Yeeeah execution.

That whole week felt like one of those bad weeks under the New/Old Writers. But again...it was about FV style. The quick flash. Smh. And I just find that sad because there is also something different going on that I place squarely on the new hires which is probably why it's keeping my interest.

I mentioned under the PM thread that there was so much potential to Anna/Laura vs Sonny because given the history of all the characters, the storyline would be ripe for conflict and a town divided. An umbrella story if you will. So it's funny watching this Sonny Kills Wagger storyline play out because the more it does, the more of an umbrella tale it has turned into. And while I think we all are 100 % against Sonny in this, it IS dividing the town as much as Anna/Laura vs Sonny would have.

Those Diane vs Sonny scenes? Unexpected given Diane's M.O., but also expected because Diane has a history of going to bat for her BFF. Also she KNOWS he did it.

Tracy already saying Sonny did it!!! And if we were under PM, I feel like more people would listen to her. Under the New/Old Writers, it seems we are back to Grumpy Ole Tracy...no nuances. Just a plot device. And now they are going to throw her in a juvenile blocker between Sasha and Cody...who after 50 years and me having a baby...finally are official?? Given Tracy's history, there's so much more she could be doing on the current canvas. So this is just ridiculous.

That said...I did like how the New/Old Writers used Tracy to start Chase/BLQ off into their own potential new storyline. A talk about if they want kids. Mind you, the last thing this show needs is another baby storyline so I RME cuz FV and ABC being okay okay-ing baby stories came to mind at the same time.

And ugh now anytime I see Anna playing juvenile scenes with my Beast. Just as annoying now as how I feel anytime Kristina walks back on my scene. And if she calls that baby Adela one more time...

I see good there...cuz that Mac arresting Alexis scene was a good cliffhanger...but the execution is just lacking for me.

And time for Lucky to come home.

Spoiler

-- Since they're killing off Sam, I think they should have avoided using Lindsay Hartley. She's been so good they should have written another role for her.

-- Since they won't make Sonny pay for killing Jagger, they never should have had him kill Jagger in the first place. It only serves to make viewers angry that Sonny never pays for his crimes.

Spoiler

Honestly I wouldn’t even bother with killing off Sam when you have such a dynamic actress that you’ve seen deliver in the role. I don’t really understand how they have Hartley fill in with all this energy and the thought is hey kill the character instead of just using the much better actress.

Also you’re right. Having Sonny commit yet another cold blooded murder and get away with it, is stupid writing. Alexis is now going to jail until trial because of her dumb daughter and the mobster she created her dumb daughter with. And to make it worse you have Carly and Michael willingly going along with it like it’s just any other day.

Hire her on as Cara Castillo, ASAP!

That's a hire I wouldn't mind at all actually. I liked her as Cara if she can't be Sam.

There's no payoff.

And that's the one thing I don't like about how this is snowballing into an umbrella tale versus the potential one we could have had a few months back.

Unless Sonny is going to have a crisis of conscience or it leads him off in an interesting direction, this is all pointless.

Cara worked for Doctors without Borders. She would have a connection to Anna.

Their connection would be David Hayward.

When Becky Herbst was fired in January of 2011, I always thought the story should have been that Liz moved to Pine Valley, and began working at Pine Valley Hospital, and even began a relationship with Ryan Lavery. And before the end of the series, she returns to General Hospital in Port Charles at the request of Robin. That would have given Elizabeth a brief break from the canvas, and would also connect Liz to Angie, Cara, David, Griffin & Jake, amongst others. It would have been a quick trip into Pine Valley prior to the conclusion of All My Children.

He's a cute little b!tch.😂

I just can't with Michael and his mob daddy cover up for murder.

Chad Duell’s in the same boat as Scott Clifton. He’s a good looking guy but the character and writing for him make him look so unappealing.

Meh.  I think Chad Duell was cute when he was younger but now he's just a decent looking dad.  He isn't as attractive as he was in his 20's, which I get.  Neither am I lol.  I just think Clifton gives some effort while Chad gives no effort at all.  That makes him more unappealing than the writing for his character.  CD always looks bored.

Clinton puts himself into his material, which he needs to do, given the drivel he's had to try and sell for over ten-years. Duell just reads words from the page and hopes it sells. If Duell were on an east coast production he would've been fired by now.

I've said it before but if I thought SC could be tempted away from B&B job security (he can't) I would go after him in a hot second. Bring Dillon back for Tracy and the family, have him still be in entertainment but becoming a kind of quirky mini-mogul in various fields. I'd write Michael out for a couple years and recast.

Clinton is firmly at Bold until Bradley Bell is done with him, but I'd wager if might be able to be persuaded away for a firm guarantee... or even a guest-appearance if approved.

But Dillon being off-canvas feels so wrong.
