At this point I am like 99 percent sure Sheila is in bad condition caged in some dungeon by Sugar's accomplice who is panicking and doesn't know what to do. Finn and Deacon will save her and Steffy will have to face the very much alive SHEILA. If it was done with a quality writing, I would love this type of film noir 1950s type of storyline. But it's done like a cartoon animation.

At least I hope this opens the door to Lauren vs Sheila clash fans have been waiting for decades.

I really don't want to go down this road again because we've covered it before. However, so many on this board insist on calling this a rape that I have to again voice opposition to that.

Yes, the story is horribly written. It is awful in every respect, and I can understand why people talk about consent, etc. However, I do not think it's fair to call this a rape without examining every step and every fact. I don't think any justice system would convict Zende of rape.

Luna put herself in Zende's bed. She was impaired BUT HE DID NOT KNOW THAT. We have to assume that he was also drinking. She willingly agreed to have sex. Did she know it was Zende? No, but that is irrelevant. ZENDE thought she was saying yes to him. She NEVER said no or tried to stop him.

When "Zende raped Luna" is mentioned on this board, someone who hadn't watched those scenes would think there was sexual assault. That is not what I saw and that is not what happened.

I  have nothing good to say about the writing on BOLD. Nothing. Bradley Bell is scum for writing those scenes and that scenario. Was anything about that story realistic? No. But it also wasn't rape.

I am beyond sympathetic to any victim of sexual assault/sexual violence, but to me it's beyond overboard to call this a rape. I don't think that word should be thrown around like that.

I don't expect to get any support here for my take, because this board seems to have passed judgment and then some. I'm sorry for opening this up again, but with the total mess this story is, I do not understand wanting to convict someone of rape and calling him a rapist.

Am I alone in the feeling that this 2024 the show feels lost... Like I don't really feel a sense of going somewhere. It's like I'm watching something that will not be even remembered five years from now. Like a complete dead period.

Is this all Bradley has to offer - stories about mints and toes?

Fair enough.. But as I know Bold and the beautiful they won’t call it rape either. But the way Zende behaved weeks ago gave me the impression that he knew what he was doing. Using a intoxicated girl. Yes she said yes etc.

But the way he even said to RJ to forgive her makes me think they don’t go the rape route either lol I haven’t read any spoilers yet.

To be fair Luna always looked like she is about to cry since she joined the show

I feel you. Hell even Wyatt‘s exit was so boring. He left and didn’t even really said bye to his brother and father and just had a scene with Luna/RJ and heading off.

addiction itself is always a great topic to cover on soaps but Bold and the beautiful‘s acting has been so dreadful for a while. RJ I can get behind and Luna. But Zende is always speaking his lines so weirdly and don’t get me started on Poppy lol

Without wanting to argue, you all know my POV, when someone ends up in your bed the way Luna did... It's not a normal reaction to just... Sorry for the more direct language - sexually penetrate them.

The normal reaction of a non rapist is to say Hey, what is going on. Why are you here in this bed and are you sure you want to be here? That's like a bare minimum. And the conversation Has to be even longer and more direct.

Maybe... Like... Make sure the person that you are about to sleep in the same bed with is coherent and knows where they are. At least.

Zende not knowing or caring to know what state Luna was in is not an excuse but even more big reason to call him a rapist.

This is an incredibly stupid and irresponsible thing to do to a woman or a girl.

Just because someone is lying in your bed smiling, doesn't give you the heads up to put your pee pee in.

Consent is something a real man, non rapist, non monster will Always validate with the partner and with himself.

Him drinking again is not an excuse - he is a man... He should know himself better to not initiate sex if he knows his drinking can impair judgement.

I am sorry. That's my two cents and I don't think it's too much to call this a rape.

It's 2024 and people have been jailed and are serving time for situations like this.

I don't want to argue. But as a rape victim I won't Not say my opinion.

This reminds me of that shaggy dog story about people in a bar, regulars, who had all told & heard the same jokes over & over so they assigned them numbers. Applied here, it would be to storylines not jokes. At this point someone would call out "Number 47!" and everyone would recall mentally what everyone's stance was on this storyline.

Especially when that person had already rejected you multiple times, including earlier that night!

Well, it looks like RJ IS going with just being mad at Zende because he slept with his girl... what was the line today "you knew who you did that to" and he meant himself, not Luna!

