Massive icons like Aretha Franklin or Donna Summer will certainly continue to get their own threads when they pass, but I figured it might be worth having a place to honor lesser-known celebrities who have left us, especially because we can’t see status updates (which is where a lot of those announcements were made on here previously).

But the great actor Ian Holm has died at 88:

Absolutely no idea of the veracity of these sites, as they look sketchy to me, but I will pass along the links.

They reference information supposedly from his publicist & that he had been diagnosed with a neurological disorder & suffering from it since 2021. Surely someone reputable will talk to his publicist very soon!

I'll always remember Mr. Whittaker from those iconic Time Life Music commercials of my youth. He was an excellent whistler.

I don't know if it's kosher to post this both here & in the Billy Miller thread but I feel like I want it to be in the permanent thread for when people stop going to the other thread. This just slayed me. It's the tribute from Billy's mgr Marnie Sparer:

I've just learned of something remarkable that they did this morning at Y&R. They took time out of the production day to let cast & crew exchange Billy Miller stories! I think we all know how important tape time is to shows today. No idea who thought of doing this or who gave it a thumbs up of approval but massive kudos!

The Association’s songs give me the warm fuzzies, as I spent so much of my childhood listening to the oldies station in St. Louis and hearing “Along Comes Mary,” “Cherish,” and “Windy.”

Also a staple of my oldies station days. I still listen to those songs, especially Cherish, all the time.

As my name is Wendy, my parents used to play "Windy" and would sing that to me when I was really little. But I remember.

To my knowledge I've never watched David McCallum in anything, but this little factoid about him was very cool when I saw it posted on another forum.
