ITA. They could at least throw in a line saying that they adopted them when they were 11 and 12 years old, for example. Then, it would be much more believable. At least Smitty got to give Martin a quick kiss on the cheek. The lack of affection and tenderness between them has been striking compared to the other couples.

If Martin's going to be running for president, he needs to work on being less wooden! LOL

I LOVE Leslie. She is soooo messy, and I'm here for it.

Jacob is SOOOO hot, and the actor has a nice ease to him that is missing in Martin.

Ashley's growing on me, but they really need to have her in scenes with Naomi a lot more to tie her into things. Her boyfriend (Brian?) just falls flat. He still comes across as just generic handsome guy who we are just supposed to think is hot. How much is the actor, the writing, etc, I don't know, but if I had to pick the first character to fade into the background it would be him. He needs an edge...or something...to make him interesting.

Good point about the age! Now, if he said he wanted to run in 4 years, that would be much more believable.

I am used to US soaps having ruined timelines because of SORAS but BTG is only a week and a half years old -  the ages cannot be this fcked already.

If Martin is going run for president in 2028 he needs to be at least 32 now to be eligible. DD has said Nicole is 53. That means Nicole had Martin at 21 at the earliest. But Nicole and Ted met at a professional conference. Do premed students typically attend those? If Nicole met Ted as a resident psychiatrist she needs to be at least 58.

They had the scene with Vanessa and the gym trainer talking about the property, in front of Vanessa's husband Doug.  So Doug knows what property she's about to show and where it is.

Doug asked his friend, the mob-affiliated Randy, for money for his gambling debt, and Randy told Doug to go ask Vanessa for the money.

Do Doug and Vanessa have an open relationship?  Does he know she likes to play around, and is he fine with that?

Will Doug go to the real estate property location to find Vanessa to ask her for the money?  Will he be surprised or unsurprised at what he finds?

Not everyone obsessing over age when age doesn't exist in the soap world.

Everyone is so quick to tear it apart over stuff like this.

Work caught up to me so I’m starting to watch now.

Today is the first day I’ve seen some chemistry between Smitty and Martin. I actually believed they liked each other so far.

Kat came in so hot at Eva my god.

Eva was so taken aback by meeting her potential father wow.

Yes, that would be more believable, and maybe Martin pressured Smitty into agreeing to adopt in order to burnish his image as a congressman

Age is one thing, but when Martin and Smitty look like they’re barely over 30 years old and are talking about what to do when they’re grown-up children move out of the house in 1-2 years, it does indeed look silly! I’m notoriously anti-SORAS and always have been, but this isn’t even SORAS. It’s questionable casting right out of the gate. Daphnee Duplaix could theoretically be playing a great-grandmother on this show inside a year.

It's not tearing it apart - it's simply speculation about what we are seeing on screen.

I really enjoyed today's episode.  Now that a couple of exciting events have occurred, the characters have settled down for some day-to-day scenes, which I found refreshing.  Now we are seeing what a "normal" episode of BTG will be like, and it was great!  Very interesting to have a low drama day.  Great episode!!

The show is so sane feeling without Dani. I almost miss my daily dose of borderline personality disorder.

    • Thanks for that. It was great to see her in an interview. She's very likable. Although it was somewhat confusing. What new soap is she talking about going on audition for in 1973. Was it The Young and the Restless? The editing around that part was weird and choppy. I felt like there was a chunk missing or something. And I'm not sure why she was saying she got colorectal cancer from HPV and said it's because she never got the HPV vaccine but then said she's never had anal sex. I'm not a doctor but that didn't seem to make any medical sense. I don't know. Maybe I'm tired. It just seemed like some of this interview didn't make sense.
    • If it helps any, the last script cover from the Elman papers that I have is from episode #3,736 airdate November 15, 1977. Writers are the Hollands with Frank Salisbury.
    • B&B really does look incredible. The lighting and the polished sets have made a significant difference how visually appealing the show is now.
    • I found the problem with the Labine era was that the show lost some humour when the Labines came on and it could be dull. They also didn't seem to understand some of the characters. As others have said, it looks fantastic in comparison to the next regime but I just remember boredom being the primary response.
    • Something I didn't realize: Frank Ashmore, who played Monica's investigator Corrigan in 1981, was also Victor, the third guy in the cockpit, in Airplane!
    • Thanks, maybe I will skim through those episodes.  I have previously binged late 1985 through early 1987; April-June, August 1992 (I skipped Carlo Hesser murder trial), Jan-March 1995 and I began watching in 2006. I just struggle to stay consistent with routines especially binging routines haha
    • I could've sworn we went over the Bobbie thing a while ago, and saw her introduced to Rick and Lesley as "Nurse Barbara" in very late '77? Or was that early '78? I know the clip is online. Jackie always credited Marland with creating her IIRC.
    • Thanks.  Loon Lake - very on the nose. With that "dad" outfit Bo looks even more like Cassie's father...
    • Luna parachutes herself into Llanview at the end of September 15th 1991.
    • That lengthy flashback does make me wonder if she threw out a lot, but I agree it may have been too easy an urban legend. Would these have been her very first episodes? I imagine you could feel the big difference when Bobbie arrived, alongside the Quartermaines filing in, the return of Heather, and Lesley/Rick/Monica/Alan heating up. It does remind me that there must have been some dud moments in the 60-minute format we just don't see because little of the period is available in full.  I wonder how much longer the Dantes lasted under Marland.  David Hamilton is so disgusting. I appreciate the show making him disgust as some shows when they have stories about older men or women manipulating teens aren't as honest.  I can't see this Rick being friends with him. Chris Robinson's Rick, on the other hand, I could believe.