    • Finland seemed such an odd choice for a location shoot. ATWT went to Greece and later Spain while GL had Tenerife and there were others in that timeframe. But Finland not being a known tourist destination or offering the tropical/sunny atmosphere usually associated with location shoots seems off brand. Maybe they were negotiating a deal with a tourist association and it fell through.
    • I was talking about 1986, but the glimpses of 1982 are about the same.
    • I skimmed some of the 1982 synopses; Steve was planning on an opening an office in Finland, and I think Jim went there as part of the preparation. That probably was a big issue; AW had already gone to San Diego that year, with Rachel/Steve/Mitch. And to upstate NY with Pete and Diana. I wonder if upstate was as expensive lol  AW in 1982 has always fascinated me, because of how messy it was
    • That makes sense. What a messy time for the show. And any changes they made were mostly for the worse.
    • The transition from Neal to Adam was very abrupt, and to be honest my theory is that the character of Neal was designed so that we think he is super shady but then it turns out that he was on the side of good all along so Neal could have seamlessly become a hero of the BCPD with no need for Adam. I don't know whether Robert Lupone was hired on a short contract or if he was fired from a longer-term contract because they decided they wanted someone who was more of a leading man type, but I can imagine a scenario where Charles Grant did both the undercover Egyptian treasure/flirt with Victoria and the straighter-arrow day to day police investigation. But in my imagined scenario the MJ prostitution plotline probably doesn't exist and instead he probably continues a relationship with Victoria. The story seems very odd to me. I assume that David Canary would have been included only because a plotline where Steve is going to Finland in which only Rachel is seen in actual Finland seems unlikely. The synopses explicitly mention that Alice can't go with Steve but would whoever was playing Alice at that time have had the kind of clout to get the remote cancelled? It also strikes me as unlikely that production would have approved the expensive location shoot and *then* cancelled it only because of jealousy. It seems more likely that they rejected it because of the expense but then the jealousy part got added to the gossip speculatively, possibly because while it was being worked out they justified not including more castmembers because of the expense.
    • My comment has nothing to do with cast resentment, but does relate to the Finland location shoot: It may be a coincidence, but Jim Matthews died in Finland in 1982.  Hugh Marlowe's final episode was in April 1982, but the character probably didn't die untll May or June. (I'm unable to find the character's date of death, only the date of Marlowe's final episode). SInce Jim and Rachel had very little interaction after around 1975, it is unlikely Jim's death in Finland had any connection to Rachel's potential visit, but the choice to have Jim die in that location at that time is a head-scratcher.  I'm sure the writers sent Jim on an extended trip (and off-screen) because of Marlowe's illness.  But Finland seems like a strange choice considering the (then) recently cancelled location shoot.
    • I totally understand your sloths concern about it and I agree with you. Let’s hope the show plays it’s cards right.    Further comments about the last few episodes: - I liked that one of the attendees was filming the scene. That’s realistic. I wonder if the writers will follow up with that.  - Martin and Smitty trying to drag Leslie out was very heteronormative, so perfectly in line with them two as characters lol.    As for the future: it’s obvious the Duprees will come to accept Eva one way or another, but the rivalry with Kay should be here for the long term   On the topic of acting: the only bad actors I’m seeing are Ted and Derek. Tomas hasn’t proven to be either good or bad, so far, but he’s certainly mediocre and uncharismatic. He sucks the energy out of the scenes and I don’t see any couple of women ever vying for him.
    • I’m trying to think which actors VW were working with at the time, and none of them had been there for a while. Even like Mac and Ada didn’t have that big of a part in Rachel’s storyline.  And Jamie was involved with all that movie stuff.
    • Brooke did ads before ATWT too. That probably helped get her the job. After ATWT she seemed to branch more into hosting, along with ads.  I think I saw Kelley in an ad or two, but you're right she wasn't on as much.
    •   Thanks for sharing these. I wonder if Charles might have been in the running for Adam. I know Preacher was a bit of a bad boy at times on EON, but Neal seemed to be a step down, and Robert Lupone had played a similar part on AMC. Given the huge cast turnover at this point I wonder who thought they had been there long enough to go.  Laura Malone/Chris Rich would get a remote within the next year.
