I liked Morgan a little better than Britt.   BC and KT turned me off so long ago with their comments that I just don't care.  They basically both asked to be killed off and........now are available because they can't book work.   I am not advocating adding more characters to the canvas, but I would giggle if both Morgan and Britt were recast.

I'll give Kelly a bit of credit for make a meaningless character somewhat relevant.   I was never a fan of that Dr. Obrect/Faison/Nathan/family era though and to me she's sort of in the same category as Nelle, Sabrina, Sasha, Willow who are all related to some people on canvas just because.

Though tbf, on the show, I did like Morgan, but his off screen antics overshadowed any love I could have for the character very quickly.

Beyond her offscreen stupidity, Thiebaud has very weak range and can't play real romantic drama or convey depth. When she tried in the Carlivati years it was embarrassing. So instead they kept trying to turn Britt into a snarky gay 'icon' and that this was somehow queer-coded material by simply telling us over and over that she was one while she was just... a straight woman.

I could not believe they had drag queens at Britt's sendoff while having no actual LGBT story on the show lol. Like I'm sorry, penning a handful of scenes where Britt and dayplayer Brad give forced giggles watching the Nurses Ball does not automatically make this snarky queer-coded content lol. I don't care what easily pleased sea lions on Twitter say.

She had chemistry with Steve. That's the most I'll give her. She was real lucky they were in a bind and she was the B/C player on the show available.

Hated them. Do not especially miss Obrecht the mad scientist who (per her original story) committed horrendous medical crimes while experimenting on various patients. Sorry! I don't mind seeing Obrecht in a villain role coming in and out from time to time; Kathleen Gati is talented. Do I need her hanging around GH indefinitely while people are on a fond first name basis with this madwoman? No! GTFO of here with 'oh, that Liesl!'

Man, this show.

Now Britt on the other hand...lol. You know where I stand on her. In terms of Jason and Britt at least. lol.

I will give her this much though...her character came in when GH really did need something it had been missing at that point...a good firm bitca. A bad girl. And she served that well. And I got Dr. O out of that. Outside of the Britt/Nickolas/Liz triangle which gave my Liz something to do...yeeeah she eventually had no big use.

I forgot both Sabrina and Britt were allegedly gay icons.

Kelly Thiebaud is just a cold actress and inherently unlikeable, IMO.  Similar to RC's Skye.  They can be decent utility players and work in some sense at different times but Britt in particular had very little depth besides constant medical issues and had to birth one of Lulu's kids of course.  She was meant to be the heavy in the Patrick/Robin/Sabrina plot and they kept Britt far too long because that's what GH does.  Lisa Niles walked so Britt could run.

She worked fine with Steve, but as you said, she was practically the only actress available not named Liz, Sam, or Carly at that point.

About Morgan, in the beginning: no problem but no great shakes either.

Later on though definitely problems. In his defense trying to put bipolar on him, seems like just asking for trouble. Not a good idea, IMO anyway.

I loved KT, Britt, Brita, and this was in spite of, not because, of certain things.

ALSO I love Liesl, Dr. O

I'm wondering if there were bits cut from this footage, because to me it seems that may be the case. At 11:23, Laurie tells her psychiatrist that the bar phoned saying that Mark got in a fight and needs to be picked up. It starts to fade to the next scene, you hear some different music begin and get cut off between the static-y cuts, and where you'd expect to see the aftermath of the fight, we cut back to a later scene of Laurie in bed worrying about what's happening. The credits at the end also show that more than Mark, Laurie and Dr. Northcote should have been in this episode. Another character, Brody, played by Ed Setrakian, is mentioned but not shown. Perhaps the original fan who saved this episode has the additional scenes.
    • Anyway… It’s a shame that the video that depicted Leticia’s death was removed from YT.

    • Ms. Phelps holds a BFA in directing from Carnegie Mellon University, awarded in 1972. At a time when women were underrepresented in directing programs, she was one of the few women in her graduating class. To suggest that she possessed no further talents than completely changing the style of music used on soaps seems like a vast underestimate when one reads her online biography through an objective lens. I guess that I should be more clever than to constantly blame misogyny for these misguided interpretations of her management style.  But, I'll never comprehend why fans unquestionably align their opinions even years after fact. Post-modernism, and the ability to reinterpret context through the study of history, seems to elude this conversation.

    • This is 100% correct.  It was even on the nightly news where the US Government would not let the cast and crew travel to Egypt because it was deemed not safe.  The Achille Lauro hijacking took place on October 7, 1985, when the Italian ocean liner MS Achille Lauro was hijacked by four men representing the Palestine Liberation Front off the coast of Egypt, as she was sailing from Alexandria to Ashdod, Israel. The location shoot was probably scheduled to be filmed in mid-October to air throughout November with a two week tape to air date.  Remember on the show they did some in studio scenes doubling for Egypt before shifting the action to Arizona.  It was an awkward end to a truly bizarre storyline.

New episode from late 1973 or early 1974!
    • Coronation Street had a very good story where one of the characters befriended a man who she later learned had been involved in her husband's death - when told right it can be very powerful (not like AMC trying to make it a romance). ATWT almost had a big fire in mid-1994, so this seemed to be a "thing" with P&G at the time. I guess it fits the disaster backstage atmosphere.
    •   @jmgaw did not refer to Luke and Laura. Throughout 78 GH's ratings continued to rise as AW's fell. That turnaround was getting a lot of attention in the soap press with Scotty/Laura, Rick/Leslie/Monica etc . So the 90 min decision was a reaction to that. I guess the thinking was that 60 min expansion had worked so starting AW a half hour before might keep viewers from switching to GH at 3pm. I don't think anybody really thought it would work. The most sensible solution would have been to expand The Doctors and hope for a GH like turnaround, but for reasons unknown TD never went to an hour.
    • Like I said competing organization But this is not what I want to happen.
