So Aiden has basically already accepted that Lucky's going to leave? Aiden should be angry at his father. Where the drama here? Also, what the heck was the point in recasting if Aiden is going to continue to just pop in a couple of times a month?

This story with Trina and the jock feels WAY too cliche. I've seen this plot play out way better on other shows and movies.

That ending with Danny yelling at Lucas was awful. That could have been set up so much better.

One of the few duds cast during that era of the show.

Miranda was a pretty large miss though lol.   Not only did Leslie Horan have no chemistry with Ingo, I can't imagine her being able to play a long lost Cassadine.   She must have had a great audition or something.  I can't believe GH fumbled such a critical casting like that.  I don't think a single viewer anywhere ever thought Jax would leave Brenda for that simpering, whiny woman.

I also recall the show recasting Gina Cates and testing her with Jason, and that actress was also a big dud.

I wonder what the original idea was for Alexis's backstory.  I think NLG was already cast and airing while Miranda was still on.  Of course I have no idea when the decision was made to dump the whole Miranda is a Cassadine story.

I am one of the few people that really liked Alexis/Ned.  In the post-Lois era, I thought she was a nice fit for Ned.  The gatekeeping stuff was annoying mostly because it was self-appointed and no one really asked them to do it lol.

Long post short, I can see where NLG is coming from, but I simply think the characterization of Alexis changed a lot post 2001 to make her much messier and sometimes pathetic.  I think @Vee said the character suffered a lot of humiliation and I would agree with that.  NLG has mostly kept Alexis's integrity and played her the best she could.  I can definitely see the confusion Nancy may have faced through the years trying to play some of Alexis's lesser moments, but I think there was always a character there.

P.S. @titan1978 I am so sorry for your loss!

From what I can recall they were making it up on the fly. She was recurring at first, and they didn’t even name her as a Cassadine. Just a cousin, and I can’t remember if that was even established right away. Was she also secretly in love with Stefan before her full past was revealed? That was such a rough period on the show after years of good story.

And thank you.

Moving on to the show right now, I really wish Michael was taking a heel turn and gave us a little bit of Alan plotting against them. But as it stands too many people know right now to make that work. I did enjoy Jason kicking Drew’s ass more than I should. And Isaiah is making the chemistry rounds and so far he is promising as a performer, even if we don’t know much about the character yet.

Lucky is suffering from the same thing that has plagued Jason- his initial return story is over. Now what. They should already establish what he is doing for money, his relationships besides Liz, Aiden, and Laura. Like Dante, who could use a larger circle himself. Even his new pal Isaiah- there is history there and it’s just being left offscreen. Where is the story?

I am not sure if Alexis was in love with Stefan, but there was some sort of incestuous vibe there.  She was very jealous of the Katherine/Stefan relationship and I wasn't really clear why she teamed up with Luke to make it appear K/S were brother and sister.  1997 was a rough year lol.

This would absolutely be the right move for Michael.  He's been boring for far too long.  The show seems afraid for Michael to be anything but a hero, although given his chaotic upbringing and parents it makes so much sense.

I liked them. But they did whine about their families for too long. I agree about Alexis.

She was, and those scenes where he banished her (and kissed her) were brilliant.

Chad only comes alive these days when he is turning dark. That's what they should let him do, just like in 2014. I would still recast him in time and after a break following this story because I think Duell is spent, but it's past time they let Michael loose.

The Lucky situation is so much the same problem this team/regime has with any major returning character that I can't attribute any of it to JJ, who has been putting in the work. These creatives just have no idea how to write this or any kind of nuanced issue other than reiterate the same points and retread the material until Frank says there is an opening in the taping schedule to start changing things up. I agree it's high time he makes a decision to stay, gets a job, etc. But even then they won't take the time for enough scenes digging into what got him here.

I believe I heard Alexis had a daughter she was hiding and that RH was gonna play her and do romeo/Juliet story with Lucky but that was scrapped and Elizabeth was created

Michael Quartermaine should have never been a temporary thing; it was a nice turn for the character, and would have been a fantastic story: Carly, Jason & Sonny all tried keeping him from AJ & the Quartermaines, and in the end he chose them? Whew.... the story was there, and the "writer" ignored the fück out of it.

Michael is essentially a full Q these days and has been since the early 2010s, when RC (and I think maybe someone prior) began moving him hard towards them and kept him heavy in their sphere and business. The only thing that hasn't stuck is the name.

I feel like it was likely Guza when Michael woke up from his coma, and it was Drew Garrett in the role?

I honestly don't remember the exact turn but I guess it did begin then and to their credit Guza and Garin Wolf did play some of it, setting the table for a couple years as Michael began spending more and more time with the family and the business. But it was under RC that Michael became a permanent fixture at the Qs and ELQ, grew close to A.J., Ned and Tracy, etc. That's stuck, and I do think Chad has good chemistry with Jane especially.

I do enjoy seeing Chad Duell & Jane Elliot work together; honestly, even if I hate the character Elliot's Tracy is opposite, I love seeing her work. I'm just happy we have the Dame of GH back! Her exit left a noticeable hole in the canvas.

Oh I remember that kiss!  Back when the Cassadines were creepy.  I am not going to lie, I thought SN's best role was Stefan.  I know GH did him dirty in the end and Stefan amounted to nothing, but I found the character much more complex than Steve Johnson.

Perhaps Ned/Alexis were popular?  I just haven't really heard many people express their like for them.  They are mostly forgotten, but I would say it was probably Alexis's best pairing?  It got weird when they did the whole Eddie's Angels stuff though.

I actually didn't mind some of the Sexis material either and I know that's not popular.

From what I remember it seem that way. Didn't someone call her out on it, too?

So did I. They should stay at odds since the writers don't want them to ever be in a truce. Given they both have kids with Sam, I expect them to really get into it with each other.

He really is. That smile as he was giving Molly the cupcake with the candle was swoonworthy.

Taste!! I come to love Steve, but I met SH as Stefan and perhaps my love of Wuthering Heights is showing, but I was smitten. I've never seen a character on a soap like him at that point and his intellect was just...Mmm.

I thought they were popular so I love it here, but it always surprises me to hear any dislike. Perhaps I related more because I was the 'gatekeeper' for my family growing up. :)

I remember Alexis having her crush on Sonny and how neurotic she was about it. But I had stopped watching when it actually happened.
