Members ChitHappens
That would be good, but if Tyler Perry or Shonda Rhymes is remotely involved, FORGET IT!
Members Soaplovers
I'd try to get a classic soap opera that's still alive to create a primetime soap version... Pam Long still writes (wrote the Dolly Parton tv movies, one of which got emmy nominated), and I know some writers turned to writing books. I'm sure Netflix wouldn't interfere quite as much as network tv has done over the last two decades.
Members DramatistDreamer
Perhaps Netflix is the only platform with enough money to mount the kind of production that it would take to pull it off. Also because they never publish their ratings, so the onus would be off that aspect. As for P&G, I'm continually amazed at how these companies that produced soaps can be simultaneously dismissive of the worth of their daytime dramas while guarding them jealously from anyone who would like to do anything active with these shows.
