DH is weird to me because she doesn't seem uncomfortable with her body.  She wears revealing and tighter stuff when she unfortunately plays Hattie.  It just seems like in her head Marlena has to wear the ugliest suits on the planet to play a Dr successfully or something lol.  MTS and GF seem to put more boxy clothing on when they gain a little weight.  Very much like KS decided to wear the ugliest, oversized sweaters as Maxie for awhile.

As far as Lexi's Kristina (who you know I liked), it seems like either she or the show still wanted to dress her in a way where she still looks 15.  Obviously Mansi looks like an adult unlike Lexi, but she's taken away all the florals and frilliness Lexi used to favor.  She just looks "cooler" and more in style.

I don't really feel bad for GR because he gets to be on everyday for no reason.  I do feel for EOB because both her characters weren't great and she really did try.  She was never going to succeed with the hand she was dealt.

She probably wants Marlena to appear professional 24/7. I'd wager unlike Francis, Scott still tries to wear what she does when she's not at a bigger size. But the clothing material seems to change. One thing I will say: Scott is not afraid to look not made up, especially when Nikki is drunk.

Exactly. On the nose.

I can't even imagine DH/Marlena ever not looking fully made up lol.  I guess she did look rough during the Pit story and during the Possession, but it's been a long time since I've have seen Deidre look a bit rough around the edges.  I think MTS is just more comfortable going there and DH is just a classic 80's soap diva and not trying to be realistic at all.  But two different soaps and two different vibes I suppose.

But, if you recall, when Kate & Kayla & Marlena all 3 "died" Dee was sans makeup for about 20 days. I recall in an interview her saying that she loved it, not having to spend the time in Hair & Makeup. But MTS, of course, took it to a whole new level this past year. Genie is just personal preferences for a roomy blazer & it always has to be plain black.

Was DH without makeup?  Lol.  She looked the same to me.  Good surgical work and natural beauty works I guess?

Genie is probably uncomfortable about how public her weight became.  I never understand why actresses don't realize boxy doesn't read well on camera and something fitted will always look better.

On a completely unrelated note, RB/Chanel always looks gorgeous and in appropriate attire for the season.  She gets the assignment.

Also, Donna, I just watched the first ten minutes of Las Vegas because I was too lazy to find my remote and feel satisfied.

I think it’s because of the way her characters were treated, especially Gwen. What Leo did to her and how dumb she was written (after years of being one of the smartest characters on the show) was just cruel and disgusting, for literally no reason. It’s like it was written especially to make Gwen look as bad as possible. And the fact that it was probably written that way just because somebody (I won’t say who lol) got some kind of sick pleasure out of it makes it even worse.

That totally stacked the deck against Theresa, who probably had no chance of any kind of redemption or ongoing storylines because she was paired with RSW’s Alex.

Exactly.

I wouldn’t blame her if she was furious about all of this.

My Gwen speculation was that if this turns out not to be Abby, Gwen would be the one to reveal the truth, which would lead to her redemption.

Here's the proposal, Gwen returns, upset that everyone has instantly embraced Abby, while it took forever for them to accept her as part of the family.  She opens the time capsule, which reveals a piece of evidence that adds to the suspicion that Abby may not be who she claims to be.  All the while, working at The Spectator alongside Chad, he begins to respect her intellect and instincts.  So, eventually when the truth is revealed, Chad and Gwen fall in love.  And maybe someone in Salem would finally use 23&me to prove their identity.

On an unrelated note, proposing that social media validates your opinion is always a loosing argument.  Everyone knows that the social media algorithm only feeds you supporting information.  So, to suggest that “everyone” hates Leo, or loves Marlena's wardrobe, is instantly met with derision.  One would be far better served by just espousing their own opinion and stand by it, without need for validation.

It honestly reminds me of the audience-wide hated "Marley" wig that Anne Heche had to put up with for 4 years. EOB deserves "hazard pay" just for having to wear that awful thing day in & day out.

Yes & she just looked plain, not ugly!

And, there are people who try to tell them this!

LOL!! That is pretty damned lazy!!! What a thing to admit.

