In a way... it died all those years ago. It's like a bad nightmare ever since. Bell is well past his expiration date as a writer. He should be retiring and giving a new writer a chance to re-invent Bold.

I can’t be bothered to be more articulate than this (or type up my full thoughts) except to say that segment was incredible and here are my immediate reactions shared with a friend (!):

I really hope this is a return to form for the genre. Haven’t been this excited about daytime in maybe 20 years (which is a crazy thing to type out).

Ha, it really is! I just can’t believe daytime hasn’t truly excited me since around 2004 when we had Bianca’s baby switch, Sheffer’s ATWT and when Y&R was still watchable. That’s the last time it was telling stories I felt I needed to watch.

And to watch two black women talk about the new show they created and their love for the genre…just means so much to the little black boy who only loves daytime because of a black woman (miss you ma). These accomplished black women spearheading this new show after 20 something years of being aware that black viewers have been undervalued and underrepresented, despite being a well known, significant and stable part of the audience, it’s just incredible that we’re here.

Don’t get me started on how Tamara Tunie, Daphnée Duplaix and Karla Mose, who are all talented and accomplished actresses done so dirty by daytime…wasted, disrespected and dismissed while lessers got to shine.

Can’t wait to see the new promo.

It looked like everyone was in all black and I swear some of the women were wearing those church lady hats! But idk!

But sequins?! For a funeral?! I don't think so. It felt like a gala of some kind, as I am sure those hats are not church-specified. At my last job, several Black women would always come in looking for fascinators and bigger hats for special occasions.

Sorry, but this does not look like a funeral. At all. It's giving black tie/gala/celebrations for a special occasion. Maybe the engagement party for the upcoming wedding?
