Y&R Ashland storyline
Condensed summary of several articles plus one Canadian recap:

Victor asks Nick to open Victoria's eyes about Ashland. Victor hopes Nick can convince her that Ashland has once again lied to her. Victor shares his plan with Adam.

Adam suggests that if Nick fails, they leak Ashland's deception to the press and let his downfall play out in the court of public opinion. Victor immediately shoots down Adam's idea to expose Ashland in that way - because Victor realizes that Adam would be using this as an opportunity to have Victoria publicly embarrassed.

We learn that Nate had decided on his own to secretly dig into Ashland's medical records, and here is what he learned: Nate looked at Ashland's chest X-ray after his heart attack - and there was no sign of the cancer on that X-ray. Also Ashland claimed he had chemo treatments at the hospital and Nate didn't find evidence of that. At Society, Nate informs Ashland of his discoveries. Ashland pretends to be shocked, and claims that Nate must have looked at the wrong records.  Nate can see right through Ashland and accuses Ashland of lying. Ashland then vows to destroy Nate's medical career if he shares Locke's private records, but Nate doesn't really care at this point. Sean Dominic says in SOD that Nate feels that Ashland must be stopped because Ashland is evil - and because Nate is concerned for Victoria's well-being.

After the Nate/Ashland confrontation: Nate provides Victor with what he learned from Ashland's medical records.

This story fall flat on a number of levels.

One of them is the 'tell don't show' method of storytelling.

If we saw Nate at the hospital checking the x rays etc it would build more suspense.

Nate meeting Ashland at Society (where else?) and telling what he found doesn't work for me.

Chance got a psychiatrist office set but they can't pull together an office for  Nate? (makes no sense)

my sister said she read some spoilers that Ridge and Paris' mom are gonna be getting close... so I'm wondering if we're gonna find out Paris' mom and Ridge have a past, and Paris is Ridge's daughter? I guess that would be a big twist...

Y&R: Wednesday 23 March
A dangerous trap is set for Jack.

Also Y&R for Wed. 23 March:
Julia Montgomery appears as Tanya, a real estate agent in LA. (Julia Montgomery played Samantha Verdon on OLTL)

- edit to correct my typo. That should say "Samantha Vernon".

No word yet if these two spoilers are connected but ...

Friday March 25 US or Thurs March 24 CDN
Adam tells Sally Spectra that Ashland faked his cancer so that Victoria would marry him in a hurry.
Sally listens, not letting on that she tried the same thing on Wyatt on B&B.

Courtney Hope is really great in this role now.  So glad Sally's savvy and smart now.  No longer desperate like she was on B&B.

    • He definitely got lost in the shuffle last year. First, they were implying that he was Drew’s son, then he was nothing more than just Violet’s bff

And then they changed him to being Dante and Brook Lynn’s son, which was clunky at first but I’m enjoying the storyline now.
    • GM is adorable, charming and fun onscreen despite months of nothing to do until recently, and has a bodacious bod. I'm not cosigning the show or this story - I haven't watched a full episode in over a month - but I think we're all taking the small victories in 2025 at this point. I'm open to testing this theory!
    • I think Jason might've posted some numbers for the syndication a while ago and the numbers for Falcon Crest was horrible. Like 1.5 rating or something, which was terrible.    ETA: it was actually Paul Raven:   New to syndication 60 min Fall Guy 67 markets 3.1/8 Falcon Crest 110 markets 1.1/5 To get into the top 40, you needed a 4.6/9 rating for reference - and Falcon Crest managed to get into a lot of markets to begin with. In the fall of 1985 Dynasty, Dallas and Knots were syndicated (show / rating / share / coverage % / markets): Dallas 3.4 10 51.7 92 Dynasty 3.4 10 48.7 47  Knots Landing 3.3 10 12.5 20  So, Knots as an example trippled Falcon Crest's rating with 20 markets - I'm sure those were major ones but it just goes to show you how much Falcon Crest bombed in syndication.
    • It's not bad but the stories move too slow. It's the same problem when Dan O'Connor was CO-HW with Van Etten, they have a million stories and they all drag on endlessly with no resolution. I'd argue the majority of the stories airing now are good but you get sick of waiting months for something to happen.
    • Thanks. I must have missed that period entirely for Lifetime.
    • Thanks. I know Marland did that type of thing sometimes but it's less likely with these characters. I don't even remember Alex ever mentioning him.
    • French fan summary Rusty took over Simon's job at Lewis Trucking after Simon transferred to Lewis Oil's North Carolina office to live near Jessie and Calla. I doubt they would bother following up a story for offscreen characters eg marriage and a baby.
