Oh yeah he was in jail for a good minute at least.

But he saved the governor's daughter from a bomb and got pardoned.

That sounds vaguely familiar.

The love for Sonny(MB) and his cronies is going to be the demise of GH.

If it was gonna, I pretty much think it woulda by now. Instead there are legions of fans who, like me, hate & detest the narcissistic little man.

As do I. And for me the most poetic choice would be that, unlike in 2012 where it was Monica who knew and had been protecting him for years, we discover it is a resentful Michael, who found out from his grandmother that A.J. was once again clinging to life and has been shepherding him ever since, torn between two fathers. At the worst possible time for Sonny, preferably.

That would be a twist I'd love to see happen... which means it likely won't. Plus, with Sean Kanan firmly at The Bold and the Beautiful [for now] and his feelings towards his last tenure, I'd wager either Billy Warlock or a recast would be necessary for bringing AJ back to Port Charles. Although, his exit with Alan, Edward, Emily & Lila guiding him up the General Hospital staircase into the white light was moving.

B&B drops people (including Kanan) regularly like they're churning out Happy Meals. There will inevitably be a window to get him back, if FV didn't hate him.

Hence why Valentini has to go so we can [try] to get him back.

Kanan is happy making pizzas on B&B. He's not leaving.😂

I doubt he'd leave Kimberlin Brown for Maurice.😂

Sonny scenes are awkward and embarassing.

I don't (want to) understand who he is supposed to be on this show, but MB is making it even worse. And it makes no sense that he would kill John Cates in the Q Estate in the first place.

Oh and the idea that this old man had sex with his ex while visiting his grandchildren is sad.

The character needs to be written out, he has become a real problem. What was his last story that worked?

I prefer Ric as the town lawyer. Scotty reminds me of a pimp at a strip club.

Him off of his bipolar meds and everyone seemingly not ass-kissing him. AKA the storyline Patrick Mulcahey was pushing.

I won’t be so churlish as to deny that the show is more exciting, the action has accelerated and the drama has ramped up in the last few weeks, with the return of well-placed cliffhangers, but damn, I don’t like this writing at all.

Both in terms of putting the chess pieces back exactly where they were before, and a lot of the character depth being stripped away.

It’s clear to me (and probably everyone here) that Kristina will be in the frame for Cates’ murder, presenting Sonny, Michael and Carly with a ‘dilemma’ and seeking ways to ‘save’ her while shielding Sonny from justice- again.

My words exactly. Such a shame.

That's what I heard also... It's such a pity what happened in the end. I still believe if given the chance PM could have transformed the show into something marvelous.

Here, we agree.

Maurice did say in print or online that he liked the bipolar storyline and the town turning on Sonny a few months ago. He said it was a good acting challenge. That was before he apparently had some sort of mental health episode over it, of course.

When Mo doesn't like a story turn (like the blowback from A.J. in 2014) he isn't exactly quiet. I'm not saying it didn't happen, but I think it's easy for people to jump to blaming Benard (or LW) for everything. I think his health may have been in the mix, but I think his being actively blamed for the Mulcahey debacle is just a convenient go-to at this point based on past history.

Was Claire Labine's start a little rocky upon her arrival or was the transition a smooth one? I'm thinking in terms of her being the last writer who was into a more character based show-something PM seemed to be attempting.

I personally felt Claire hit the ground running and it was a smooth transition.  Wendy Riche had started a year earlier and had cleaned up a lot problems plaguing the previous era(s).  It helps that Riche/Labine seem to mostly on the same page and working together.  Plus, I don't think Bill Levinson's GH wasn't awful and the tone wasn't that far off from Labine IMO.

About current GH I don't really have much to say about this Sonny story.  I was hoping for something different, but it's a wacky Carly, Sonny, Michael coverup and Kristina will probably get blamed.  Then there will be this dilemma when Kristina gets charged.  I feel like it's a story we've seen in different variations 10 time in the last 20 years.
