I interpreted that scene(s) differently.

To me, it was more a production issue of only using one set for all of Jada's scenes today.  Rather than utilizing their home set, which would have seemed more organic.

I don't mind the pairing, nor does it seem improper.

However, it is a sign of the time gap in production, that age differences have become more of a hot button issue in the gay community within the past few months.  And given that these scenes were filmed when the IPhone 3 was still a big deal, that issue is unfortunately not part of the discussion regarding this relationship.

I don't think he does.  He's 48?  He looks fine.  And I hate Leo.

There have been years and years of much younger women hooking up with older men since the beginning of time.  I don't see a difference.  We all know Leo and hate him, but on paper for Javi-Leo is funny, has a good job, seems like a good time, etc.  I buy that Javi could be attracted to Leo.  I just don't buy the relationship because there was no build up.

What's the hot button issue between age differences in the gay community?  Not trying to argue I am just legitimately curious as I haven't heard much about that.

Has Gabi not actually told Javi everything Leo has done? Even without that, I’m trying to find what a young guy would want from an older guy like Leo that isn’t even successful. He lives in a hotel room, not even a suite and writes a soap opera which I guess is paying him enough to live in a room and not I dunno get a full home or apartment. Just my experience as a gay man, most of the older gays with someone almost 20 years younger were actually rich.

Wow, rude.  And I am not even the original poster.

Gabi has told Javi most everything Leo has done to her knowledge.  I don't think she knows the whole scope of everything Leo has done, but Javi was fully warned.  I don't know if I met someone living in hotel suite or not I would probably still think that was pretty fancy lol

Greg Rikaart looks amazing for 48; unfortunately, with the way this soap shoots and dresses their actors, it comes off worse. I see plenty in their 20's and 30's who look ten-times worse.

This is him this past June at the Daytime Emmy Awards:

Exactly; we've seen plenty of heterosexual relationships do the same thing in terms of age. It shouldn't be a double-standard for homosexual ones.

I am surely not propping Leo but I would also say he acts younger which makes a big difference.  He still seems like he's up for fun and going out and not passing out on the sofa chair at 8.  I do think that makes a difference in a relationship.

Ugh, I sound like some sort of Leo stan, which you all know I am not.  I just can believe someone from out of town with little frame of reference could find him attractive and fun.

    • Coming into June...   It just occurred to me that seeing Carter/Hope engaged that there was something missing. Oh, yeah! DAPHNE. I missed a few episodes, but she left, right? So is Ridge going to be the spoiler for Carter/Hope now? I felt that Daphne/Carter/Hope had more legs to it. But I guess we will see.   I did enjoy that show circling back around to Luna/Will/Electra. Katie was spitting nothing, but truth. Same for Sheila. And it's good to see Luna vs Electra, and they gave off more adversary chemistry this time around versus when they were at Deacon's.    I was happy to see Liam reduced to C plot.
    • To bring over from the May Sweeps Thread from @Chris B   I know the fashions have gotten mixed reviews but I actually like what the new costume designer is putting the cast in. It feels more modern and the more tacky pieces I feel make sense for rich people. They're buying for the brand and the price and we often see celebs in things like this. Especially for a character like Nikki, I feel the more over the top (and tacky), the more realistic it is.   I agree. While it has been hit and miss no question, I have found it fascinating to watch what the costume designer is attempting to do with the various characters and their clothes. Some have been overdue. Some have been fascinating. But (outside of Billy) not boring to watch. I definitely find it more modern as well.   My growing issue has been it's not good that the best reason to watch Y&R as of late has been to see what people are wearing rather than the writing. It feels like a red flag.
    • Haha. The fact that I stopped regularly viewing at the same time and know what you are talking about is chef's kiss.    I'm slowly bingewatching Nurse's Ball Week. But it's slow for me because a lot of the same tics and writing flaws for me that made me throw up my hands is still evident *cough*CVE*cough* Thankfully, there are some things I like also and from a glance in the GH May Thread, it seem like it had a good Sweeps with good fallout. And do I even need to mention Nina finally slapping the taste out of Carly's mouth? See? Regardless of her flaws, I do enjoy Korte-headed episodes over CVE-headed episodes because they always seem to have more emotional resonance to long-time fans.
    • And that charity does still get mentioned from time to time. I want to say the last time was some time this year, too.
    • Oh, no. Vernon has definitely had his moments.   Choose silence anyone?
    • Search YT for Edwyn Sanchez, he posted an AI enhanced episode of ATWT and it is beautiful.
    • That's so funny, that's how I listen to Montecito - while walking my dog. I'll have to check out Forever & a Day.
    • I need to listen! Forever & a Day was a fun soapy podcast to have available when I walked the dog.
    • A few years ago, Devon and Nick started a charity organization together, I think it's for housing in the community.
    • I’m hoping to start getting to know Vernon better this month. He’s really only been a bunch of noble and good tropes so far. I don’t want him to be taken down the way Ted has been, but it seems he was a long-running Senator and no matter what party you are, lasting longer than twenty years means you’re looking out for you (and not who you’re supposed to be looking out for) most of all. I want to get to know both Vernon and Anita beyond their Dupree posturing. Clifton Davis can sleepwalk handling the kind of material Christopher Bernau and David Lewis handled and I’d like to see more than just a saint.
