The one thing I've noticed so far on this soap is that a random line/comment seems to be foreshadowing of sorts for future story.

In Week 1: Hayley wondering if people at the law firm liked her, or held it against her that she was marrying the boss while a offhand comment from Mike about Hayley got Bill upset.  Turned out to be foreshadowing the lawsuit story and confirmed Hayley's instincts were correct.

So today's comments from Ted about his lawyer will probably tie Bill and/or Mike into the story with Silk Press Sheila.

Also, Smitty's comments about the influencer story he was going to be doing and mentioning he hoped to talk to Chelsea after the fashion show makes me think her two random scenes of Chelsea's double life with the guy and his partner will probably tie into whatever this new story Smitty is chasing is.

I knew when Shanice last week mentioned Laura and how Eva is just ok compared to Laura.. I knew Laura would be making her way back into the story.

Now that you mentioned it re: Mike. It was there the whooole time!

I was thinking it was Bill for sure. But for the first time...I just thought...what if the lawyer was actually TOMAS. It would be another layer to the SilkPress storyline AND the evolving Kat/Eva feud, too. Which now that I typed that...SilkPress did have that scene with Eva about how she didn't like her cozing up to a lawyer. That could be another foreshadowing. I think Mike would be a good choice as well.

Oooo that would be a messy storyline, too. Because what would be more important to Smitty...getting back to the thrill of an expose or protecting the Duprees? Cuz you know Martin would pick on him with an 'I told you so' if he picked the expose over the family.

I find it funny that people were wondering about Laura when Nosy Nurse made that comment. And they wondered about Laura again and she showed up again today.

I would hope that it is inadvertent and just a quirk of the casting rather than an intentional move. And save for the threats Ted isn't much more terrible than Bill so unless Ted actually acts on those threats he is mostly on the same level.

But I will say that casting overall leaned rather fair skinned for the Black characters. That goes with the overall trend for casting Black characters across entertainment though.

Same.

He didn't start off perfect, but the potential was there. He simply needed the time. Something I constantly said, and we know I've been posting since Episode 1. I said when he was good. I said when he was bad. And I know I said my worries about the main plot IS him and how I hope he does improve for that very reason. So many threads hang on him.

Oh?

It's amazing how much better this show is (for me at least) when Dana, Eva, Nicole, and Ted are featured prominently, and when Ashley, Derek, Andre, and Dani aren't.

Again, I don't even notice when Ashley and Derek aren't on unless someone calls it out - that's how much I don't care about those characters and have yet to be given a reason to from both the writing and the acting.

It goes without saying, but Trisha Mann-Grant is a f.ucking STAR. The way she can switch from being casual with her friends in the diner, to being conniving against Ted, to bursting out in tears to hide her ulterior motives is amazing to watch. This is an actress who cares and invests beyond the bare minimum. If the Daytime Emmy's even mean anything anymore, she should be a top contender for Supporting Actress next season.

ITA. It could have been that he has two dads, that one of his dads is congressman, or that he's seen as a spoiled rich kid. I am starting to like their family dynamic more though.

ALL OF THIS.

Trisha Mann-Grant is a real delight, and I enjoy every episode she's in. I just hope they don't write her into a corner but find a way to keep her long-term.

Today's episode worked better because we saw some plot movement, family interactions, variety of characters, confrontations and intrigue etc

Martin's acting is improving-thankfully.

What is with Nicole and Febreeze?? It's not like they even show a closeup of the can, so I don't know what they're thinking in terms of product placement.

When they showed Nicole with Febreeze last week, it was more obvious.
Yesterday Monday it was much less obvious, but on the live broadcast yesterday right after she sprayed, it cut to a Febreeze commercial.

    • And here I thought I'd never think about Lauren Tewes again after her brief appearance in Twin Peaks Season 3.
    • I may be the single person who does not mind Transatlantic Campy Pamela. I think it perfectly suits this sort of Absolutely Fabulous-esque supporting character she's playing much more than it did when Cady tried weird and often broad stuff at AMC* or Y&R, or later stints at ATWT. She's not Dixie and she's not trying to be. (* - and I say that as one of the few who was somewhat into Cady trying to make Dixie more cosmopolitan in the Rosanna Cabot mold in mid-2000s AMC, just to liven the character up again)
    • There’s absolutely nothing exciting happening storyline wise but I’m always happy to see the vets on my screen so I’ll take what I can get. It’s also just nice to see them all dressed up in the same room, it always gives classic Y&R vibes. The best part? No Phyllis.

    • Well now we had Ashley's reaction-and weren't we all gasping when she appeared to hate it-but she was just joking!! She loved it. Now we have to see Abby's reaction, and maybe Mamie could come back to say she loves it. How about Jill via Zoom giving her opinion (she'll love it) and bring in a day player to play Mrs Martinez to say she loves it also... I feel bad to keep dumping on this show (not really) but when the choices they make are so inane, it's the only entertainment value the show has. Let's unpack the Nikki birthday story. So Claire wants to throw her Nana a birthday bash as away of endearing Kyle to Victor. Don't quite get the logic there, but OK. She hires a party planner who makes ridiculous suggestions. Slightly annoyed that Y&R are hiring someone for this role for 5 episodes when we never see doctors, co- workers etc. But OK to that to. With all the talk we are expecting something special. What we get is the Jazz Lounge hideously decorated with some ugly tablecloths and a few tacky decorations. They needed a planner for this? Then the guest list consists of family members (no grandchildren)and a few others. Hardly a party. As usual the costuming is pretty awful. A red and black theme ? And our guest of honor is sporting a do that looks like a cross between Cameron Diaz in Something about Mary and Marie from Roxette. They should have had an intimate dinner and ditched all the fanfare. Would have been way more believable.

    • Her accent sounds horrible and doesn't fit in line with the character or the dialogue. I was just messing around on YouTube and perusing early Tad and Dixie videos. Notably, Dixie, a resident of Pigeon Hollow, West Virginia, has no discernible accent. i have no idea why she would add a defunct accent to this character now. I want to do an honest survey here. I watch BTG every day and I love it. It's not perfect, but I find it 99% entertaining. For those that find fault with it - what is actually bothering you? I'm not going to argue at all, or disagree with you. I just want to know what others are seeing that I'm not.
    • It's a choice and today, she made it more British than ever before. It's almost like she's making Pamela act like how she thinks she should be acting.
    • I cannot believe there is a whole storyline about the Abbott house renovation. They really are grasping over at Y&R. I don’t see a big difference in the set. It is refreshed. Why make a storyline out of it?
    • Cady is using what sounds like a transatlantic accent which is so odd these days. Sharon's hostility is entertaining already. That look she gave Anita when she opened the door was pure attitude.
