Oh God.

I don't see the Deception part of the show going anywhere or fitting with the rest of GH. I am sure Maxie can get another job somewhere else, make her a reporter or something. Tracy is Tracy. Lucy and Natalia can go.
Natalia is a mistake and Lucy was important to the show several decades ago. If they want familiar characters, they can always bring back Simone Hardy and (her son).

All of the baby Irene funeral drama was great today.

So happy to have Ric Lansing back and glad he immediately called Alexis out for pretty much ignoring Molly. Poor thing really had nobody in her corner for real.

Kristina pissed me off standing up when Jordan was supposed to speak but her words about baby Irene were actually beautiful and Mansi did a great job delivering that speech, so did KV reacting to it in silence. Vernee Watson gave another stand out performance as well, loved Stella’s speech.

Now where Kristina really got me angry was calling the baby Adela during the burial ceremony. How dare you woman, I was so happy Molly heard her and read her the riot act. She was totally right the baby is dead because of Kristina’s recklessness so to flaunt being the surrogate carrier in Molly’s face was a nasty dig all things considered. KV and KM really killed it there and deserve some Emmy recognition when the time comes, can’t wait for the continuation tomorrow.

Lindsay Hartley as temp Sam was a nice surprise. She fits so well in the role that when Alexis and Sam alluded to the backstory with Ric it all still worked for me. She also has good chem with the other Davis sisters and DZ as well. I do wonder whats going on with Monaco…

Joss and Trina’s make up scene was nice and I liked the Michael and Willow’s scenes as well.

I felt bad for Lois getting crapped on for her accent but glad she still did well with the Deception presentation. The Natalia and Maxie scenes were kind of interesting but I still could do without this side of the canvas. Cody and James was also a snoozefest for me.

I enjoyed the SonnyAva/Jagger scenes, once again its clear Jagger is headed off the rails. If he really ends up trying to off Ava like Sonny expects I’m gonna laugh, no subtle character sacrifice at the altar here with this writing regime.

I agree with just about everything you said about today's show. Still, the Lois scenes didn't work for me. She was so awkward and stilted during her TV appearance that it all came off like cliche TV drama. The "your accent is so bad" stuff is lame.

Natalia? What is she even doing there? She's the CFO, not some TV hawk show host.

The Lois accent stuff is lame as hell.  Regardless Rena Shines. Any day with Jane Elliot is a great day. Cody/James was cutesy. Best was of course Baby Irene funeral and the Sam/Molly showdown.

Jagger/Sonny/Ava: I am curious where this goes.

I have to admit I've gone to the same well at times with other characters, but I was looking around on Twitter and get the impression some fans think that they deliberately temp recast Sam out of spite for an important day. I'd think if Valentini had that many issues with Kelly he would have just dumped her.

They have a lot of conspiracies lol. I think her and Becky Herbst fan bases are nuts in both good and extremely negative ways but it does seem like their characters get sidelined as an act of retaliation either against said fans or in Monaco’s case, some offscreen behavior that caused chaos for the show bts.

I agree that if there really is a bias Frank should just go ahead and fire them at this point because its glaring and strange.

Not to get too personal but this comment kind of gut punched me but you certainly have a right to feel the way you do about it. Its just when you spend months and months preparing for a child and right when you get to the finish line the life is just snatched away…that’s a pain that is very hard to deal with and having a proper burial and name is one of the few ways to heal and memorialize a life that never got to fully exist but one you had built so much hope and dreams for. These kind of ceremonies are also very important in religious black families so I’m glad they took the time to give the Ashford clan this kind of showcase.

My only issue was that we had a similar plot with Lucy messing up and Sasha having to carry the presentation a few months back. That tells me they have very few ideas of what to do with this side of the canvas. I’d rather just…not see any of it tbh.

I think it did well for a while as they kept making product (isn't that where they sold the infamous Todd Manning doll?), but this feels very out of date. Is Brian Frons back?

I do think that very low priced items might not be a bad idea.

I wonder how Lynn Herring and Jane Elliot feel about this considering they were around in the rating heights of soaps.

Apparently during Covid, LH also played the role, temp but for a while, and they wanted her to stay on permanently. She begged off, citing Duties Directing & Lifetime movies.

As I've been saying, I've been so worried about Molly, being so very alone, why she doesn't have any friends, ... Daddy Ric's arrival was just as perfect as perfect could be.

IT could be that I was the only person who breathed a sigh of relief & said, "That was great! Kristina didn't do or say anything wrong!!

I really appreciated Aunt Stella appreciating Kristina.

That didn't bother me, I bet many surrogates name the babies inside them. BUT, she should not have been the last person to lay a rose on the grave. No,Tolly should've been last.

Yes, and yes, and yes again.

