Only because he can't be sure they're not related!

Lol.  That's fair.

I am not clamoring for more time spent on Sonny/Sasha.  I just think their relationship and scenes are nice.

Sonny murdered a man a few months ago and is so untouchable of a character, I don’t think he even thinks about it at this point and everyone in the town just forgot the most obvious person did it. Grandpa Sonny doesn’t work for me and neither does untouchable mob boss Sonny. Dead Sonny now we’re talking.

Like I said, I just didn't mind the Sonny/Sasha scenes.  I am not dissecting the entire downfall of Sonny's character in the last 25 years.  It would take a mini novel for me to get into that.

I do love Lucky supporting Liz in the aftermath but I had to laugh at the ridiculousness of Portia letting him sit in on a serious HR meeting, that would never happen IRL.

There is also no way that any hospital, in real life, would have allowed Lucas to operate on Sam.

But he had such a secure hairpiece!

Don't jinx him. He's doing so well.

I don't know what you are talking about. 😜

A shame he was lost in the shuffle in hindsight.

I wonder what the original plan was for him, because it definitely wasn’t supposed to be Brook Lynn’s son or Violet’s bff 😂😂

It seem like he might be Trina's new love interest to me, but they rarely played them together and lost the potential for organic conflict with them on different sides of Sonny vs Ava with his loyalty and history to Sonny and her history and friendship to Ava. But I do wonder if that was really the original plan. I would be curious.

What about Sonny the Lover?

I agree with you. I can't stand watching him.

I don't require Sonny's death. I just want him to go away. Put him, preferably with Brenda, on an island where there is no extradition. Then I would promise to be a happier camper. At least for awhile.

Cannot believe they repeated the same 'twist' with Cyrus and Nina in the church from last year, only with Sidwell and Sasha this time. This is what I mean about these boring crime characters being interchangeable. Please fire everyone in this creative team immediately.

It's what Chris Van Etten does best: repeat shït. That's why I always preferred Dan O'Connor in that writing "team".

I am not sure there ever was a plan for Gio.  It really seems like GM was hired to appear and play at the wedding and Frank liked him.   Then the show just inserted him into the Joss/Trina group and the Q's while they tried to figure out what to do with the character.  Why the show landed on Brook/Dante's secret summer camp love child is a mystery to me though lol.

Pretty sure Mark Teschner confirmed, in an interview, Mazza auditioned for another role (which he did not get) so Frank Valentini created the role of Gio so he could hire him, anyway.

Okay, I vaguely remember that last part, but thank you both for the tea all the same. So they really were sitting on a possible story that wrote itself per usual (Trina/Gio) and just kept making things up then.

Glad I'm not the only one but whenever O'Connor's name was listed first in-episode credits, I knew we'd have something a bit more to watch.

Uneven. But I guess if I had to choose after playing unexpected catch-up on this past week how I would go with ER vs CVE as lead, I am going to have to go with ER with her Carly stan self. Because the episodes where her name is lead in the credits usually have some form of emotional resonance to their writing regardless of the stupid stuff that runs through both of their writings.

I don't like the 'Where's Charlotte' storyline, but I did like the Dante/Lulu scenes. AB played that mix of feisty Spencer, being a friend to Dante over being in love with Sam now, and of course adjusting to it all very well. And I felt those scenes were allowed to breath as two people who loved each other once trying to relate to each other again.

Love the fallout scenes at Q Manor. And as I saw mentioned...yes, Tracy and Ned's reactions were the total highlights. I also enjoyed them ripping Drew to shreds. I enjoyed Carly going off. I felt Michael was the weak link in some good scenes. He only brought it at the end.

And speaking of stupid stuff in the writing? Of course, I'm talking about that sharp return to the wacka wacka humor 'style' just forced into all the above good scenes per Ava, Ric, and Lucas. As I was wondering what was going on Ava, Ric, and the bounced cards...in walks Lucas. And I rolled my eyes at the rl meet-cute cuz MW and VH were ATWT actors though duh they are related on this show...taking me out of scene. Cuz again, did they really have this many scenes under OldLucas? But the revelation that the reason Carly is broke is because of the Cassandines can only mean Nik is being petty OR Val is coming. RME.

And silly continued with Trina and Kai. They just can't do gradual on this show, can they? Like seeing Trina. Those scenes were bad.

So Dex is dead, dead. And I found the Joss/Anna scenes where Anna just popped up, though she had been at the hospital weirdly jarring. And EM was oddly underwhelming. But Liz's face when she realized that what was happening with Dex is the same as what went down with Sam was priceless.

And Nina/Willow vs Carly as the coda. Can't say I hate that. A classic Friday cliffhanger cuz it's Nina vs Carly really...with kids in the middle after a good fallout.

Overall, a good week though. Does that (scarily) make ER the stronger writer?

LOL!!! Them facts.

And it's funny you said that about O'Connor given what I just wrote. And perhaps it is just because I had the idle time to notice the writing style after all this time of watching and observing, but yeah, I definitely have grown to dislike CVE's writing style. And now it's a case of two evils here lol.

Oh, absolute. A true case of multiple evils, adding in Frank Valentini & Nathan Varni, both of whom should be removed from their present positions.
