Members Faulkner
BAFTA winners. Malek, Ali, Roma for Picture, and Cuaron for Director continue to look very strong to repeat at the Oscars, although the Oscars have a preferential ballot for Best Picture that makes predicting winners in that category tricky. I think the Brits love Colman, but I’m not sure she overcomes the due factor for Glenn Close at the Oscars. Similar sentiment for Weisz, who didn’t have to face Regina King at the BAFTAs. Members Faulkner
Editing, Cinematography, Live Action Short, and Makeup/Hairstyling. How random. Edit: not random at all. None of those categories features a film from Disney (owner of ABC). Edited February 11, 2019 by Faulkner

Members WTGH
Shame...Cinematography and Editing are some of my favorite categories. IMO, they should've ditched: Best Documentary - Short Subject Best Live Action Short Film Best Animated Short Film MERGE Sound Editing and Mixing into one category
Members Faulkner
Agreed. The shorts categories are the most expendable, and people have been campaigning for merging of the Sound categories for a while now. We already have categories like Hair Styling and Makeup, which are separate disciplines, combined for one award. Members Khan
I say forget the telecast together, go back to when the Oscars were basically an afternoon luncheon in some hotel, and announce all the winners online via social media.

Members Faulkner
Oscar nominee Regina King had a bit of close shave at an NBA game last night.
Members Khan
The next day, however, everybody at 227 was thrilled when he showed up and gave Brenda Regina an apology.
Members Faulkner
This is interesting: lots of love for Black Panther for Best Picture and all 20 anonymous voters said they’d cast ballots for Rami Malek for Best Actor.
