It’s so one-note. I know she’s a lot and her own worst enemy, but so is Phyllis, and people don’t go around telling her she’s a piece of sh!t all the time. Can’t she have one decent friend? Otherwise just go all out and make her a total rip-roaring bitch.

Where's Naya and Imani?

When writers decided to use Devon (and Amanda) as angst and supporting to Abby/Chance romance and baby story, that killed any story for the rest of the Black cast except lily is mostly utilized as Billy's girlfriend. Not only did Naya and Imani disappear, but Nate and Elena also got short changed.

I'm convinced those babies that play Dominic always wear hats because the show believes they look less white (or more mixed race) with the hat on than off.

Abby and Devon's baby would come out pretty white anyway, he's got 3 white grandparents.

Courtney Hope seems lovely but her character and casting make no sense. They didn't utilize her on B&B then cast her on this show with absolutely no plans in place. I mean she's talented sure but did they want to keep her that badly? The character exists to be the town punching bag. And from what I can tell she hasn't done anything that awful. Has she ruined marriages? Kidnapped a baby? Killed a dog?

This is where I think they should have put the character (and still can if the writers wake up)
Someone who doesn't GAF, is calling all of them out on their hypocrisy and s**t, is not taking no for an answer but is not taking BS either
The same chip on the shoulder the original Sally Spectra had on B&B about being looked down upon and having to struggle while the rich privileged people whined about their problems. And a willingness to get dirty to lift herself even with them because she can talk herself into justifying scheming for a "good cause" against "bad people".

Instead they constantly are going back and forth whether they want her to be an ingenue or a schemer and they never take the time to give her a consistent motive - even though it was right there for the taking from her early B&B appearances (B&B also lost that side of the plot but it would have been enough to pick the Spectra-clan-will-show-the-world thing back up)

Some people on this board have been begging for a serial killer storyline. Now you have the setup. Sally mad at everyone. Chloe, Chelsea. Adam. Victor. Jack. Phyllis. Lauren. There you go. Clean house and then write off Sally who isn't much needed anyway.

    • To bring over from the May Sweeps Thread from @Chris B   I know the fashions have gotten mixed reviews but I actually like what the new costume designer is putting the cast in. It feels more modern and the more tacky pieces I feel make sense for rich people. They're buying for the brand and the price and we often see celebs in things like this. Especially for a character like Nikki, I feel the more over the top (and tacky), the more realistic it is.   I agree. While it has been hit and miss no question, I have found it fascinating to watch what the costume designer is attempting to do with the various characters and their clothes. Some have been overdue. Some have been fascinating. But (outside of Billy) not boring to watch. I definitely find it more modern as well.   My growing issue has been it's not good that the best reason to watch Y&R as of late has been to see what people are wearing rather than the writing. It feels like a red flag.
    • Haha. The fact that I stopped regularly viewing at the same time and know what you are talking about is chef's kiss.    I'm slowly bingewatching Nurse's Ball Week. But it's slow for me because a lot of the same tics and writing flaws for me that made me throw up my hands is still evident *cough*CVE*cough* Thankfully, there are some things I like also and from a glance in the GH May Thread, it seem like it had a good Sweeps with good fallout. And do I even need to mention Nina finally slapping the taste out of Carly's mouth? See? Regardless of her flaws, I do enjoy Korte-headed episodes over CVE-headed episodes because they always seem to have more emotional resonance to long-time fans.
    • And that charity does still get mentioned from time to time. I want to say the last time was some time this year, too.
    • Oh, no. Vernon has definitely had his moments.   Choose silence anyone?
    • Search YT for Edwyn Sanchez, he posted an AI enhanced episode of ATWT and it is beautiful.
    • That's so funny, that's how I listen to Montecito - while walking my dog. I'll have to check out Forever & a Day.
    • I need to listen! Forever & a Day was a fun soapy podcast to have available when I walked the dog.
    • A few years ago, Devon and Nick started a charity organization together, I think it's for housing in the community.
    • I’m hoping to start getting to know Vernon better this month. He’s really only been a bunch of noble and good tropes so far. I don’t want him to be taken down the way Ted has been, but it seems he was a long-running Senator and no matter what party you are, lasting longer than twenty years means you’re looking out for you (and not who you’re supposed to be looking out for) most of all. I want to get to know both Vernon and Anita beyond their Dupree posturing. Clifton Davis can sleepwalk handling the kind of material Christopher Bernau and David Lewis handled and I’d like to see more than just a saint.
    • I thought Emily/Hal was a really interesting pairing. And I think KMH played that version of Emily very well! It might not have been what people wanted from Emily, and the writing got pretty gross at the end, but I thought she embodied that character effectively.
