I know it's unfortunate that so many 60's/70's episodes of OLTL, don't exist anymore (or so we are told), but I've always been a little surprise we don't have at least more late 70's/80's episodes. I mean If GH can have almost entire playlists of 1980-1983 for example, you would think OLTL and AMC would too, but like Y&R even those are just scattered dates.

Oh my God! Thank you! I love this - she must have gone as Catwoman then!

I did hear on a recent podcast that Judith Light's mother videotaped her entire time on "One Life to Live", and Judith said something to the effect of "We have to do something with those tapes"... I was like, PLEASE convert them and put them on YouTube! That whole time she was on Llanview was a real community, and everyone had a great story.

Yes, I agree and for years I have been saying the same thing in regards to P&G soaps like As The World Turns. I once worked as a liaison to an archive for a performance art institution and I am still flabbergasted when I hear that any company neglects their archive. It’s time consuming sure, but so worthwhile.

Remind me of the timeline.

Was the Masquerade Party when Olympia was revealed?  Or was this their engagement and Olympia was revealed at the wedding?  I was confused because in a scene released a few weeks ago I first saw that Asa and Samantha's wedding reception happened at LLanfair, with Dorian hosting, so I wondered how Olympia got over there?

Because I recall the wedding going on for weeks, and I recall that's when Bo found out that he wasn't Asa's son.

Speaking of JL's family keeping archives, as we've noted before Ellen Holly has claimed to have a number of her key/early episodes via local affiliates - maybe as kinescopes, I'm not sure.

I'm willing to bet if they have some, a lot of other actors do, across many shows.

Asa proposed to Samantha, and they had a June wedding circa 1981. All the while, Olympia was being kept prisoner in a mansion (I think in South Hampton) and was watched by Asa's nephew Rafe and Asa's right hand man Chuck. Somehow Olympia broke free and with a gun, she tried to enter the church Asa and Samantha were being married at, and shoot Asa at the alter. But Chuck and Rafe were on it and stopped Olympia and smuggled her out of the church back to South Hampton. I think in September/October Olympia burned down the South Hampton mansion she was being kept as part of her escape (after several other escape attempts went awry). Olympia hid out at Llanfair in the abandoned west wing. There, Olympia made friends with a black cat on the property; she also stole Dorian's handgun for protection. At Llanfair, Olympia was aware of certain goings on via spying on Dorian. So when Dorian received an invite to Asa and Sam's costume ball, Olympia planned to sabotage it. Olympia, managed to get a copy of Samantha's dress by calling the designer and telling them she was Samantha's maid and she had burned the original dress "ironing". By December, Olympia was ready with her revenge against the newlyweds Asa and Samantha, and planned to kill them both at the masquerade party - I think the party was thrown as more of a housewarming for the couple's new "Moorcliff" mansion (a neighboring estate of Llanfair). Olympia, at the ball, was revealed to Llanview society during the unmasking. Prior to the unmasking she had locked Samantha in a walk-in cooler, so she could take advantage of Samantha's "absence". After her reveal, Olympia told either Bo or Pat directly that Bo was not a Buchanan, but a son of ranch hand Yancy Ralston.  The only thing that played out during the party that I don't know how it effected the plans was the jewelry heist arranged by the four hired maids at the party (the maids who worked at the Sunrise Motel Cassie was staying at when she first came to town).

    • Jill Farren Phelps was always very skilled at saying what she meant onscreen in the bluntest way possible, like whenever she wanted fans to support one character vs. the other (hence Megan McTavish groaning about having to write Kale Browne's Sam Rappaport into three days a week at OLTL). Perhaps you should consider doing the same. Historically your intent is always far more obvious than your efforts at coy embroidery anyway. You believe people are dismissing Phelps' accomplishments, and suggest misogyny and fan blinders allow people to too easily pigeonhole and dismiss her skill set. I think we all understand her varied skill set. We're saying it's not enough to make up for her deficiencies as a storyteller and creative. JFP was undoubtedly a skilled technical producer. As a solo storyteller, and de facto HW, she was a repeat and predictable failure. She was not the first or last EP (male or female) to think she was a writer. If you want us to stop taking your behavior personally when you suggest misogyny is at play in board opinions of JFP, perhaps you should consider spending the next 10+ years here not acting like you're the only one who gets it.

