Webmaster Errol Posted February 25 Author Webmaster Share Posted February 25 Remember, CBScontracted with NuTime Media to sell ads for BTG: https://www.soapoperanetwork.com/2024/07/cbs-nutime-media-ad-opportunities-the-gates This would explain the new ad companies for the show. In related news, I made another mistake. I said Nicole was driving a Mercedes S-Class. No baby, she was driving a Mercedes-Maybach S-Class with a base value of $203,000, nearly 100k more than the regular S-Class. BTG getting PAID!
Members Soapsuds
After rewatching it on the CBS app, I noticed that Nicole ran through a stop sign in the opening of the show. Please register in order to view this content
Webmaster Errol Posted February 25 Author Webmaster Share Posted February 25 Here are the title cards: Mandatory made in Georgia Please register in order to view this content P&G Studios NAACP Couldn't get the CBS Studios logo, which is the main studio behind the show and the only one with their theme playing, because the were immediately trying to force me to watch "Watson." And she wasn't wearing her seatbelt as the "no seatbelt" signal was displayed on her digital dashboard.
Members Paul Raven
I enjoyed it. Pretty much delivered what was on the tin. Would have liked at least one more location scene to provide some variety. That scene at the end with all of the Duprees rooted to the spot during the confrontation needed better staging, maybe some individual close ups? And then them all filing past with dagger looks... The white hospital set was a miss. Lighting could be softened a touch to give the sets more moodiness. Love the posters referring to 'the white couple'-in years past it would have been 'the black couple' And the male cast, down to the extras -yowsah! The costuming/styling was great. Y&R needs to up their game several notches.
Webmaster Errol Posted February 25 Author Webmaster Share Posted February 25 For CBS Studios, I was able to get this (it's blurry though): Please register in order to view this content
Members BetterForgotten
What’s interesting is that CBS and P&G have a joint credit at the start of the episode.
Members Vee
Incredibly exciting to have an all-new, very different soap to look forward to daily, however it turns out. Exploring other famous periods like ATWT '86, or rarities like GL/GH in the '60s, or the long-lost Linda Gottlieb/Michael Malone handover on OLTL in 1991 has been wonderful recently, but those are all bygone times. To have something totally new for soaps that you also feel the creatives actually have a sense in pride in is the rarest thing of all today.
Webmaster Errol Posted February 25 Author Webmaster Share Posted February 25 Right. It confirms that P&G is a producer for the show and not just an advertiser, showing they have as much influence in the direction of the series as CBS does. Surprised they didn't have a CBS Studios/NAACP Venture-type logo since this is the first series to come off of that joint agreement/venture. Here's a better version (in terms of size) of that title card btw: A treasure. I'm telling you. That explains the candle, but I'm still curious if that's the official reason or just a coincidence (likely the former).
Members BetterForgotten
It makes sense why there appeared to be a ton of P&G executive representation at the Paley Center last week (CBS too obviously). Both sides seem extremely invested in this project. The cost of filming in Georgia, and CBS and P&G likely splitting costs may be the reason for much of the opulence we’re seeing (especially in comparison to the other daytime soaps). Webmaster Errol Posted February 25 Author Webmaster Share Posted February 25 As I have now unpinned the legendary Beyond the Gates announcement to fruition thread, from here on out the BTG Discussion thread should be specifically about the episodes. Any/all news and information about the series should be posted in the BTG: History, Behind the Scenes Articles & Photos thread (the new name for the first-ever discussion thread about the show). Spoilers, Casting news and the like should be posted within the Discuss the Soaps: Previews and Spoilers forum and/or related BTG thread.
Members Broderick
It's a mighty pretty-looking show. Lights are maybe a little too bright, and some of the dialogue was kinda "clunky", but they sure do have some charismatic performers. They could've just coasted along with Tamara Tunie and Clifton Davis, but it appears most of the other roles are also cast pretty well. And they didn't overwhelm us with melodrama. It shows a lot of promise.

Members Taoboi
Truly the end of an era. I was not always in there, but it always flowed and it was an excellent lifeline to this very moment. Thank you for that. We made it!!! And now the beginning of a new era. @BetterForgotten I finally saw your comments from the Paley Center while I was out on an introspective walk. Well done for those. Worth the wait. Please register in order to view this content @marceline I definitely look forward to your comments once you get around to watching since I've always enjoyed your comments on soaps in the past. And on a different board. Her look during the family walkout (and TT did it) was EVERYTHING. I love you. And also happy you got to see it.