I am not ashamed.  Peak HOT Josh Duhamel and Vanessa Marcil?  I own the stupid show on DVD and don't have a DVD player, but I was doing something else and was thinking "I'll allow it.  At least it's not Leave it To Beaver"

My hunch is that this a fake out, and Gabi is not going to believe Connie on Monday.

The character is very unlikable, and it is inexplicable how she is suddenly in everyone's face, while she went completely unnoticed for months while Gabi was in prison.

    • I have to check out his Bela Garody on Search for tomorrow. He was one of the main reasons EON worked for me when I was watching. Truly unforgettable presence. Handsome in the most perverse and sinister way. They don't make faces like that anymore.
    • My favorite moment in SOAPDISH is the HW taking the star to the mall in NJ to improve "morale"!!
    • Oh no! The shoulder pads! I will mourn them when they're gone. Please tell me the head pieces and hats remained!?
    • Shout! TV has now added season 26. Not sure what the reasoning for that was, but maybe it was the one that was ready to go...
    • It's AWFULLY hard to tell.  But out of the (approximately) 16 weeks so far in 2025, Bryton has only had about 12 episodes.  That's significantly less than 1 per week.  Once the actor drops down to less than 1 per week for an extended period of time (such as a 39-week cycle), I start thinking there's no contract in place for him or her.  Surely these folks aren't tying themselves down to a show for a guarantee of 1 or 2 episodes a month.   If I counted right, Bryton has had 21 episodes in the past 24 weeks.  They're either (a) about to kick into high-gear & work his ass off to meet his minimum guaranteed appearances, or else (b) he ain't got a contract that guarantees him squat.
    • These contract guarantees of 1 ep per month are ridiculous. How can you even have a story if your character apprars 4-5 times in a month? It's sad.
    • It's hard to tell with some actors appearing on average 4 times in a month whether they're recurring or just on a low guarantee contract. Someone recurring  like Beth Maitland can be used a lot for several months then disappear. So the monthly tallies aren't enough to go by.
    • Of the so-called "contract" cast members, I'd venture to say these are recurring: Bryton James, Camryn Grimes, and (possibly) Michael Graziadei.  I've suspected since 2018 that Kate Linder and Christian LeBlanc are recurring.  And I believe we all know Miss Ordway is, because she said so. lol.
    • Dante blaming Gio instead of his dweeb son and the other dweeb was just ridiculous. Gio's paternity story is going in circles with no reveal. I've already started fast forwarding Drew and his stupid ho Willow's story. Kristina's story is beyond dumb with no great payoff.
    • Sarah (with the English accent) isn't just some random character.  Sarah was once the housekeeper for Eliot Dorn and Margo Huntington.  One of the following 2 scenarios happened a few months ago: (1):  One night, while Margo wasn't at home, and while Oscar the Doorman wasn't at his post, a burglar sneaked into the private elevator, rode up to the penthouse, stole several thousand dollars worth of Margo's valuable diamonds and pearls, and tied-up Eliot Dorn and Sarah the Housekeeper, ensuring that Eliot and Sarah couldn't pursue the burglar back down to the lobby or phone the police to apprehend the burglar. OR --  (2): Eliot Dorn was SLEEPING with Sarah the Housekeeper, and the two of them conspired to steal Margo's jewelry and went on a lavish spending spree and then tied THEMSELVES up to make it look as though a burglary had occurred in the penthouse. Margo Dorn currently believes Scenario #1 occurred, and she's rather annoyed that the "incompetent police" haven't located her stolen jewels yet.  Eliot and Sarah know that Scenario #2 actually occurred.  When Sarah stopped by the Unicorn and saw Eliot kissing Raven Swift, Sarah snidely said, "Oh! This must be Mrs. Dorn!  Nice to meet you, Mrs. Dorn!" Sarah knew good & damn well Raven isn't "Mrs. Dorn" because Sarah worked for Margo Dorn on a daily basis for many months.  That was Sarah's not-so-subtle way of announcing, "I'll be paying a visit to District Attorney Logan Swift and letting him know that his wife is sleeping with you, and I'll be paying a visit to WMON to let Margo Huntington know that you're sleeping with Mrs. Swift!"  lol.
