Sloan still has story left and the show has access to JS's practical twin with Tate's fiancée, who did a very good job.

Yes, access indeed.

Leo Howard (Tate) and Natasha Hall (temp Sloan) are getting married the first week of June.  He posted that he couldn't make it to a fan event for another show he used to be on, due to the wedding.

It is hard not to be reminded of backstage events when this many actresses have left or been fired in the past year.

And the absence of Wendy during the solution to Li's murder feels especially odd.  Back in the 80s, Tripp and Wendy would've spent the entire summer in Montana tracking down Clyde, and falling in love.

It would have still probably been boring lol.  I honestly don't think we've seen the last of Tripp/Wendy.  Lucas Adams gets fired and re-hired once a year lol.

So, between last Friday & today Brandon Barash got a haircut & now not only does he look like he's sporting a porn 'stache but he has a pin head to boot!

So, EJ thought playing possum would work, huh? This night is going to come back to haunt him!

So, Ron is back & they're using flashbacks with an absolute vengeance. I know in Demonic Possession 1.0 that Reilly literally was concerned about wearing the audience out on DevilDoc so when they decided to extend he decided by several more months, he made a plan to use a great many flashbacks rather than write new scenes to explain what the flashback could. Before you knew it he had invented a new trope.

Are you suggesting that he's the Matthew Ashford of this generation? (without the humor or charisma)

Well, yes and no lol.  Tripp doesn't get irrevocably killed off on a regular basis.  He just leaves in the most boring manner.  MA has to suffer the ultimate humiliation each time he leaves the show.

The way the show left Wendy/Tripp's exit like it was an extended vacation just makes me assume one (or both) will be back sooner rather than later.

All these flashbacks are unnecessary.

To me, it's bad news when the biggest sign of Ron's return is that Leo is getting more airtime and is as obnoxious as ever.

It's horrendous.

It was! It was terrible!! And who wrote the episode? Jamey....ugh!!

Similar to how Dimitri just exited off screen when he was a central player in the baby switch smh

That’s another reason why you don’t give a character years worth of story when you only have the actor for 6 months.

I think the show would be wise to recast in the future.  Sloan still has story left and the show has access to JS's practical twin with Tate's fiancée, who did a very good job.

I hope they do. There’s still a lot that they can do with the character. Plus, with both

Spoiler

Sloan and Nicole leaving, there’s no one to pair with EJ or Eric

Flashbacks must be how he pads out the script because he doesn’t know what else to write.

I will admit though, that yesterday was better than some of the garbage we’ve seen from Jamey, but it still wasn’t as good as Friday’s episode.

The episode was a short 36 min long. That's including all those flashbacks.

I liked Xander and Sarah’s scenes today. The relationship between Xander and his mother is a dynamic that should be explored. Not only because of what we already know about Xander being Victor’s son, but also because of what can be done with the character and how she and that relationship could drive story.

Also, has anybody noticed that there seems to be an emphasis on the relationship between mothers and sons a lot? Kate/Lucas, Tripp/Ava, Leo/Diana and now Xander and his mother.

I liked Chad and Steve’s scenes as well. Kayla’s anger towards Steve wanting to go to Montana made a lot of sense and I like that the show brought it up. Plus, Chad needs to be a part of this Montana adventure. And I hope that this all means that Clyde is finally gonna die. He’s like the Peter August of Days lol

Today was a whopping 35 min snooze for me. Don't care for any of stories featured today. This soap has a problem when the only story I enjoyed was Nicole's and it's pretty much finished.

When you got no writing talent, you do whatever you have to do get to an acceptable length 😂

I remember some of his episodes being as short as 32 minutes.

So very many flashbacks!!! I was ready at a moment's notice for an actor to break the 4th wall & announce, "Here comes Flashback #47."

My prediction almost came true.  I thought Ava would mistakenly kill Harris while shooting Clyde.  It could still happen, but it seems like if it was going to happen, it would've happened today.

I like that Sarah told Xander that she was searching for his mother.  She's a busy mom, and I don't know where she'll find the time.  But, this is one of those situations where soaps have characters keep information from each other for no particular reason.  So, I am glad that they avoided that trope.  I like Sarah and Xander, even though I felt like he had more chemistry with many of his former partners.

But, how was Steve planning to fly to Montana with a gun in his suitcase?  Don't they have TSA in their universe?  He's a PI, not a cop or an ISA agent, so I don't think he'd be able to travel with a weapon in his checked luggage.  I mean, he and Bo were Merchant Marines, so technically they're not even vets.

Do we predict that they'll pair Xander's Mom with either Eric or EJ?  The age difference would be remarkable.  I don't think Steve or John need a love triangle.  So, I wonder who she'll wind up with?
