Greg Vaughan makes me swoon like no other soap actor.  And I like that the character Eric is a nice guy.  Imperfect, flawed, and a bonus is that he catches himself when he starts to be judgy.  Self-aware.

The expressions in his eyes and smile are what are what I find hot. I just melt!

Right now, for me ...
Eric Brady >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> >>>>>>>>>>>>>> >>>>>>>>>>>>> >>>>>>>>>>> >>>>>>>>>>>> the rest of the show.

(I love Allie with Chanel, but I got no interest in watching them until after the possession crap is done.)

I also enjoyed Greg Vaughan's character on Queen Sugar.  Well every single actor on that show is outstanding but I thought he kept up fairly well and I enjoyed GV's character Calvin during his time with Rutina's Nova.  I liked how  his character Calvin ended up acknowledging his own hypocrisy and did the right thing.
(I won't elaborate so as to not spoil things for anyone who missed recent seasons of Queen Sugar - it's important to watch his scenes unspoiled, because of how that affects things).

I like Eric/GV/JA a lot, but Eric has always been the forgotten twin lol.  The show spent so much time on Sami that Eric basically had to be a nice guy and the show really missed out by not bringing him on earlier when they brought AS on. They wasted JA his entire run with pointless pairings (you know Nicole/Eric Version 1 was lame) and no real story.  With GV, the show has tried a lot with him, but the priest stuff is a little weird for someone from a family that's not overtly religious (at least his parents aren't).  Eric is bland, but I prefer him to both Rafe and Brady.   GV is hot, has charisma, and good interaction with his co-stars.  He's not going to win any acting awards, but he fills a role on the show that I like.

I'm glad Chad called out Sonny on how over obsessive he's being and he should focus more on Will. I get all things Leo did to Sonny, but I'm assuming there's something else behind this new found obsessive behavior.

This was the second time now that Sonny was grossed out by Chad and Abby kissing. Then that joke from Abby about "Don't have a three-way." More and more I'm convinced they are going to hook up Sonny and Chad down the road.

I know this is never going to happen for real, but oh do I love me some Leo and Xander!

For opposite-gender twins, I loved Brenda and Brandon on the original Beverly Hills 90210.  I wish DAYS had given Sami and Eric that type of relationship.  We were robbed of that because teen Sami was brought to Salem while teen Eric was left in Colorado.

DAYS still could have given viewers the Sami/Eric twins with some type of adult twin-closeness, but the show never bothered.   I keep hoping every year that this will be rectified; but it's been nearly 30 years so I guess I should let that dream go.

Brenda/Brandon were really good.  I feel like Sami/Eric were close when JA was first cast.  I remember Eric saying he had a twin sense with Sami and Sami actually cut herself to appear like she was sad or in pain so Eric wouldn't guess she was lying about something.  It was always a missing thread to leave Eric in Colorado.  His entire family is imploding is Salem, but Eric's just living with his grandparents lol.  I don't think it would have been hard to find a teen actor to play Eric when AS was cast.  I wonder if JER just didn't care and didn't bother.

But you are right, I have never felt much twin-closeness between GV/AS nor do I think they look alike at all.

Interesting!  I missed most of the Jensen Ackles years, except for what I've seen in some historical Lumi and Ericole clips.  I do remember the Greta/ Garden of Eden nonsense.

I remember watching the OG Ericole scenes on youtube (back when you could do that) ... these were scenes of JA's Eric learning that underage Nicole had been forced by her father to be in porn videos, and how he found the warehouse and reported it and all the videos were destroyed.  (That storyline aired before the internet was commonplace, so back in those days, it was plausible that you could destroy physical videotapes and that would be the end of the video being circulated.)  JA was really good in those scenes.

But I haven't seen any old Eric/Sami clips.

JA's Eric was introduced right after JT's Roman was.  Carrie enlisted Eric to find out if Sami still had amnesia (she didn't) and was involved in exposing Sami at Sami/Austin's wedding.  He also had a mysterious past that he was running from in Colorado-which seem to imply he might be gay-but was something else entirely and overall not even important enough to recap lol.    He then worked with Sami to get Roman/Marlena back together for whatever reason they had.

Overall, GV has had much more story over the years as Eric.  It just has never been very coherent IMO.  Except for the Nicole romance, it's almost like two different characters.  JA's Eric was never overtly religious or showed any interest in priesthood, but he was a photographer which is a thread the show still carries.

I'm not liking this obsession Sonny has with Leo. Like Chad said why are you still here when Will isn't.

Jamey must've written the script because Leo is flaming today and calling Abigail a b!tch.

