What he was doing was to try to keep a decent reputation. After all he does want to work again. Any & every campaign there MUST be a petition & the only petitions worth anything at all ARE change dot org ones. So, even as you know they NOT effective, it's more or less a rule that you have one. Sounds silly, right? That's because it is. When I ran our very successful one for Beverlee I even got this amazing email from the President of NATAS (Emmys). Not that we got what we wanted. That was never going to happen. They do not give Posrhumous Emmys. It's their policy.

Do you think that this petition will help him work again?

Oh, no, I wasn't clear.  His being reticent, calm, only retweeting  BEFORE this petition stuff, that would help him get hired again. NOT THIS.

He had better surprise and deliver. Like seriously. Because the hatred is high. They'll probably end up having to search for a Ted #3 if he isn't well-received.

The truth is that Maurice Johnson is going to end up with a lot fewer fans than he had before he started using social media this way.

With how deranged people are on social media, especially in today's "culture", I doubt it.

I had to laugh when I came across this while scanning old soap mags. Maurice is merely participating in an age-old tradition.

Doug Davidson and Kin Shriner are known for this too. But I must say I've never heard of an actor soliciting fans via DM. That to me is a step beyond making statements in the press or social media encouraging the fans to reach out. I liked this Ted, but that's kind of tacky. Plus this isn't about an actor being dropped to recurring. He's been replaced, so he's essentially asking the fans to try to get the other actor fired.

Mm-hmm. That's what I was referring to when I said I've never heard of this before. Not that I haven't heard of petitions and campaigns.

I've said it before, and I'll say it again: social media will be the death of us all.

And I'll say it again. It is what it is. Maurice is just taking advantage of it being what it is. I don't blame him one single bit. Obviously, the showrunners didn't owe him anything and he doesn't owe them or his replacement anything in return. It cuts both ways.

He's a good actor and much better than Maurice. The material they are setting up should be meaty so Im sure he will deliver better than what we currently have. Hating on him is stupid when he hasnt done anything wrong and based on his part, doesnt suggest that he will flop as an actor

Honestly, sports fans, if you're struggling this much with Maurice Johnson getting sacked, I can only imagine how you'll respond when you find out that Clifton Davis has been replaced with Ben Vereen.

I don't even think that the fans of OG Teddy Bear care about Keith's acting experience. It's various other things as to why they prefer the OG.

Spike Lee should do a commercial: "IT'S GOTTA BE DA TURTLENECKS!!"

Meanwhile, I'm still writing angry letters to DAYS, demanding for them to rehire Charity Rahmer. One day, they'll listen. Maybe I need to get on Change Dot Org...
