Pretty much everything on Bold since end of 2019. Something happened during the COVID era... and the show never recovered. Not that it was some masterpiece before that, but it was a corpse that used to have few heartbeats a year.

2020-2025, there's just no pulse anymore. It's a zombie of a show. A caricature of it's former self. Not 1 storyline decision makes sense. It seems that Bradley is writing the show on autopilot. Every few weeks we get a horror movie twist. Then every few months everything is nulled and back at starting point. Bold didn't use to be like that. Not to that extent. It was deeply rotten, yes, but...  it was the taboo sex show where you can indulge yourself in watching stupid men and women.

What he's done after 2020 is nightmarish. The show completely lost it's atmosphere and became a bad Lifetime thriller that repeats the same dialogue 5 days a week.  Too much creepy stuff, disgusting images of feet without toes, shootings next to piles of trash, creepy mints, serial killers, figures watching from the distance, idiotic stalkers... Deacon googling what is SUGAR.

Need I say more.

AMC

Not making JR and Jamie, the true romantic leads, of the show in the 2000s. Having them both play second fiddle to others when they are the legacy of the show helped kill it.

Not utilizing Brooke and the Tyler/Wallingford family more in the last decade or two.

Sending Ross Chandler packing and killing Will Cortlandt. I will understand or like those decisions. This would have saved the show from having a revolving door of dead-end baddies in the '90s because having both of Palmer's sons as the resident rascals interests me so much more.

@Paul Raven I piggyback on the Victor Newman overload. I think his whole family is played out.

B&B

Not investing in Felicia Forrester the way they should have. I wish my FiFi were around right now, stirring up a mess.

BTG

Recasting Ted Richardson. A pointless recast, I might add. I fell in love with Maurice from the first moment he walked on screen, and now that he is gone, I don't have a favorite couple or male character anymore.

Same thing when there's been references to Sami and Belle's past. DAYS arguably has the worst cases of SORAS, especially since some of those characters share pivotal history when one of them were infants.

I think it's also worse with DAYS because some of these characters who are rapidly aged stay around for a long time, which means the absurdity builds up as their kids and their grandkids are aged.

We're at a point now where, if the show stays on for a few more years, Kate is probably going to be a great-great-grandmother.

DAYS has always been soap opera's answer to "Maury," lol.

It's awful. Admittedly, you make this sound more interesting than the show has felt for me in a long time.

Feet without toes...what would Sally Spectra have said.

I would suggest that DAYS pre-Carly Buried Alive did not fit with either Maury or Jerry Springer. That's where in my mind I draw a line. The wackiest thing before then was, arguably the dog wedding, right? And, it was wacky but harmless. From Buried Alive & then on to Demonic Possession we stay wacky but leave harmless back in the dust.

DAYS

Not nurturing the Hortons. They should always have been a priority.

Firstly, aging David and Mike too quickly.

Now after a decade they needed new young characters but Steve Olsen would have been perfect for David's stories and aging Mike a little bit to say 12 would have made him old enough to react to all the Bill/Laura/Mickey stuff.

For Mike's stories give Maggie a younger brother that she has been caring for. The Hortons become the family he never had.

That leaves Mike and David available in the 80's.

Once the 80's rolled around the older Hortons were slowly dropped.

A half hearted attempt was made to bring on Sandy.

Steve would have been perfect to be involved with the DiMera's as he was in Europe and had shady connections.

Even offscreen, the Horton relatives should have been mentioned and visited. eg Johsua and Jessica have a son. Tom and Alice visit offscreen and mention him. Planting seeds for the future.

I agree with all of this. I especially agree with bringing on a younger brother for Maggie and having him have all of Mike's stories. What name would be good for him though?

Maggie only a Horton through marriage. We never knew any of her family members. If we want Mike Horton's stories, why not just bring him back?

There could be books written on this subject.

Texas: Making Iris the romantic heroine.

Days: Killing off Renee (Philece Sampler). The Renee/Tony/Anna triangle was fire for me when I was a kid. Plus, Renee could have been a strong, lead Dimera for decades.

AW:

Firing George Reinholdt and Jacquie Courtney

Hiring David Canary and Linda Borgeson to try and revive the Alice/Steve/Rachel triangle.

Writing out the Matthews family.

(Personal opinion) Not making Nancy Frangione a featured character for the long haul and rival to Rachel and Donna. They turned Cecile into a cartoon at times with her obsession for Cass instead of the early drama for Cecile (Jamie, Blaine, Sandy).

Not keeping Harding Lemay after the strike. (1988?) His short touch for the show improved it greatly.

Having Jake rape Marley.

Killing Ryan and Frankie. Ryan/Vicky, Cass/Frankie should have been endgame. As Jake/Paulina. Never liked Joe or his family.

There are so many for AW. It could be a study all its own. lol

I agree. Killing Renee in hindsight was pretty short-sighted. I mean, I'm not hating that Philece got a nice voiceover career out of her leaving Days, but I really wish that she was able to come back at least one more time before she passed. I would've paid big money to see her face off against Megan. Stupid Ken Corday.

I do not have a problem with George or Virginia Dwyer. Jacquie Courtney so wrong & she was the only Alice I believed in!!!

I always thought that there was NO WAY Jake would rape either one of the twins!!!! I was so pleased when I found out that Donna Swajeskie agreed.