All agreement except I LOVE JAMES!

    • Aww, yeah it's very heartbreaking and I mostly enjoyed the Nola/Vanessa scenes because they finally let their walls down and came together in a beautiful moment. So Nola was at the hospital already and bumped into Vanessa, who had MRI papers that fell out of her hand and Nola went down to pick them up and asked her what was going on. Later, Vanessa confided in her about her disease. Then, Nola told Zachary on the beach (he prodded her and already alluded to knowing something was going on with Van), and then Vanessa found out she told him and got a little upset. Now, however, Nola is strangely absent while everyone is mourning her death. I'm curious if Nola will actually tell people about her MRI results. I would assume so. Only Nola, Rick, Roger and Zachary know anything, although there is the MRI results letter from the mail that everyone has missed seeing at home. I'm sure it'll all come out at some point. But... I just saw the next episode and the opening already cut Vanessa out and added Dahlia and Zachary. I guess Maeve is gone for a long time

That will break my heart seeing the town continue to mourn her and assume she's dead. I can't wait to see her return though, and I have to imagine feelings will be torn between loving that she's alive and being very angry she did all of this. While I hate what Vanessa is doing, I'm happy to hear it's not totally against her character. I think you're right, had Henry still been around, she wouldn't put him through this. I'm still surprised she is with Bill, though. I get her feelings on Matt, because she wants him to move on, but still very heartbreaking. I'm glad this was Maeve's choice to have a break vs. being fired.
    • Yes.  I remember them together during the early summer of 1986.  They didn't share scenes again for 30 years until 2017 because Carrie wasn't on the show when Anna returned during Sydney's kidnapping.
    • I can see Kim being that way. Well, Kyle didn't have to say yes. LOL. The suicide attempt feels plot-driven. I don't know if even Long could've made it work. She'd spent so much time trying to make Reva and Kyle into a couple, it feels odd to just have them give up. Not to mention how odd it is to have Maeve agree to marry him. Re Charita---surely they could've at least tried  finding clips with who was still there. Maybe they wouldn't have been "big" moments, but surely she'd interacted with Ross, Vanessa, and Henry. Vanessa had dated Ed, FCOL. But Mo and Rick were there---surely they could've bothered to find some clips of her with them (and they did interact a fair amount) and used them. And with Ed they could've found some shot of her talking to him and just not cut to whoever was playing Ed in the clip. That to me is what feels lazy---they had more than a year to figure it out, and they went with a bunch of photos. If you were sort of centering it on Rick anyway---then find clips with them and use 'em.
    • I definitely think it's time to write off Nina for good. I think her killing Drew might actually be a good idea. She could completely lose it after losing both Sasha and Willow and she ends up murdering Drew and eventually she gets caught and sent away to prison for a long time.
    • I hope it's okay to post this here(as in from DC)
    • Quick question - did Christie and Leann share any scenes together in the '80s before Leann left the show?
    • This is the perfect way to encapsulate the situation. So many morally-reprehensible stories were foisted on the show and its characters in ATWT's dwindling years. Rape should never be used as a cheap plot device or in a way that degrades the victim. Jack's sexual assault was another heinous example of how nasty the the show's tone had become. The fact that people like Hogan Sheffer, Ron Carlivati, Jean Passanante, Charles Pratt, Dena Higley, etc., somehow end up winning awards for their material, decimates the credibility and integrity of the awards, IMHO. Soaps used to have a solid moral core and did not originally wallow in the gutter, rolling around in filth and depravity just to be cool, hip, campy, or whatever else modern-day PTB aim for. Thank you. Cruelty, degradation and misogyny are not components which lend themselves to successful soaps, which have always been predicated on warmth, family bonds, and providing a comforting haven for their audience. The genre has been crippled because the cynical and ignorant executives in charge understand neither the shows nor what the audience wants to see.
    • Beverlee was on a whole other level from Kim. It's not like they were in competition with each other. I get the feeling that Kim had a slight problem with the super-professional, serious cast members who just wanted everyone to be prepared and do the work, as she seems to like having fun on set. (She's made a few cracks about Chris Bernau being like that). Bev was definitely one of those. But they didn't work together that much. Yeah, they made her manic and also much weaker. She always had a vulnerability, but wanting to kill herself over that guy? No way. Not only that, he didn't leave her! She insisted he marry Maeve. When they did the tribute to Bert/Charita, the compilation of scenes with her showed how much the cast had been almost totally turned over in a relatively short period of time. Nearly every shot was of her by herself because most people she had worked with had been fired, left or been replaced. I assume they couldn't show her with people who hadn't been replaced, like Don Stewart, Elvera Roussel, or Robert Newman because they would have had to pay them for using their clips. It's dreadful to watch. Like she had no connection to the current show.
