OHHHHH how I will miss Nicole and OriginalTed. But awww Eva...SAME. re: guys and relationships.

A MOOSE???????

Uh oh. Mona is giving the whole staff the day off? Hmmm more like foreshadowing that SilkPress will break into the house.

Speaking of her...not her having scenes with Vernon and Martin!! A mess!!!

God, Fireman Himbo and them pants.

I am so glad to see Chelesa have a personal storyline going on. And it's something different.

Lord...Silk Press Sheila. The jealousy is REAL.

Oh, so I take it Nicole DOES NOT know Martin's secret then.

I'm glad they are writing for 2025.

I did see some whiners elsewhere complaining about it. Some people only see the world missionary style.

It's called compromise and both men and women have to compromise when merging two styles together into one apartment.  Ashley needs to remove the stick out of her ass since she seems like an anal individual.. and her mother Jan seemed to think the same thing LOL

But of course, it's always the man's fault.. right?

I wish that she had more scenes outside the Have Not gossip sessions because I have a feeling Ashley is so tightly wound up because of something that happened involving Jan and whoever is her father (Joey maybe?).

With that said, today was a great episode and a nice calm before the storm.

We had no Dani, we have the Have Not gossip session, we had Derek/Ashley interacting with other people, we had Silk Press Sheila mixing it up with some of the Duprees, and we had a flashback to right when her late husband passed away.

Lastly.. the final shot on Silk Press Sheila's face was a great way to end the episode.

Yeah, I know that I have my issues and opinions...from my personal experiences as a former Samantha Jones hehe...but I do like her conversations today really reflected reality. Both with her wanting to talk to someone that won't judge (yes, I mean Martin) and how it touched on the fact that not all same sex couples are running about, but also that there are married couples that explore together or have rules for their exploration. Cuz there are more out there than are talked about.

I could say something to that. But I'll just call them jealous unsatisfied in their own lives and hush.

It helps that she's played by a wonderful actress.  An actress that according to her instagram has had such a rough time in her personal life when she got this part.

Is it bad I wish she could have played Dani instead so we could be ensured she stay on a long time and not run the risk of being written in a corner?

Two of my close guy friends are in open marriages and they have those honest talks with one another.. and whomever they choose to bring into their relationship.  I was glad that the conversation wasn't too Afterschool Special and seemed realistic.  If that makes sense.

Totally. Continues the majority of last week's episodes where her storyline was the coda. I expect so much of the same this week.

Hehe. Now why you hating on Dani? lol. Well from what I've seen on her online, Trisha seems very friendly and feels gratitude for sure for such a blessing of being on a show that plays to her talents...like her voiceover skills. And beautiful to boot.

That's why I liked it as well. Very realistic. As someone who continues to be the talk-to for his friend groups who have come out (at least to me) as being in open marriages, I understand. It is even something I touched on in my latest novel. There are so many different kinds of relationships out there and no reason to not see all that is out there realistically reflected. It might even educate that there are other forms of relationships out there, and there's nothing wrong with that.

I don't do open-relationships. But I don't judge people who do. We have plenty of gay friends who do. I do judge people when they assume most gay couples are open... They AREN'T. We've had people approach us to "join in" more times than I can count and they always act surprised when we say - No, we are not interested. We are together as a couple and that's it. Most of them back off, but if they don't... then that's a very serious issue that I equal to sexual harassment. Nobody has a right to come and offer themselves initiating a thing like that and THEN continue after I say NO. I even remember an instance where a guy posed as... just a friend to us and then one night tried to violate that boundary. YOU DON'T lie to me and act like we are just friends and make me invite you into my home... to then try this. I'm not that type of bish that can be f-cked around like that. If we had given you a signal (something I won't do), ok... but we've told you before we are a very much not-open... and you do this sh-t AFTER being told that. No amount of alcohol excuses behavior like that.

No means NO. And yes, there are gay couples out there that don't like threesomes and etc. We are one of them. But hey... if other people are doing it and that suits them - Good for them. But don't equal a gay relationship to being open or just... ready for anything. That's the type of people I have an issue with.

Thank you! That's why I loved that Martin clarified to Chelesa today. I can't even be around some guy sometimes without some random person walking up thinking we are together and then try to proposition us as if we are a couple. Uhhhh NO.

    • Thanks for starting this thread!  I was hoping others were listening and would want to chat about it. I'm really enjoying Montecito!  The production and audio values are top notch. The storylines are interesting and keep me wanting more.  There is corporation succession, cheating, alcoholism, bisexual relationships, divorced parents, brother/sister drama, scorned mother, father/son relationship issues, etc. At first I couldn't stand Mena's (sp?) voice, but I've grown to enjoy her and I love to hate her as a villain. I keep hearing Smitty (BTG) in Mike Manning's voice, so it keeps throwing me haha. The only thing going against it is one episode per week, at only 18 minutes long, so we need more content. Anyone else listening and enjoying it?
    • This, plus they nixed their overnight set crew during the COVID era and never brought them back.

    • I did some research because I had a similar question. (also, I don't want to poop on your joke which was amusing, but it sent me down a rabbit hole) A Reddit user who works at TeleVision City (where Y&R is filmed) estimated it takes 45 minutes to set up or reconstruct an already built set.  However, according to union rules, it takes at least seven crew members (not counting lighting and sound installation).  As always, the real cost is the labor, not the task.   Y&R uses robotic cameras, so there is only a skeleton crew on set.  Most of their crew budget goes to production assistants, who cannot move sets.  So, they would need to hire a crew every time they wanted to put up or take down a set (for two days) as well as a lighting and sound design installation.  Which is obviously very different from how production worked when money was more freely spent (and good for the unions for keeping the workplace safe). So, filming a single day in Lauren and Michael's living room could cost as much as they spend on two actors salaries for an entire year.
    • I knew Giovanni Mazza was talented but damn that kid is a star in the making.
    • The Nurses' Ball has always been cringey, fast forward material for me, but especially during the Frank era. The musical numbers and audience reactions are unwatchable.  So many of the conflicts on this show feel phony and manufactured. Probably no better instance is the Gio - Dante crap. Gio's whole story is inorganic, plot driven, no stakes, fake conflict; giving people lame drama just to give them drama, a prime example of GH under Frank.
    • What is the reason why soaps can’t use whatever sets they want? How exactly does it cost money..? I’m sure they still have Michael and Lauren’s house, why can’t they just put it up and shoot it when needed lol
    • I'm binging last week and I still find it so odd how different the show feels. Before I felt like each episode felt so long but the show is gliding by now. I'm on Thursday and it's crazy how real the characters feel. It doesn't feel like Days of Our Lives because I'm so used to everything being slapstick. It's definitely nice seeing layers to the characters now. I'm beginning to feel really confident about the coming months when the new headwriters can introduce their own stories.
    • And, Dani's focus, whoa, when she deigns to really pay attention, her focus is laser sharp. And, Chelsea is a natural attention seeking target for Dani. She is so much more mother than I realized before.
