Ha! Love being a Diane trigger!

Also l am very pleased. I talked to a Kraze fan who was being ugly to Kate. Turns out he is a Lexi stan. We made a deal. Post all he wants about Lexi and Blaze, just don't mention  Kate, not at all.  And he agreed!

I mean, recurring or not getting rid of Violet is top priority on my list lol.  I totally get where you are coming from though.  You are so good at knowing who's recurring and who's not.  Half of my cuts wouldn't be helpful for the bottom line.

It would be extremely easy to write Brook/Chase/Violet and Joss out and have them come back somewhere down the road.

I think Duell has been coasting for years.  I liked him when he first started with the show, but at this point I think they need a more dynamic actor.   I think Duell is capable.  I just don't think he really tries.

Yeah, Burton could pretty much be written out tomorrow lol.  I just think Sonny is probably the character that needs a break more.   I think MB has a larger following than SBu though.

I mean, altogether, this soap could use some of its recurring cast cut, especially if they're not going to be used to their fullest potential. Let's be real, only one-fourth of the cast is realistically used in episodes until it comes time for guarantees to be met, and then we're force-fed drivel.

He has been coasting since Michael went back from Quartermaine to Corinthos. Adamson's temporary stints infused so much into the role it was refreshing to see. But yeah, Duell does not try... I saw him on The Bay and he tried on that. He just needs to be challenged again.

Oh, he does and I am fully understanding of that. It's just... unfortunately, LOL!

There are so many recurring characters I forget even exist until they pop up like Brad/Teri.  That's not a slam on them, as I like both characters just fine, but they are used so infrequently I forget about them.  I know GH is supposed to feel like a big community.  It's just hard to keep up with some of the very fringe characters.  I'd rather less recurring cast that does more.

I think Michael needs to ditch the good guy/family man role.  It's just boring.  Duell doesn't seem to enjoy it either.  Michael needs to have some real edge.

Mhmm, and it's also why I was happy with Patrick Mulcahey: he'd weave characters in mid-scenes and mid-episodes, which was refreshing and gave it a more community feeling.

YUP! Making him a daddy x2 was a mistake, too. I also don't buy him as an ELQ CEO or involved in Aurora at all. With all he went through post-coma, I do wish he'd been the one diagnosed with bi-polar, or PTSD that gets triggered.

I find all three of them very boring and don't think that they are needed on the show in order for the stories to move on.
Anna has no family ties, I am bored with her love life and she can be replaced with a new character in the cop stories.
I think that Sam's story has been told and it is time for the other Davis girls to shine.

Sascha bores me to death. Six years is a very long time for a character with no ties, who never had a successful story.

BTW I would get rid of Deception. I don't see how these scenes fit with the rest of the show.

He is not a very dynamic actor and the marriage to Willow is not helping things.

To be honest, both of Carly's kids should be recast.

I don't think Anna needs familiar ties or a love interest. No soap character does, in my opinion. Anna serves her purpose, and her connections on-canvas are just as important. The main problem is this is the longest stint Finola Hughes as ever done as Anna. Twelve years. Her previous longest stint was from 1985 to 1992. And think it's showed in [some] storylines for Anna.

Sasha has some ties to the canvas, and I'd wager her connection to Nina has been a success with viewers, who [still] desire her to be Nina's long-lost daughter over Tree.

Adam Harrington is a contract player. He began in February as one. He is now rumored to be leaving.

Sasha is on the show to date Cody. Her continued presence on the show depends on how their relationship turns out. If Cody leaves town, Sasha likely leaves with him.

I thought CD was very good in the beginning especially in the rape reveal and in his early trauma response behavior.   Like @Liberty City mentioned, all that trauma/PTSD disappeared and he's just a regular, well adjusted family man.  Due to the fact CD has been barely trying for years I would recast, but I do think CD is capable of a lot more.  The fact that CD really struggles with romantic chemistry with everyone would also be a reason to ditch him.  He's had a lot of romances and his best one was Abby the stripper.

