As do I. If anything tooo well. It does not seem like she is going to be that businesswoman yet, but I do hope that her struggle will be worthwise to watch. I even hope that it's Nicole's struggle that might get Dani to step up out of it.

I agree. But all how most on this show are not just white and black, but shades of gray.

Same. Maybe Anita, but...?

HELL-HO!!!

Oh, looky! Nosy Nurse interacting with Vanessa!

Ooooo backstory with Ty and Samantha. Dare I ask...are they foreshadowing later on down the line for their bio parents?

So Naomi is still being drawn into the lawsuit. Uh oh...

HELL-HO, NEW DOCTOR!!!

The three plaintiffs are the last people to be given any power or input.  They come off as incompetent, and delusional about their abilities.   However, since this is a feminist soap.. I'm sure they'll be girl bosses by summer time.

No Dani today

I have to admit that I kind of missed Ashley and Derek, though I'm confused about the acting choices by the actor playing Derek.  I'm not sure if he's still adjusting to soap opera acting, or if he's not able to bring anything to the role.

Smitty knows better then Martin yet again.

Tyrell's going to be played yet again.. all because of a pretty girl.  Men need to stay strong and learn not to trust a pretty face.

Vanessa and Shanice would be a nice pair to see interact outside the hospital, and I liked that Shanice was toned down (she seems more campy on Ron C scripted days).

Can I say that it was nice to get a break from Dani? LOL

Slower episode today, but one highlight:

"He (Tyrell) must have some Cancer in his charts somewhere, because he be too emotional" - Samantha

The actor playing Derek just isn't getting better. I wanted to give him some time, but it's been 2 months now. Others are improving and he's not.

-- So Dr. Doug's schedule is THISFULL, yet he's the one called on to handle the firefighter. There's no ER, of course. Everyone is just gurneyed in right by the main nurses' desk.

-- I know Smitty is the parental voice of reason, but I wish he'd get a little emotional and spicy in his discussions with Martin once in a while.

-- I still think Martin's dialogue needs to be more informal and conversational. It still sounds like he just walked out of a finishing school. Brandon Claybon is improving, but the script writers are making it harder for him.

-- That Tide bottle on the table was hilarious. Don't we all carry our jug of detergent with us when we carry a basket of clothes to be folded?

-- The Jessica actress was really good, especially for day one. She should have been cast for Samantha.

-- The young actor playing Tyrell is strong. I think he has a future beyond those gates.

-- When Doug told Vanessa he was sure she had her share of suitable dinner partners, I thought he was implying she was seeing other men. But then why did Vanessa respond with "I don't know what that's supposed to mean"?

-- Oh, Derek. Still stiff as ever. And Basic Ashley is no better.

