Neat episode. But a clear Thursday episode.

I agree. I didn't feel bored and Naomi not getting her chance (and Smitty today) was a way to keep the Martin's Secret storyline firmly in front as the A story, but background for one episode. Like a Thursday episode lol. Of course, it helped watching TT do her thing. She is just THAT good.

Same. I wasn't bored one bit. I am looking forward to more family scenes like that with the family throwing shade over the dinner table for the holiday scenes.

I remember in the premiere episode that I sense some underlying tension/hostility between Dani and Nicole... and I noticed Anita's face change to one of judgement/resentment when Vernon was doting on Dani.   And I thought to myself 'I need the backstory for this'... .and was kind of disappointed that Nicole/Dani were being close sisters after that initial first episode and Anita not displaying a dismissive tone when it came to Dani.

Now I'm noticing that we're getting a revisit to those initial first scenes in the premiere episode... and I wonder if Anita/Nicole/Dani is the 2020s answer to Y & R's Lillie Bell/Olivia/Dru with Lillie Bell favoring Olivia and resenting Dru because she wasn't planned.   It could explain why Dani is so extra and so prone to emotional outbursts.. because Nicole was the favored child that got all the accolades/attention of Anita with Vernon being extra doting/enabling of Dani because deep down he knew that Anita favored Nicole (my guess is that Dani was an unplanned pregnancy).

And I think Nicole's letting repressed anger/resentment come to the surface.. and I wonder if eventually some of that anger/resentment will be directed to her parents.

Nicole was way out of line and looked completely ridiculous. Like St. Daniel Jonas sanctimonious ridiculous.

Whatever that prompt was Kat told Eva to ignore on the computer is going to come back as a problem and Eva will say Kat set her up.

Martin and Smitty were so sweet today. That final scene was one of their nicest scenes to date 😊😊

Now, if we can get more than just a kiss from them...

Procter and Gamble had a table at a Juneteenth celebration close to where I live. When I told the people running the table that I watch Beyond the Gates that P&G produces they didn't know what I was talking about, but tried to play it off. I almost felt dumb for mentioning it.

The idea of Anita being so missed after... a week? that she has to return for one on one check ins with her extended brood is hysterical.  And I'm here for it.

I also am enjoying how petty Nicole has been.  I have a well regarded shrink in my extended family--who I haven't had much interaction with during my life (mostly just because I'm much younger and she's always lived on the other side of the country.)  But from all I've heard, she is the most to quick to judge other family members.

Y & R and B & B could get away with a week of repeats because they have built in loyalty... but BTG has only been on for four months and loyalty is still being built so bad move on a week of repeats for a new soap.

 

-- A week of repeats this early in the show's run is nuts. That's just clueless.

-- Ashley. Does. Not. Work.  I feel bad for the actress, but she doesn't fit, and someone at this show insists on forcing her on us. She has ZERO chemistry with Andre. That conversation today with Andre was CRINGE. He fed her ONE LINE and she gave him back those puppy dog eyes and said he always Iknows what to say. What the fck.

-- So stupid that Andre hangs around that nurses desk all day, and that Ashley -- who's supposed to be working -- has all this time for extended conversations about dating.

-- I like Eva vs Kat, but i do wish the entire setup of running the office was better written. None of this "Kat will show you what to do" stuff is believable. And didn't Eva completely overhaul the system for NIcole to the point where Laura was lost??? Now Eva is clueless. OK.

-- I liked Anita being OK with Dani dating Andre, but I thought some of the language from Dani was disrespectful to Anita. She was THISCLOSE to saying "I ride Andre's Big D every night."

-- I might be alone in this, but I really struggle listening to Chelsea's baby girl voice. Make it stop.

-- Glad to see Smitty and Martin kiss. Still waiting for that sex scene.
