But as has been mentioned...we haven't gotten to those episodes post-feedback to see if they listened to the feedback yet so it's a moot point. At least for now.

I thought the show seemed to be floundering the month leading up to the engagement party which at times was downright boring, but since then, they seemed to have found a rhythm that mostly works. I would still slightly pick up some of the pace though or make some of the smaller story beats "bigger" if that makes sense. Sometimes there feels like there's a lack of strong "OMG" drama beats.

The one thing that the show is still missing, IMO, is a pair of star-crossed lovers. We really don't have much romance on this show much less a couple we're rooting to get together who are being kept apart by outside sources. For me, this is an essential soap element that the show doesn't have. Since most characters are related to each other in some way, I don't even think there are two characters that could be paired with each other in this way. I think Kat/Tomas/Eva has some potential for a triangle, but that's about it.

Does anyone else find there's a lack of romance on this soap?

I aint mad at it. Criticisms are valid yes, but a lot of folks do too damn much and need to be told to chill tf out.

Well it would be ill-advised for her to just tell the audience to, as you put it, chill the F out, since it's the audience who will ultimately make or break this thing.

Great insight and I agree with this!

Even with the less exciting episodes there is still advancement unlike with the other soaps where there are days worth of episodes with no story advancement and just repeated conversations.

This part! GH went on for months and months with no movement. And don't get me started on Bold and the Beautiful.

I think a valid critique I have is that it feels like a lot of things may "advance" but they sometimes go nowhere - what was the point of that sexual harassment case, or Anita's Articulettes reunion? It kind of felt like those things wrapped up as soon as they started. Was the latter simply to usher TT off the show for a planned break? That doesn't mean longterm story, IMO.

Also, sometimes things are dropped for weeks before it gets revisited - that kills story momentum. I don't need the same conversations every day, but when you go multi episodes without revising something, it does make it harder to want to invest.

MVJ's little tweet is funny to me honestly, because it personally tells me a lot.

I don't know if I'm articulating this right but I feel like there were too many established couples. I wish there was more room to watch people falling in love. This could've also helped us avoid things like the issues with Ashley/Derek. It would've been more interesting if we saw their relationship begin with the series instead of passing them off as this long term couple.

I've seen many people say the sexual harassment case was dropped but I always took that as a tool to develop Bill and Naomi's relationship. Did we really expect them to go through a full trial (which is rare in that type of case) for a bunch of dayplayers?

With the Articulettes reunion, I wouldn't say that story is over, but it was clearly planned to coincide with Tamara's break. Now if she comes back and it's forgotten then I'll agree it was a waste but it's too soon to say that the story is over. It really just started.

Ignore them; they like to believe MVJ is a bootlicker. That's all we need to know of them.

Well...

Spoiler

[c]onsidering someone visited the set recently, and Tamara Tunie (Anita) had a hat on that said "Articulettes", I'd wager the story is not dropped.

This would make sense, but how does one explain The Bold and the Beautiful. People are clearly invested there.

I think people are conditioned to B&B, BTG being a new soap doesn't have the same sentimental factor. If anything, it has more to provide being a brand new entity.

Agreed. That was a missed opportunity. And also would have been a much better use of Naomi than this stuff with June.

Wouldn’t it have been so soapy if Bill had had his stroke just minutes after the judge ruled in favor of Naomi and her clients?

YESSSSSSS!!! This. It feels like most characters were already hooked up when the show began. We didn't see any of them falling in love to begin with.

Ashely and Derek continue to a be a snoozefest for me, but it would have been more interesting to see them meet in episode 1 and watch their relationship develop. I have no idea how these two met, what they saw in each other, etc etc.

A story beat I wish were explored much more was the face that Naomi and Hayley were besties in the past before Hayley hooked up with Bill. How did that REALLY impact Naomi? How was Bill and Hayley's relationship first exposed? Etc etc. It might have been more interesting to have that relationship exposed in the first week versus the two of them already getting married. Still, Naomi and Hayley have had very little interaction to define their relationship.

The structure of it all makes no sense. June is gone but she'll be back in about a month or two to resume her homelessness. Same for Elon and Marcel. They and their storyline are back after a month and a half or more. That length of time just makes you forget all about it.
