Ron could have changed the entire Leo/Dmitri/Gwen narrative if Leo or Dmitri just let Gwen in on the plan.  Instead of making Leo/Dmitri evil the show could have Gwen agree to the marriage and wacky hijinks and schemes would ensue.  It could have been a fun side story.  I personally don't think I would have liked it much, but at least it saves Dmitri and Leo from character destruction and gives Gwen something more lighthearted to do.  There was just a less ugly way to tell this story if we had to tell it.

Welcome to the board @BeeLol!

Two random questions running through my brain this morning

  1. Does Melinda know that Li is dead?
  2. Is Gwen in Alamania and has she interacted with Megan?
    1. Megan told Rolf that the Dimitri failed to get his inheritance from the marriage, and Gwen left to get her part of the inheritance, so I wonder if they met?

Remember that very unfunny scene where Leo impersonated Gwen so that the Von Leuschner attorney would think they were married?  Didn't the lawyer see through their scam and told Dimitri that he felt Dimitri's love for Leo (barf), but he had to stay married for a year, and he would check back in later, then give him his money?

  1. So, how does Megan know that Dimitri failed to get the inheritance (because he hasn't actually failed yet)?
  2. And I recall the flashback of how Gwen found out Dimitri was cheating, but was Kristen the one to tell her about the inheritance?

I ask all of this because I assume Gwen's return will coincide with the conclusion of Dimitri's story (there's been no goodbye post from PP on social media, a good clue that he'll pop up again).

The lawyer turned out to be gay & was persuaded that they had a real love & granted him his inheritance & put into place his getting the first installment & other installments were to follow. We the audience don't have any knowledge about any subsequent installments.

Kristen told Gwen that Dimitri was cheating with Leo & Gwen claimed that she already knew. We the audience do not know if Gwen was being truthful or not about already knowing. But, she did tell Kristen of things that happened & alleged that this & that caused her to first be suspicious & then to know.

Oh, goodness, no, he's been here forever & has spent untold amounts of burned calories dogging my posts & trying to make my life miserable. He very very frequently posts something, anything that puts him in a position of being 2% against 98%. If most of the people in a given thread were asserting a blue sky he'd appear out of nowhere & post 3 lines where he made it clear that any idiot could see that the sky is kelly green.

I've been watching soaps for forty years, I can tolerate flawed human beings who make one awful decision after another (some of my favorite characters). My issue with Leo is the trying too hard to be clever dialogue. If I want to roll my eyes at a gay man's failed witticisms, I'll go to a drag show. I'd like to see a gay heavy written like Xander for instance.

Please send me to the Leo fan posts-I missed them.  But go wild with your Leo love.  I am just curious if you thought your post was slightly baiting or did you just not have time to read this entire thread?   I just tend to be pretty suspect of people who come in and out of this board with extremely contrary opinions.  No harm, no foul.  I am not looking for a silly fight over Leo.  Not worth my time.

An interesting view, Pollyanna!

Indeed! they missed the car on making Leo likeable after the Diana debacle back in 2019 with zero change in him! By now, a better writer would've written Leo off into the sunset, i would send both him and Dimitri to prison! Better yet, A brazilian Prison so they couldn't be together! (Here if you have a diploma you are treated to a solo cell while the rest mingles together!)

    • Seems like the Dobsons were aiming for a Joe/Sara/Justin triangle or, having decided that Joe would be killed off, Justin would be waiting in the wings. But that never came to pass and I don't think there was much reference to Justin/Sara as time went on.That was something that could have been used later on but Doug Marland may not have known or cared. Also, when the show went to an hour they could add a lot of characters and not rely on the stalwarts, hence Jackie/Alan/Elizabeth. And after Leslie died, Mike went into Dad mode with Hope. Hope/Ben never took off and Hope was replaced and then dropped and Ben moved on to Eve, whose romance with Tim fizzled and Jordan Clarke left (by choice?)

    • Would anyone have any of these Y&R episodes they could add to the vault? It would be very much appreciated. • When I was a kid, I would watch DOOL with my mom. I remember Denise as Susan so well. And later, of course, on GH. How sad to hear she has passed. RIP.
    • I have to dig that scene up on YT. I'm glad they gave them some kind of happy ending, even if it was really late. Interesting! I remember Justin and Sarah being involved, but I either forgot or never caught their backstory. The girl with money and social position of course turns out to be Jackie. He sort of did to Sarah what Vanessa did to his brother! I do remember Justin started out as not the greatest guy. Kind of a horn dog. It's only when Ross comes on that he becomes the "good" brother. I only have some vague memories of Ben and Hope, mostly of when they were in a positive relationship. He certainly changed over time. "Chill" would be the way I would describe Ben (along with "handsome but kind of a yawn") for most of his time on GL, so hearing he once had a violent temper is very surprising.
    • Yes. That's called good writing.
    • interesting idea.  That makes sense, as MVJ seems to have set up each character development (traits) for future plot developments.
    • I really enjoyed today's episode. It showcased a lot of the other cast and I saw hints of storyline potential (Smitty & Bill). Martin definitely has some anger issues and I recall him being overly scared about protecting his family and having all the doors locked, coming out of one of his "dreams". There's obviously a lot going on there and I can't wait to find out more. I'm thinking June is going to be more than just the issue story of the week. I think she just might be related to one or more of our main characters. As for Tomas, yes, Alex Alegria is not the strongest actor, but he's pretty to look at and he emotes something. I'm just not sure what that something is yet.
    • No. Absolutely No. I don't know who this is... since it's just some random Twitter quote... But NO. The only parallel between OG Caroline's leukemia and Liam's tumor... is that they are both having cancer. That's it. Other than that... I see absolutely no similarities.  Caroline hid her sickness almost till the last moment. She was also giving the viewers signs that she is not well for days if not weeks before the diagnosis. It was not like Liam... falling down and hitting his head on a table and bam he has a tumor. Caroline's storyline broke our hearts, because of her attempt to live out the rest of her days with dignity and grace. It was written slowly and with care. What we are seeing right now with Liam is the complete opposite. It's begging the viewers for empathy and cheap tears. It's so in your face and trashy... I can't believe they are using cancer for something like this. Bradley Bell should never do terminal stuff again in his stories. It's borderline offensive to people who actually have lost relatives to cancer. To me it is.
