So, it's not a funeral they're gathered it (as some assumed) nor a gala (as I suspected), it's the wedding reception.

I'm assuming for one of the girls' kids?

It looks great and gives more context to everything. On a shallow note - I do love the sets. The one thing I can critique is that they could work a bit on the lightning, but it's a bit like looking a gift horse in the mouth.

For those of you who can't view it on CBS YouTube (stupid country restrictions, boo!), I uploaded it here: https://www.mediafire.com/file/bgiwa7st1anaxli/Beyond+the+Gates+-+NEW+DAYTIME+DRAMA+SERIES+PREMIERES+MONDAY+FEBRUARY+24+720.mp4/file

I suddenly feel so much better and it looks loaded with suspense. I'll say it again, not our mother's and grandmother's soap.

Messy sister relationships are like the bread and butter of soaps! I hope they push for this more.

Really? Because nothing about it screams "ratchet"?

It does seem kind of ratchet, but I have to backtrack and say, ratchet sells. Silly me!

I checked out Justin Hartley's newer show Tracker but it's not half the quality that ThisIsUs was.

"Tracker" is pretty much what you'd expect by now from CBS: a safe-as-milk procedural, featuring a lead who is amiable enough, several quirky supporting actors, a backstory that can be woven in and out of episodes and that you don't need a chart to track of; and it's all presented with a conservative, jingoistic slant in order to appease the network's older (white) audience, who hates to watch anything that's too taxing or upsetting while they snooze on their sectionals that they purchased online at Wayfair.

(Honestly, CBS produces shows for folks who've yet to move on from 9/11.)

Imagine if LOL's Meg and Vanessa had fought over Paul Raven, and Ben (a.k.a. "Beanie") had been Paul Raven's son!

Love of Life has so few surviving episodes from the 50s, but every time you tune into them you know what you're getting with Meg and Van's relationship even if they don't share a scene. This is the sort of recognisable I think the show needs. I guess my point of view that I hope they delve into it is coloured by the fact I just watched Sydney's first two episodes on Melrose Place, but sibling rivalry is just great soap fodder. I want it to absolutely fester in the background between them.

I have watched the promo like 20x's and I find something new to get excited about. OMG, this is exactly what the soap community needed. February 24th can't get here soon enough.

For some reason it says not available in your country (Germany) and even the browser ad-on vpn doesn't unblock it. I'll have to look around to see if it's online on some other platform.

THANK YOU! I was just looking for something like this! I couldn't see it. I'm going to download now!

Just another few thoughts about the trailer - we're clearly joining in with the break down of one marriage (Karla Moselys' character) and the supposed beginning of another marriage, which is a very clever way to intertwine it.

I'll admit that the "purse line" storyline that will totally change her life might be the one that I will rag endlessly on about but all soaps will have that lmao. Sort of indifferent towards the whole "somebody wants to kill you" bit, but I do get the impression that the other Dupree sister might be a meddler, which is always fun.

Video Promo #2 Extended Version is now my new favorite by 4000%! And, ...

"I am done being disrespected. DONE." - BTG

"It warms my heart to see this beautiful family. I am so proud of each & every one of you." -  BTG

"So much for 'stop by for a cup of coffee.'" - BTG

"You need to remember who you are -- a Dupree woman. Find your inner strength." - BTG

"I fell in love with an inconvenient man."

"Now you have to deal with the inconvenient consequences." - BTG