    • -- Tamara Tunie was good today, but can we hold back on handing out Emmys? I'm not seeing that yet. -- So Anita has Barbara's entire letter committed to memory, yet it took her DECADES to reach out to Tracy and Sharon? Uh....ok. I don't get the impression that THE DUPREES spent a lot of time thinking about the little people. -- We again heard "Articulettes Strong," this time in the letter. Make it stop already. -- I'll wait and see on this "Anita's Sin" story. My bottom line is that it's unfair to point blame when someone takes his/her own life. -- I thought Tomas looked fine af in that suit today, and that the fit was perfect. -- Why is Basic Ashley kissing her boyfriend while at work in the hospital? I find that inappropriate and ridiculous. Ashley still doesn't act like someone in love. -- The 3-way conversation among Ashley, Derek, and Andre was awkward as hell. -- Hayley was embarrassing for taking her pregnancy test to Dani's. Dani is embarrassing to harp on it. These two need to stay away from each other. -- Dani treats Andre like crap. What he sees in her beyond the physical, I have no idea. No way is either of these two in love. -- Also clueless? Bill and Hayley for thinking Naomi would love hearing about the pregnancy.
    • Susan Lucci was on bereavement vacation because her on screen mom had recently passed away so she was off canvas when this tornado occurred.
    • Thanks @YRfan23 Wow I didn’t realize the cast has gotten that tiny either which is absolutely pitiful.    Surprised that Budig is still on as Taylor barely watched any lol tbh but nonr of the recent daily recaps ever mention her anymore I figured she was out the door soon.
    • I love the yellow bumpers with the crew lol. That's Donna Lewis as the music at the beginning! I haven't heard her in ages. R.J. and Tea were so hot and so underrated. I remember seeing the bit with the Buchanan men promising to show Max a good time in his bedroom and it's still hysterical.
    • I think a lot would've gotten over it the same way they got over the Trina recast, especially since it became swiftly clear NAC is never coming back. The key issue, we agree, is Frank. As long as Trina is onscreen he's not touching that. As for Nikolas, honestly I'd kill him off. Adam Huss has done a wonderful job in a very difficult situation but I don't think he has leading man power for a soap opera (not because he's gay, but he's very intense and I don't think it translates to potential lighter or romantic material; his flirting with Ava briefly was strange) and I was holding out for Tyler to recover and return someday. I am not interested in Nikolas #5 or 6.
    • AlwaysAMC - Your posts are a crack up; they make me laugh.  Thanks.  I especially like how detailed you get enthused about something, and how you curtly and flippantly you reject that which you find subpar.  LOL.   What's great about Annie is her increasing rooting value as time goes on.   I often wanted Annie to be victorious.  Watros infuses her with an energy and a vulnerability that really works, even at times when neither should. Soap viewers often remember and talk about the Big Moments, which is fine, but what I also find really interesting is the 1-2 week time frame that follows the Big Moment.  Later, there are scenes between Annie and Rick involving a trip to the hospital (no way am I telling you why and what happens - hopefully no one does) that I think are as well done as the Big Moment.  Astonishing stuff. Oh..and to reiterate...I ain't telling you sh*t.  You'll just have to suffer!  Ain't anticipation grand?  LOL.
    • @alwaysAMC Glad you made it to the soft rock theme. I share your disgust for the Gilly story, as many viewers did. Gilly was never a big character, but she was a part of why the early '90s feel real and different for GL, and she deserved a much better exit. This was also the last worthwhile role Amelia Marshall had on daytime (I don't even know if Passions fans would disagree). This was also Petronia Paley's only major chance at story and as someone who always appreciated her work, I'm sorry it did not go better for her. And I liked Charles Ewing a great deal on Loving, so I was even more unhappy with how they treated Griffin. It's a deeply offensive role, in many ways.  As for slapping, you may enjoy this, if you are able to find anything onscreen underneath all the ham. It really goes into hysteria in the second clip. As a bonus, you also get a quick glimpse of why the Billy and Mindy recasts were not accepted by viewers. One positive I will say about this clip is that it's one of the few times I remember the show making clear that Roger was able to defend himself if he had to do so.

    • ER Season 15 (first-ish time) BUFFY Season 3 (First time)
    • Probably less than a NBC or ABC soap. There were occasionally slaps. Women slapped men. And parents occasionally slapped their children. There was a period when Mindy and Roxie would fight. But slaps between women were few and far between. The only one between women I can really recall is Vanessa slapping Nadine. There was once where Bea Reardon almost slapped Vanessa, but she didn't. There are probably more, but in general, I always thought CBS soaps (aside from B&B, which used to love Stephanie slapping Brooke) shied away slapping, sort of the way they limited "hell"s and "damn"s to so many per week.

My favorite moments are with Erika and then Robin and Tim Stickney around 7/8 minutes. There are also little yellow bumper moments with the crew, which I enjoy more than the real ones.  There's also a music video at the end to I Will Survive, with Linda Dano and JFP having a cameo (they certainly do know how to survive). Also a fun bit with a frazzled crew member showing cards with the names of every EP she presumably worked for at the show (or maybe just every EP, period).