    • Where do you discover this crazy rumor??
    • Jill Farren Phelps was always very skilled at saying what she meant onscreen in the bluntest way possible, like whenever she wanted fans to support one character vs. the other (hence Megan McTavish groaning about having to write Kale Browne's Sam Rappaport into three days a week at OLTL). Perhaps you should consider doing the same. Historically your intent is always far more obvious than your efforts at coy embroidery anyway. You believe people are dismissing Phelps' accomplishments, and suggest misogyny and fan blinders allow people to too easily pigeonhole and dismiss her skill set. I think we all understand her varied skill set. We're saying it's not enough to make up for her deficiencies as a storyteller and creative. JFP was undoubtedly a skilled technical producer. As a solo storyteller, and de facto HW, she was a repeat and predictable failure. She was not the first or last EP (male or female) to think she was a writer. If you want us to stop taking your behavior personally when you suggest misogyny is at play in board opinions of JFP, perhaps you should consider spending the next 10+ years here not acting like you're the only one who gets it.

Melissa was here today & we went to Michael's Crafts & Ofc Depot. In Michael's there were two beautiful LITTLE girls who kept staring at me, so I gave them a littel wave & very quietly said HI & then did back. I told Melissa they were staring at me. She smiled & said "Purple. A lot of little girls love purple & you forget but you have purple hair. Seeing you their whole imaginations are transformed! Thinking "That lady has purple hair. That means I can have purple hair! They had no clue before seeing you that it was possible." I just laughed & laughed.
    • This opening scene is hilarious...it's like someone wrote out the script for Philip with one hand. And Rick...sniffing a scarf over and over. And in their next scene they are still sniffing the [!@#$%^&*] scarf as the camera stays all over Philip's bare chest and armpits as he keeps working out. Insane stuff.

Bay City better be ready, because I'm back!   At Vicky's apartment she is once again drowning in doubts and jealousy. Deep down she realizes that her dream wedding will be a farce and nothing can change that. Bridget tries to calm her down, but the heroine is determined to suffer. She is not hearing any positive thoughts. She doesn't believe Jamie will marry her. At the Cory Publishing building another farce is in process. Iris, once again pretending to be the angel of love and sisterhood... is telling Mac and Rachel some wonderful news. When Iris has good news, you really need to look out for yourself. That's when things are bad. So what are the news? Miss Devil has put Amanda up for an award! Mac is smiling from ear to ear, and Rachel is suspicious. Maybe that's the effect Iris is looking for. To once again accent on the fact that Rachel doubts and criticizes her daughter. Iris will do anything to destabilize their relationship. She is like a cancer. Back to Vicky! Jamie is at the door. Looking like a sad puppy, he has come with a surprise. No, he is not gonna leave her and her unborn... Not yet. He has bought her earrings. Sad face. How nice. NOT. Victoria, of course... manages to break one of them the moment she touches it. Bad premonition maybe? She was back in hysterics. It's not easy to trap a man into marriage. Then you have to live with someone that didn't want you in the first place.  We were introduced to a new character (to me at least she is new) - Cass's sister - Stacey. She is giving me "hidden skeletons in the closet"-vibes. Love a girl like that. Stunning actress. I like her. The highlight of the episode was the strange and creepy reveal of Evan the escort... hugging someone named Janice's grave. I remember she had an issue with Rachel... and Rachel killed her in self defense I think... It was hinted in prior episodes, but I lack the context and story. I just know that everyone at the Frame house was mad that Rachel killed the bish. But I also got the impression that this Janice was sick in the head. So Evan is now talking to her grave and telling her he is going to ruin Rachel's life basically. Oh, Evan... I liked you better as a sexy gigolo.  Overall - 10/10 - how can I rate it lower when I haven't watched in months!!!

    • Once again, Marlena and Kayla were used very effectively and I couldn’t be happier.  Marlena counseling Johnny and then Chanel was the best part of today. They’re really delving into the human emotion of this storyline and I think that’s a good thing. It feels so much mature than it was before. EJ’s fear about what could happen to Johnny if he doesn’t let go of his anger could lead to some really good storylines in the future.  I also really appreciate the way that Paula/Jeanne are mixing it up and having different characters interact with each other. It was nice to see Shawn and Johnny remember that they’re cousins and share a scene together. I liked the parallel that was drawn between the two of them, and what’s going on with their fathers. I did have mixed feelings about everything with Cat though. I enjoyed Chanel warning her about EJ, mostly because it played into the way that she was written today. But I wasn’t the biggest fan of the Chad/EJ scenes. The two of them discussing Chad’s potential feelings for Cat didn’t really keep my interest.  But above all, I feel that everyone is being used more effectively and that we’re getting a better understanding of everyone as well. And that was exactly what Days needed.
    • It's a wild story for sure, especially the final conclusion (and fireworks offcamera, like Victoria Wyndham tearing into Michael Logan).
