New Tonya Lee Williams, Interview

I [!@#$%^&*] love TLW and do not understand why she's not on Y&R. someone willing to be outspoken and fearless is exactly what tptb is missing bts for Winters family. someone that understand the significance of that family to many viewers and will demand respect. KSJ won't do it and the younger members either don't have the pull or don't get it

Tonya's not on Y&R because the show doesn't value her. Never has.

I've also had to read one or two comments diminishing and tearing down CG for her looks despite her talent and I wouldn't want TLW subjected to that kind of looks-ism.

Had Olivia been on Y&R today, she would be characterized as a shrew with no love in her life because Y&R was already heading in that direction when TLW was last on the show.

From that interview, I don't see TLW allowing that characterization for Olivia. Olivia is a beloved character who is older, I'm not sure she would be subjected to the same scrutiny as Mariah/CG.

Olivia has gotten a lot of misogynist and prejudiced (I won't go all the way to say racist) comments in the past, particularly when she had that affair with Brad. When I used to frequent boards like SOC it was a common theme that was brought up, long after the affair was over.

 

In any case, the last time Olivia was in GC, the writing for her was pretty mediocre. She was almost at dayplayer status. Perhaps, with a new writing team, it could be different  but it's been a long time (and several writing regimes ago) since Olivia looked anything like a multi-dimensional character.

 

TLW, of course, wouldn't stand for nonsense, she'd simply stay away. Last time I heard, Olivia hasn't returned, not even for a cameo.
