Kind of hope it's in its own universe.

I honestly keep going back and forth with the idea of the 3 soaps being in the same universe. BTG, just from the promo, is far superior to what B&B and Y&R has been throwing at us viewers for years. I am definitely on the fence.

I did some screenshots of memorable moments that I liked from the trailer. Thanks for @te. for providing a link to the trailer, since I can't open the link from Germany.

I think they'll keep crossovers in their back pocket for special events or if they need a ratings boost. I could see Devon trying to buy Anita's catalogue, for example. That would be organic.

Thank You very much for this! Nor this nor the first promo are available for watching her in Brazil!

This Looks Fantastic! Much better than most stuff supposed to come out around her this year! With the Exception of the Telenovela HBO is Lauching tomorrow

I think that's what MVJ is doing there with BTG.  She's saying, in effect, that white folks do not own the rights or the patent to being messy.  As long as you've got money, you've got problems!

Now, would I have developed BTG in the same way?  No, I wouldn't've, because I was practically weaned on Douglas Marland and Agnes Nixon's storytelling; so, I like to follow stories about different socioeconomic classes.

But I respect what MVJ is attempting to do, I think it's long past time for someone to do it, and I wish her nothing but the best.  (Follow that rainbow, 'Chele!)

Actually, it’s more like, “if you’ve got money, you’ve still got problems — just like the rest of us.”

i, too, prefer marland’s and nixon’s storytelling style  to the over-the-top glitz and glam of the uber rich — white or black — behaving badly.

but, i do hope the show does well. and, since i will watch tamara tunie in anything, i’ll be tuning in, as well.

My interest is based on multiple factors but she is the single one biggest one!!! And, both Marland & Nixon are on my list of favorite writers, which numbers to 15!

Black women have been watching and supporting soaps with rich white people behaving badly for generations with little to no acknowledgement or regard from said soaps. Now they’re hopefully going to see people who look like them doing the same things on a soap that was primarily created with them in mind.

That's a dam* fine thumbnail of what BTG is all about.

Also, I think that Andre's background might've been somewhat changed. That woman ran off the road might probably be his mother with his (and possibly Bill's) father's whereabouts unknown. This might mean that Andre isn't rich but relies on photography (and maybe something shady) to live his life of sophistication as also described as his character.

Here you go again. Not surprised.

I think it's true, but this is going to be a show I want to watch. Count on it. Remember, ratchet sells, for better or worse.

I don't see anything that resembles ratchetness from what we've seen so far. Yes, everyone is entitled to their opinions, but as MVJ so eloquently expressed, she likes messy and that is far cry from being ratchet IMO.

Exactly! She's bringing us what White characters have been shown to have since soaps began, but now we're getting it from the perspective of Black characters, and I love it!

We're most definitely on the same wavelength 😊😊😊
