin's secret. I can't wait for it all to come out.

Same; it was so exciting for episodes to return... and it felt worth the extended break.

Yesterday's return was fine. I feel that the week-long wait built some anticipation, but the episode didn't meet that expectation or deliver anything too exciting. Not that it wasn't a decent episode, but it might have felt different had we not waited so long. Waiting to see what plays out today.
