Ahead of Saturday's annual "Day of DAYS" fan event at the Peacock Theater in Los Angeles, Peacock announced that it has renewed "Days of our Lives" for a 61st season, which will keep the show on the streaming service through at least the 2025-2026 television season.

As the exclusive home for the long-running daytime drama series, Peacock is the ultimate destination for fans to access the past season and new episodes of the series every weekday. Ranking among the top 10 titles since its exclusive move to Peacock in 2023, "Days of our Lives" will celebrate its 15,000th episode on Monday, December 2.

In honor of the show's current 60th anniversary season, Peacock will host "Day of DAYS," a complimentary event that includes some exciting surprises lined up in honor of the milestone season and offering fans the opportunity to not only meet their favorite cast members in person but also participate in autograph signings, pose in photo ops featuring backdrops from the series and much more throughout the day. For the first time ever, in conjunction with Sony Pictures Consumer Products, the event will have celebratory merchandise for sale on site.

Since its premiere on November 8, 1965, "Days of our Lives" has garnered 62 Emmy Awards and 392 nominations, including most recently making Daytime history with Dick Van Dyke winning an Emmy for his guest star appearance. The show has also won multiple People’s Choice Awards, GLAAD Media Awards and Prism Awards.

Featuring a mix of classic genre traditions and groundbreaking narratives reflecting modern life, "Days of our Lives" remains a perennial favorite among viewers of all ages.

That's wonderful news. I am glad the new regime will get more breathing room and I'm glad the cast and crew will have work for a few more years. And as it turns out this may end up being the only relatively successful move from a daytime format to streaming.

Hopefully!! This soap, as you stated, can still be turned around, and judging by the returns we've been told are coming by May and June of 2025, I have faith that Paula Cwikly & Jeanne Marie Ford know what needs to be done, and that the upcoming returns won't be story-dictated in masks or retcon stories.
