The TVLine article stated DVD's character will have amnesia, so maybe Tommy Horton isn't so far off the beaten path. Or maybe, since he got the job through Drake Hogestyn, he'll end up being another John Black parent. Hell, maybe both ideas put together. Tommy Horton is John Black's father, finally breaking apart Shawn and Belle forever!

A last goodbye for Tommy via DVD is such a perfect idea, that you know the writers at Days have no way of actually conceiving it. Especially with John Lupton gone, it would be a great way to close-out that generation of Hortons. (I know Marie and Maree Cheatham are alive, but let's be serious about the likelihood of EVER seeing her again onscreen).

I know fans are so fast call for more decedents of core families, as am I, but Horton frankly has a critical mass of Hortons right now, making romance stories and potential couples so hard to navigate! Paired with the fact that the emerging generation of characters are steeped in Horton blood (Chad/Abby's kids, Will/Gaby's kids, Shawn's kids with Belle and Jan, Lucas/Sami's kids) it would make sense to invest some other family lines in Salem. Salem is almost as incestious as LA is for Forresters (though nothing will ever beat the Ridge/Bridget sibling romance, eek).

Colton said he had a story coming up featuring his family, the Donovan's. He didn't say who or if anyone was returning.
