JellicleCat, did you experience the 1988-89 Santa Barbara storyline involving Eden's rape as it unfolded?  If so, do you think the soap handled the subject matter responsibly?

 

Also, is that a photo of Katherine Kelly Lang as your profile picture?

The last rape I saw handled with any empathy, sensitivity and sophistication on daytime was with Liz on GH.  That was in the 1990's.  But even that one quickly became more about Lucky and Luke than Liz and Laura.

 

Michael's prison rape for the most part was a plot point, and something to torment Sonny, Carly, and Jason.  It could have been much more impactful.

 

I would prefer these current TPTB not try to write something they can't.  Which is anything character driven and requiring sensitivity.
