Oh good lord. Anything to save JPS' job. IIRC that was explicitly not what happened onscreen - I believe in Mulcahey's script, Valentin explained his plan to Brennan at the time.

Wow you guys are really jumped down Eva LaRue's throat. We got this "quote" second-hand and have no idea what tone she said it in.

Is it that hard to envision an actor saying something akin to "do I really have to?" regarding lines they personally object to knowing full well that they have to say them regardless. It's a very normal thing for actors to do, we've all heard stories of actors apologizing to their scene partners for whatever their characters had to say or do to them.

ANYway Natalie sucks, her story with Sonny is a bunch of nothing. They haven't come close to kissing. Hell, they don't even flirt. They're just in scenes together every3-5 weeks. The show has had over a year to make them a couple and they haven't even come close. Even this drama with Sonny's heart hasn't brought them any closer and it was all for naught because Sonny just told Kristina the truth when she asked.

That they decided to build a family around a character they've put zero effort into is utterly baffling.

This happens so often on this show now, especially when it comes to the mob/WSB stuff, that you gotta wonder if they also don't understand the plot. The viewers definitely don't. Personally I couldn't tell you why Valentin is trying to kill Brennan. Don't care either!

I get it, but I also think it's dumb of her. You came on explicitly to play a homophobic controlling momager but you claim the material floored you? It is what it is.

I can never remember - is the room Chase, Lois, Brook Lynn and Gloria had all the conversations in recently meant to be a library or some area separate from the living room?

I like this room more for intimate conversations, and it fits the somber moments taking place in this story. I'll always associate the main Q room (which is also redone of course into that greyish bunker) with the more vibrant, mostly gone members of the family anyway.

Gloria's brief return just reminds me of how little spark Amanda Setton has compared to Rena Sofer and Ellen Travolta, but at least now there's more reason with the baby shame secret.

Bedroom chastity aside, I do think Setton and Josh Swickard work well enough together as they both have a certain earnestness above all else in their work. Swickard does bring glimpses of crazy from time to time, which might be interesting if or when he ever snaps at just how much he's gone through in the last year (father dead, brother and niece gone, sterile, his pal has a baby with his wife, etc.). I know for many years a soap would have had Brook Lynn fall for Dante or the two of them sleep together after the truth comes out (maybe a few months later, as Gio, who isn't coping well, overdoses and they are grief-stricken), leading Chase to go apeshit or die in some kind of primal screaming-laden car crash.

I would probably just throw him at Willow (maybe she would lure him to the dark side and use his police ties to that end) instead of killing him off, but I see the possibilities.

A part of me feels a little sad at my old Qs being replaced by so many Lois/Olivia-adjacent offspring and their stories, but that's how it goes, I guess. At least Tracy does fit in with these dynamics and the show is allowing her a few human moments. It's just all this airing at the same time as we are waiting to hear of Monica's death reminds me of just how complete the changeover is. "It's my house." And...it isn't anymore. It never will be again.

Still, I will take a new Q era over having no Qs beyond Jason and the tatters of his harem.

I adored CMesure as Jack Brennan so it's not really possible for me to get to that point "more" with Chris McKenna but it's also not necessary as to me McKenna is a much more than just competent recast. He's an excellent recast, IMO, anyway. I personally believe chem is totally subjective. That said, I find LW's Carly to have it in spades with about 85% of the potential population. It worked with Mesure but it also is working with McKenna.

On to babies, I loved the parallels between Sasha & Jason and Brook Lynn &  Chase. Amanda Setton continues to wow me & I liked getting more reaction from Chase. Not a surprise that telling him about Dante would get a predictable rise out of him.

Sasha is interesting watching her reconsider Michael's involvement. Also her POV about Willow is refreshing.

I don't see any chemistry between the two. They are one of my least favorite forced couple.

Why did Lucas look to see if he was naked? Wouldn't he know?

On a show where so many I don't want to see hang around and hang around, I don't mind having someone I find easy on the eye and a likeable enough support character, but there's definitely a strong case for him to go.

You know even if you took out the whole rape/drugging aspect of the Brook/Dante thing in 2010 it would not make more sense to me than a teenage pregnancy.  Then we'd have to deal with Dante consensually cheating on Lulu and it would make the characters like 50 not to mention that would have meant Carly and Brook Lynn's plan succeeded so there would be no reason to keep the baby a secret.  Plus, AL's BLQ was still onscreen for almost a year after that.  She was stuck in that awful tale with TC's Nik where she was paid to be his escort or companion if you all recall that.  So even if this teenage pregnancy story is dumb it's at least in the realm of possibility.

Also count me in for a Willow/Chase redux.  I always thought it was both characters best pairing.  That obviously isn't saying much but I did think KM and JS had nice chemistry.

So they were actually paired? I wasn't watching when it happened. I just thought it was some made up [!@#$%^&*] from the writers.

Yeah.  When Willow first came on the show and she was a teacher.  They were together through the whole Dawn of the Dead nonsense.  Eventually, they break up so Michael and Willow can get married to get custody of Wiley (it's a whole long Sasha/Michael/Chase/Willow story that is just zzzzzzzzz).   Chase and Willow eventually get back together, but she's in love with Michael and a cheating whore from the start so they lie to Chase because he is dying.  Then Chase/Willow get married because he is still dying, but she continues to see Michael behind his back.  Chase doesn't die obviously, finds out the truth, and then Michael/Willow get together.   That was honestly the most concise way I could explain it and it still sounds complicated.  Honestly, it was very boring on screen.

