It's also obvious that the Haley Pullos legal trouble really threw a huge wrench into this whole s/l. In the beginning they just thought they needed a recast Molly for a short time while HP recovered from what they thought was just a car accident injury. When THAT all blew up, the recasting musical chairs started for Molly.

Who was recast first? Molly or Kristina? Seemed like both new actresses showed up on screen at the same time. Which also makes me wonder if the original Molly had stayed, would they have recast Kristina at all. Or was Mansi already on their radar by then and being signed to a contract first?

Are we then assuming that Brooke Anne Smith’s Molly being on crutches was fallout from HP’s assertion that she was in a “minor” accident?  Because Holiday Mia Kriegel could have continued in that capacity and acted on crutches.

I still say they did LA wrong outside of the Pullos fiasco.  I’m not saying KM isn’t a strong Kristina, I just haven’t seen anything that LA couldn’t handle, yet.

LA was recast before HP's legal problems.

Same in regards to LA.  This is nothing she couldn't play well.

BAS Molly was written to be in the cast because HP did break her leg/had a leg injury.  Whatever HP told GH/Frank, I think it was assumed she'd be back shortly and her injuries would be written in.

Yeah, she told him she had injuries. & had been in an accident.

She just didn't tell him anything about BAC, DUI, being charged with anything at all, hit and run, wrong way on the highway, Jaws of Life, etc. I cannot fathom that she didn't think it would come out!

He found out when we all did 3 weeks later when TMZ broke the story. So TempMolly never should have been hired. Instead MT should have been looking for a permanent replacement from the get-go.

Yes, it seemed to be very mishandled.  If HP was honest with GH and immediately checked into treatment perhaps she would have been given more grace.  A sincere apology and her taking accountability would have gone a long way.  I don't know why her parents and people around her weren't advising her to make better choices post accident.  It put GH in a very big bind when they thought it was a temporary recast only.

Speaking of TMZ, they have turned into a somewhat reliable news source for the entertainment industry reportings. I don't go there much, but they usually are the first to report the truths. In fact, they just reported that Steve Burton has finalized his divorce from his longtime wife (23 years) and established child support payments ($12.5 K per month).

I think I knew this, but he filed for divorce after his wife turned up pregnant again and he said the baby wasn't his. Oops!

Regardless, both People and Us Weekly have reported the same with their own obtaining of the court documents, and People reported before TMZ did.

Kristina was recast first and the intention was to always recast the role, regardless of what happened to Haley Pullos. Both Kate Mansi and Holiday Mia Kriegel started on the same day.

I think SBu is a jerk for a variety of reasons, but not because of this.  Sheree decided to announce she was pregnant.  People were congratulating him on the new baby.  He was forced to clarify.  The obvious thing would have been to announce their separation and then announce her pregnancy.   I honestly don't know how else he could have handled it.  Ideally, the two of them would have come up with a game plan together for the public and their children, but this doesn't seem like the most cordial of divorces lol.

Lol!  I try.  The MLM and anti-vax stuff we can point directly at Steve and find offensive.  This situation is just awkward and embarrassing.  I don't have enough info to blame Steve for it.  Tbh, I think the ex-wife comes off worse, but the circumstances are so vague no one may be at fault here.  Anyway, this has nothing to do with current GH so I'll move on.

    • Ohh, interesting. I instantly gravitated towards her in that episode. Of course I'm already hooked and want to know why she was trying to poison that older lady, but then how did the older lady know to switch the mugs so Susan drank her own poison...  but I have too many timelines I'm watching right now haha.  Oh, Bolger is definitely hot. I didn't realize he was on GL haha. I knew him from OLTL and other primetime stuff.
    • This is a effin shame. Eff Trump and eff the bastards that enable him.
    • I 100% agree but I think this is due to how the show is structured. It's a one family show which means there are no people in her age range that could be used as friends or contemporaries of her. The show definitely needs a second main family. I am glad someone finally said this. Especially now that the cast is gelling in their roles, he stands out like a sore thumb. No energy, no chemistry with anybody. He is just there.  I thought that was odd as well! The previous scene would've worked better as a tag for the credits.
    • That's the one and only Carrie Nye (Mrs. Dick Cavett) as Susan Piper, a deadly realtor. I don't want to spoil a lot if you ever want to see those episodes. She returns as another character in 2003. I think Grant has aged well and he always did a good job at being ripped without going too far, but he was never entirely my cup of tea either. I did think John Bolger was hot.
    • Totally agree. KKL looks great! It makes the Widge groveling so bizarre. Brooke needs to leave FC and with $B's/Liam's funding launch a rival fashion house with Hope, Rick, Katie and a secret designer. The best scenario is that Rick has been absent because he's been with very much alive C2, who is revealed on the runway as the secret designer. It'll never happen because B&B is comfortable just focusing on FC and the Forresters Marones v. Logans. But it'd been so much more interesting if the Spencers/Logans united.

    • Haha that scarf thing did go on a bit too long, very odd. And what a young Rick!  I know this is an unpopular opinion, but I just never got the physical appeal of Grant Aleksander, but he's definitely a great actor. Who is the older lady around the 8:30 mark, and also ends the episode, alone and in pain? She seems like a really interesting character. I love the smoky voice and sultry, snaky vibe she seems to have.
    • I can't remember exactly but I think she lives in or is part of the cottage story with Carrie. Carrie poisons her in this episode.  I forgot Teresa was on the show. (I see that AI is insisting she wasn't - well they're wrong) Poor Maeve. I can how even she had her limits.
    • It pisses me off that the other Duprees are making this incident all about them as well. They are playing a family of victims, acting as if Ted cheated on all of them. They should be supportive, but not like this. I have a family that makes anything that happens to me personally all about them, and seeing the same thing on TV is rage-inducing.
    • There are the makings of good Emmy reels in these past couple of episodes, but the industry is still going to favor even the most mediocre stories and performances on the older soaps. And with the pressure from the government over race I can see the academy shutting out Beyond The Gates to avoid criticism from the administration and the far right media.
