I haven’t watched CBS Sunday Morning in years but I will be planted at the tv for this segment

Same. Used to watch it with my mother in this same house a lot of mornings in the Charles Kuralt days and now they get up later lol. Setting the alarm!

I love what Tamara Tunie says about the first episode! It sounds like it starts with a bang, which my favorite way to debut a soap.

I am praying - PRAYING - that Michele Val Jean will convince her good friend, Patrick Mulcahey, to join the writing staff, if she hasn't already.  Mulcahey is one white writer whom I trust to write for people of color with dignity.

Agreed. Plus, he has always said one of his favorite characters to write for was Gilly on Guiding Light. And during his time on GL (along Nancy Curlee), the Grants and Speakes thrived.

I wonder if Tamara Tunie played a role in the casting of Clifton Davis. I noticed they both co-chaired The International Black Theatre Festival that took place last summer, before any casting was ever announced for BTG.

I believe that Patrick was Lead writer on B&B for Maya's story including bringing her whole family into it. MVJ contributed to that writing.

Alan, I have not seen that. What did Tamara say? If you don't mind repeating it?

Oof, I thought I had the Sunday Morning stream going on CBS.com. I guess I'll go turn on the actual TV.

I dunno why both my TV and my live feed are like 2 mins behind. Jane Pauley is still running down the upcoming segments lol.