I've been nodding as you go after this actually happened backstory & talking to the computer in helpful ways but that's not why I'm posting.

For what seems like ages but is really probably only a month. Do you recall one GH day when Willow & Chase talked & she had what I call her Intro Level initial self-awareness of her current self & I was so excited & on the edge of my seat because I just knew Chase was about to praise her for having this insight into Drillow for the first time and, and, and,  Dammitohellandback instead Chase said, "You are a good person & everyone knows it." KLUNK. Grumble. Grouse. Swear words.

Yet despite Chase seemingly having no brain cells to rub together, from that moment on, I have been rooting for Chillow to be up next & I tend to think that we will get them. Not sure how they will blow up ChaLynn but, I guess we'll see.

    • Frankly, I think it's dead in the water.
    • Oh, I think Benz would have been all wrong for Kendall.  Terrific actress, but not at all what I'd picture Erica's long-lost daughter to be.
    • In a way, Denise's inability to decide on which college to attend (before deciding to attend her family's alma mater and the college everyone knew she'd be attending anyway) was a clear signal that the poor girl was a flake and not "college material."  Denise Huxtable was someone who peaked in high school, lol. With guest stars Deborah Adair (ex-Jill, Y&R; ex-Tracy, DYNASTY; ex-Lucy, MP; ex-Kate, DAYS), Christopher Allport (ex-Tim McGowan, AW) and John de Lancie (ex-Eugene, DAYS)! "Frame" is one of those MSW's that you THINK is gonna be paint-by-numbers (no pun intended), and then it surprises you with one of those twist endings that often made episodes so enjoyable. I seriously wish they had gone for a Steven/Bart/Sammy Jo triangle instead, with Steven and Sammy Jo fighting over Bart, lol. And I still think Claudia burning to death at La Mirage was DYNASTY's dumbest cliffhanger. The perfect time to kill off Chase, IMO.  Alas.

    • Spoke with my contacts at Lifetime. As of now, there is nothing to share in terms of updates.
    • Which is still a form of manipulation. Granted it won't work because Ted isn't interested in Leslie at all no matter how much she tries to make him look like a horrible person. When you consider the situation with Hayley it does make sense why Anita would take that approach.
    • Another good one and great episode to start off the week. Confrontations, character moments, movement, and an awful lot of bubbles on display. lol.    I've found myself liking Sara Bibel breakdowns. And this episode might be why. I sense movement of plot going on. And Jazmen being on script duty has already become a highlight for me. So this episode dealing with more fallout from the SilkPress/Eva reveal was another good one. And even got a solid B plot moving in the Vanessa/Doug/Joey storyline...which I just said yesterday...has been the only one of the B plots...that has real build to it so far.    You are not a real soap pariah until you get dragged and a community treats you as such. So basically another old school soap vibe that Eva is giving me. Watching her trying to find her footing only to be read by just about everyone she has encountered has been great. It makes her so rootable. And she's played by an excellent actress. Cuz that quivering lip at the end with her and Anita...ooooo some of you all seem heated for Anita making poor girl cry even though it's her fault. That's great acting. Not to mention writing.    I also love that the side character got their point of view. I loved Mona moving about town trying to get info to avenge Nicole in a way. And she dragged Eva. She read Silk Press Sheila. And that 'enjoy the burn' was well-said. And did I see a spark with Mona and Randy? Hmmm. I don't mind.

I also didn't mind that Martin/Kat scene. I enjoy their sibling relationship so far. And I feel like the right thing to do to keep them close as they support their mother. It even made sense that Martin would soften to the idea of Eva as part of the family given their brief scene at the start of this storyline. Meanwhile, NO from Kat. lol. And she's already questioning the DNA test...OF COURSE SHE IS. But again...that avail...her and Eva being the SAME age. Twins. I just felt the writers are really foreshadowing that heavy. Meanwhile, the SilkPress saga is far from over.   I love the parade of Ted Visitors. LMAO!!! I thought Dani vs Ted was pretty good. But I about fell out when Anita walked up in there like old school Sonny Corinthos. And I hollered with Anita wiping the floor with Ted with Dani in the background like Jason Morgan. Watch your step, Theodore. Anita was giving Boss Bitca and I was living.    That said...I didn't like Anita making poor Eva cry. But as was said above...the stuff with Hayley is still too fresh on the Duprees' mind. So sadly understandable, Anita set down the law.    Uh oh. Dani saw Vanessa with Joey. Granted they are not the BFFs, but I do hope that that means we are getting a Dani/Vanessa scene. And I loved that we got another step in the B storyline. Doug fighting (and failing) in his addiction. Meanwhile, Vanessa resisted hers. And Joey did not look happy.    And saying the best for last. I LOVE Nicole vs Silk Press Sheila. Ooooo Nicole got under her skin good. And I loved it. I also hollered at Silk Press couldn't even be fake nice for 5 whole minutes to her. DD did soooooooo good. The body language. The looks. The inflections on just the right words. I LOOOVVVE that confrontation and looking forward to more since she clearly verbally cracked SilkPress's face. Meanwhile, I was just as taken aback at Ted showing up at Silk Press Sheila's place. I also thought it was another fantasy. Nope. And then SilkPress put the moves on him and went just a little more cray cray in the coda.    Just such a great episode.