He is not any longer; ABC updated their cast bios (which are only for regular-status cast) and he was not included, suggesting he's been demoted back to recurring status. It's how we had confirmation of Charles Mesure & Kristen Vaganos' status change. He's recurring.

Abby was an amazing romance... as was Sabrina. The missed Michael romance? Maxie. When they were both going to grief counseling, I had some sense of chemistry between them, and thought that'd be an interesting pairing for them both. I think they need to challenge the role of Michael and if Duell does not respond... they should reach out to Adamson and bring him in ASAP.

You liked Michael/Sabrina?  I did not know that.  It wasn't his worst romance, but it was Sabrina.  The Courtney level of propping made me hate her for life.  She was secondary by the time she hooked up with Michael but all that baby drama with Lily's brother? was weird.

I forgot all about Abby lol I liked her though. I watched Chad Duell’s interview with Steve Burton and Bradford Anderson a while back and it was clear his heart isn’t really in acting anymore which is why his performances are so lackluster. He’s competently saying the lines but that’s probably all they’ll ever get out of him so I’d recast the same way they did for Kristina. The son of Carly, AJ and Sonny with his backstory shouldn’t be so mediocre, IDC what loyalty Mo, Burton and LW have to him.

He did perk up when talking about comedic material which is why I’d make Michael a sloppy drunk and see what he could do with it  but I’d still rather see a new actor takeover.

    • Deadline is reporting that Jake Schreier, who recently directed Thunderbolts* (a return to form quality-wise for the MCU IMO), is the frontrunner to direct the MCU X-Men reboot.  I thought he did an excellent job with Thunderbolts* - in a way, that seemed like an audition for the X-Men revolving around a group of misfit character that come together under a common goal. ‘X-Men’ Movie At Marvel Studios Circling ‘Thunderbolts*’ Director Jake Schreier To Assemble New Team – The Dish
    • Laura was at such a cool place by season 7. There were many exciting avenues to take the character, I wish they had explored the different dynamics within the friendship circle. Watching Karen and Laura have more conflict, with Laura becoming the advice giver to Val is something I always wanted.  And why wait until she dead until you bring on her mom? Yep. Yup. I didn't care for it.
    • Thanks.  Yes, I believe this is his first time with the BDWs.  Was O'Connor still listed with the BDWs?
    • The flow of each episode has been so much better
    • And her evolution was so subtly done. There was nothing like the depraved shows later on, like Game of Thrones, where they said a woman needed to be raped in order to find empowerment. The layers of Laura were what got me hooked on Knots, somewhere in the season 3 repeats. And I agree that her becoming a therapist would have made sense - look at how much her trauma over her mother drove her decisions early on.
    • I think that the problem with Laura was that she had grown to love herself and saw her value in both herself, her career, and her marriage.  She had this inner strength and confidence that Lynn/Bernard didn't know how to harness/write for because they were more interested in generating conflict amongst emotionally immature people. Karen/Mac and Gary/Val were all immature/stubborn to a fault even though they all had grown/evolved.  So the Latham's could key into their essence/history to generate the standard soap opera tropes and stories for them. Even the season 8 conflict with Laura's pregnancy and Greg not being cool with it didn't diminish Laura's fire and strength.  You saw how she was able to move on and live her life as a single mother because she'd already done that after Richard took off.   I saw her response to Greg's kissing Paige as 'that's my husband and I can't change him.. but once I find something better, I'll toss himself'.  She wasn't emotionally tied to him nor his money.. and I think that was partly why she was such a unique and interesting character in the nighttime soap world in the 80s.
    •   They actually had great chemistry to as friends in the scene I felt. A shame it was the first onscreen interaction. Looks better than Bill/Hayley’s house. I absolutely loved that! I feel the exact same way. This is just facts. Those scenes today between them were electric.
    • If The Real Housewives of Dubai is on hiatus/pause (a.k.a. done), then we need a way for Caroline Stanbury to come back to Ladies of London.
    • I hate quick snip scenes.  Such a tired hold-over from the 1980s.  And that nonsense does not belong on BTG.  Bring back the long scenes.