Melissa was here today & we went to Michael's Crafts & Ofc Depot. In Michael's there were two beautiful LITTLE girls who kept staring at me, so I gave them a littel wave & very quietly said HI & then did back. I told Melissa they were staring at me. She smiled & said "Purple. A lot of little girls love purple & you forget but you have purple hair. Seeing you their whole imaginations are transformed! Thinking "That lady has purple hair. That means I can have purple hair! They had no clue before seeing you that it was possible." I just laughed & laughed.
    • This opening scene is hilarious...it's like someone wrote out the script for Philip with one hand. And Rick...sniffing a scarf over and over. And in their next scene they are still sniffing the [!@#$%^&*] scarf as the camera stays all over Philip's bare chest and armpits as he keeps working out. Insane stuff.

Bay City better be ready, because I'm back!   At Vicky's apartment she is once again drowning in doubts and jealousy. Deep down she realizes that her dream wedding will be a farce and nothing can change that. Bridget tries to calm her down, but the heroine is determined to suffer. She is not hearing any positive thoughts. She doesn't believe Jamie will marry her. At the Cory Publishing building another farce is in process. Iris, once again pretending to be the angel of love and sisterhood... is telling Mac and Rachel some wonderful news. When Iris has good news, you really need to look out for yourself. That's when things are bad. So what are the news? Miss Devil has put Amanda up for an award! Mac is smiling from ear to ear, and Rachel is suspicious. Maybe that's the effect Iris is looking for. To once again accent on the fact that Rachel doubts and criticizes her daughter. Iris will do anything to destabilize their relationship. She is like a cancer. Back to Vicky! Jamie is at the door. Looking like a sad puppy, he has come with a surprise. No, he is not gonna leave her and her unborn... Not yet. He has bought her earrings. Sad face. How nice. NOT. Victoria, of course... manages to break one of them the moment she touches it. Bad premonition maybe? She was back in hysterics. It's not easy to trap a man into marriage. Then you have to live with someone that didn't want you in the first place.  We were introduced to a new character (to me at least she is new) - Cass's sister - Stacey. She is giving me "hidden skeletons in the closet"-vibes. Love a girl like that. Stunning actress. I like her. The highlight of the episode was the strange and creepy reveal of Evan the escort... hugging someone named Janice's grave. I remember she had an issue with Rachel... and Rachel killed her in self defense I think... It was hinted in prior episodes, but I lack the context and story. I just know that everyone at the Frame house was mad that Rachel killed the bish. But I also got the impression that this Janice was sick in the head. So Evan is now talking to her grave and telling her he is going to ruin Rachel's life basically. Oh, Evan... I liked you better as a sexy gigolo.  Overall - 10/10 - how can I rate it lower when I haven't watched in months!!!

    • Once again, Marlena and Kayla were used very effectively and I couldn’t be happier.  Marlena counseling Johnny and then Chanel was the best part of today. They’re really delving into the human emotion of this storyline and I think that’s a good thing. It feels so much mature than it was before. EJ’s fear about what could happen to Johnny if he doesn’t let go of his anger could lead to some really good storylines in the future.  I also really appreciate the way that Paula/Jeanne are mixing it up and having different characters interact with each other. It was nice to see Shawn and Johnny remember that they’re cousins and share a scene together. I liked the parallel that was drawn between the two of them, and what’s going on with their fathers. I did have mixed feelings about everything with Cat though. I enjoyed Chanel warning her about EJ, mostly because it played into the way that she was written today. But I wasn’t the biggest fan of the Chad/EJ scenes. The two of them discussing Chad’s potential feelings for Cat didn’t really keep my interest.  But above all, I feel that everyone is being used more effectively and that we’re getting a better understanding of everyone as well. And that was exactly what Days needed.
    • It's a wild story for sure, especially the final conclusion (and fireworks offcamera, like Victoria Wyndham tearing into Michael Logan).

    • I did some research and the story wrapped up with Eric,a caretaker responsible for Georgina's death who then  tried to do away with Laurie but a vision of Georgina spooked him and he smashed into a mirror, dying of glass wounds. So there was a supernatural element. I wonder if the Brody character in the credits was Eric Brody?
