Vernon. Clifton Davis played Reuben Gregory on Amen.

Very clever. I knew of his role on that show but not the character name.

NBD is no big deal, so we clearly don't agree. Haha. Yes i will agree attempted murder is a reach but at the presser Bill listed several other crimes... assault and illegal discharge of a weapon, that type of thing. She can plead it down to a lesser charge, but you can’t just go around shooting at weddings! Plus she assaulted them like three other times last week. Seeing consequences is refreshing!

In general I am in favor of consequences.

I agree. I don't give a f-ck if she killed anyone or not... She assaulted these people and made a fool of herself. She should at least be psychologically evaluated. It's so reckless how people are excusing and enabling her. When she hits rock bottom... And we know she will, if this is not rock bottom already... they will be partly to blame for her demise. That type of behaviour... Manic and aggressive, threatening people with guns.... and then having sex and dancing the next day in this happy mood... These non-stop mood shifts to the extremes... are a symptom of some hardcore mental health issues.

Luckily, I’m optimistic that it’ll all be treated as such, and not like some big stupid joke

Guess Anita and Vernon have low guarantees, but I want Tunie in her own story, pronto.

as i recall, guarantees are averaged over 13 weeks. so there may be weeks when an actor appears in fewer episodes than their guarantee, so when they can do more weekly episodes when the story demands.

I never knew this. Thanks so much. So when an actor's cycle is 26 weeks, is that used to average the use of guarantees?

i’d expect so.

Viewing week two, the acting is still kind of ....not connecting me to the characters.

I'm confused. I thought Vanessa was Dani's BFF. Then she said she's Nicole's. And all Cady McClain got was like five lines? *really*?

It was nice to see Jon Lindstrom.

True, and I hope it's the case that they are saving them for something big. It has occurred to me, though, that given their star power, they may have negotiated for a bigger fee per episode for less episodes. This would track with Clifton Davis being almost 80 and Tamara Tunie requesting that they work around her other projects, not to mention the commuting to Atlanta. We'll see. So far they are reactionary characters and I want to see Tunie leading a juicy story soon.

Pamela, who Cady plays, is Dani's BFF! So, I expect in future she'll get more lines.

One of the two people I recruited as BTG fans just gave me her personal review of as far as she's seen. Her favorites are Dani & Nicole. She plans to FF Ashley & Derek. She rolled her eyes at the boring white people. (She is non-black.) Overall, she LOVED it & is planning to watch more this weekend.

Several posters have posted similar thoughts last week and this week.

Someone *speculated* that they wrote Cady in later maybe?
Just a speculation, but interesting.

----------------

Fri. Feb. 28 dialogue when Cady's character Pamela arrived at the wedding:
Dani: I didn’t think you would make it.
Pamela: I cut my trip short. You’re my best friend. There’s no way I’d let you face this night without being here in full support.

----------------

Monday March 3 (Scene lasts a little over one minute)

(At the bar after the wedding, Dani has just ordered a drink, and Pamela arrives.)

Dani: Pamela, if you're here to criticize my behavior or tell me how ridiculous I looked...

Pamela:  I said that I would be here for you today, and *I* dropped the ball.   I should have been a better friend. I should have stopped you before things got out of control. But I am here now.   So put me in, Coach.  Need me to run interference, slash a tire, burn a bridge? I'm your ride-or-die.
(Dani's phone is vibrating while Pamela is speaking.)

Dani: Okay.

Pamela:  And if you need me to, uh, pretend that the bar isn't vibrating from all the texts you're getting, I can do that, too.
(Dani reads her text.)

Pamela: What can do, Dani?
(Dani asks Pamela to pay for the drink that Dani had ordered but not yet received, because Dani has to leave now to face the Duprees.)

(Dani and Pamela hug.)
Pamela: Well, good luck.
Dani: Love you.
Pamela: Love you back.

----------------

There was one episode this week in which Dani didn't appear, and another character explained that Dani was having spa time with Pamela.

----------------

Yeah it's confusing.   Most of what we viewers actually witnessed was Vanessa being Dani's friend. But these snippets of dialogue are the script trying to *tell* us that Pamela is Dani's best friend.
Maybe the line at the wedding that Pamela had been out of town, was a way they explained Pamela being missing from the prior episodes.

I'm curious to see how will they weave Pamela into the canvas.  Cady has commented on her social media but I won't post that here since it's spoilerish (it's on the March spoiler thread).

I'm not really getting the point of the hospital setting at all, as I would think most psychologists (or psychiatrists) and plastic surgeons would have their separate practices.

I will admit, it was nice seeing real dressed up events again. And opera length gloves! (silly, I know!)

I kinda hate the overuse of the phone graphic to show two people talking. Yes, I know it's a sign of the times. But still.

thanks...I thought I had missed something. it seems most of Vanessa's stuff has been with Dani, and I think Vanessa and Nicole had like one set of scenes together.

And, of course, Nicole has her own office, where she seems to spend most of her time.

Honestly, in my mind, as we watched, Vanessa = realtor. That was me about Vanessa.

There is an excellent character cheat sheet in the BTG wiki, also a family tree for the Fab Four Family!

@INFJWillAlmost all of my bios online read: INFJ Unapologetic soap opera fan".

physicians do have their own offices. hospital and restaurants provide public spaces where it makes sense for various characters to cross paths.
